Some of us are repeating the same cr*p. So hopefully Im not doing the same...

The thing that annoys me about previous GT's
- need a tuning shop where it displays all the possible upgrades. For example - with the transmission menu, where instead of individually purchasing each separate item, you "check" boxes from ONE screen and then once you have chosen all the upgrades you want, you can click on a "buy parts" button. Its sooo annoying going to "tripple plate clutch" click "buy" click "are you sure" click "purchased, would you like to fit this part now" click "yes". "Triangle" out of triple plate and go to "racing transmission"... and do the goddam same... you get the picture. It takes about 5 minutes to fully mod your car with every part, when Im sure they could make it all possible on one screen if not two or three, but come on... not one for each individual item.

Hope that makes sense. Here Ill try this, it should be like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HTML:
TRANSMISSION $ Purchase? Already Have HP Inc/Dec
 @ Standard Transmission 0 [n/a] [ *] -
 @ Semi-Racing Transmission 400 [ ] [ ] -
 @ Racing Transmission 800 [ ] [ ] -

 TURBOCHARGER
 @ Stage One 600 [ ] [ ] +20
 @ Stage Two 900 [ ] [ ] +45
 @ Stage Three 1500 [ ] [ ] +67
 @ Stage Four 0 [n/a] [ ] -
--------------------------

TOTAL # OF UPGRADES = 4
TOTAL COST OF UPGRADES = $4,200
TOTAL INC/DEC HP = 500hp
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ive used the @ sign as a substitue for a button that you could click to allow you to find out more info about the particular upgrade. Get The Idea? It would be so much easier, and as you select more items it would show a cumulative total at the bottom of the screen of total cost, total HP increase etc etc.

Man that would be GREAT! 👍 👍 👍 :dopey:

i reckon they should bring back the Horsepower limit which was in GT2, made the races a lot more competitive and exciting, and the whole gaming experience just that little bit more challangeing

good point....

i hate to sound like a ricer guy, but i wouldn't mind being able to change the size of a muffler tip... cuz after you done 'soup up' a evolution or even a honda civic, it still has the stock muffler, and it looks so weird

High on my list of features is changing time of day in endurance races. Best would be if all tracks had time and weather changes, so you could select conditions for short races.

Less difficult to implement, but also very important, I really want to be able to save in the middle of an enduro.

Things I want to see....

- Less crappy cars, there is no point for a cheap Japanese little thing in the game.
- Less of the same model, we don't need a ton of Lancers, Skylines, etc.
- More American cars, there are a ton that the should include off the top of my head a GMC Syclone and Typhoon would be nice, along with a Dodge Omni Turbo. Also whats the deal with no Firebird or Trans Am?
- Engine swaps
- Allow me to adjust the size of the wings, I don't want something gigantic sticking out of my car
- Front end down force
- Adjustable rim and tire size. I want big ol slicks on a Chevelle.
- Chrome rims
- Option to paint your rims
- Mix rim styles
- More modifications. I want to be able to upgrade everything under the hood, things like fuel rails, etc...
- Realistic oil changes, they don't cost 50 bucks and you don't have to change your oil every 600 miles or whatever it is.
- Less pointless races, like 24 hour endurence races
- Faster B-spec, something like 10x's so I can get pointless races doobsne faster
- See the modifactions you do to the car.
- Tire marks
- More tire smoke. I like burnouts.

Appart from wrecking GT4 yhou got anything else in mind ?

Ok not to be too harsh but engine swaps !? To be fair you do have some good ideas, like mixing rims / colours, and also faster b-spec. But oil note, did you evan look at that part of GT4 ... you dont have to change oil for 1000's of miles. Anyhow ...

I would like to see ...

- Paint jobs
- Mixed rims
- Mud rally tracks
- Less 1900's cars UNLESS there is enough choise to make a race (same for the futuristic types )
- Better Tune up screen ( easyer access & use )
- More cars to use the 'Manufacturer Village' & more choise of their cars
- Horsepower limits on 'some races' - Min & Max HP races
- Fixed autosave is a must
- Different body kits
- Less skylines / lancers UNLESS they are different drives, like a FF version & a FR version, or if there HAS to be more than one of the same, they should have slightly different HP / Mods / Handling.
- Maybe 'real sponsor deals' strike a deal with a sponsor and get cheaper parts from them
- Big Maybe of different colour neons for the undercarrage just for the racer lads that want a zooped up show car
- Different oil grades with varialble lasting times & effectiveness

Thats about it for now and i think most of that could be done without too much hassle for PD ... anyhow ... take it easy guys

mvandepas: Awesome idea on the tuning screens! 👍

XplosiV: Sponsorships, yes! Anything that gives your career in GT Mode a little more depth. Just something other than win% and A-Spec points to say "you're making progress" or "you're part of a larger racing world". Someone else suggested a NFS:U2-style open world where you drive to races and shops etc. Not sure this would work with a game like GT (takes too long, and most tracks are all over the world, not in a single area), but it does make for a more immersive experience.

Yeah but that would shorten GTs playtime by about 5 hours. Plus the 'dah' 'dah' 'dah' 'dah' as you purchase everything wouldn't drive you to insanity. ;)

I want on the mods. section to add the : Nos ( Nitro-Oxide ) option !!!

it will be great..

one more thing :

if i have own - let's say - honda civic ... and i am buying another.. or changing it to another... I want to keep my mods from the last civic. they are the same model...

Faster menus, absolutely. There should be no load time for a menu. I think the shortcuts would vastly improve that. Also, if it's going to have a hard drive, perhaps all this could be copied to the hard drive. That would eliminate the load times for sure.

Race Construction - I'm not talking about designing courses (though that would be awesome), I'm talking about choosing the grid. A fleet of S2000 tuners ... awesome! Especially if you could choose from your own garage. That way you could tune the same car a couple different ways and pit them against eachother to see which is faster.

I'm not running it I'm pointing out flaws I foudn with the game. Engine swaps are very common in real life, I want to put the Skyline motor in a 240SX or a rotary in a Miata. It wouldn't be hard Forza does it and it's a great feature. Also with the oil in real life you can go like 5000 miles before changing the it.

TheChef
I reckon scrap the 'special conditions' and replace it with a Drag racing mode.

So the Special Conditions were a bit too difficult for you? Trouble with that "steering" bit of driving a car? You'd rather just mash a button and hope for the best?

No thanks. I'll take a test of skill over an engine part buying war any day.

^ Then get Forza then.

:dunce:

I have both of them and I really like both of them. Hence why I think they should be in the next GT. If they want to compete they have to make it one better then the last one.

ditching the Japanese cars takes away what the primary target audience wants: its Japan (suprise!)

and as for the 24h races, would you rather not have the LeMans Prototype cars? or the GTRs (like the M3 GTR race car and AMG CLK GTR) that are used in the real life Nürburgring 24h? (the CLK GTR AMG is LeMans though).....what is your idea of a race thats not pointless? there more out there than what makes it into the US.....

anyway, one thing i would like to see is at least 2 different racing #s on the same type of race car so that you dont have duplicates of the exact same car in the same race......another thing that i would like is different or even customizable helmets...

I didn't say ditch them, I said get rid of the crappy ones. I mean really does anyone want those little 80hp econboxs that are ungodly boring to race? More then likely no. I'm fine with the half way decent one. Plus it wouldn't take so long to come out if they didn't have to model each of those cars. Plus they are marketing it to the rest of the world too, they need to think global.

I could care less if they were in the game. I hate the 24 hour races, in fact I hate any race over 4 hours. Most people don't have that kind of time to play a video game. In fact I can't even justfy playing a game that long anyways. I know about the other races too since I watch the AMLS sometimes. But they really need to limit the endro races and races with 10+ laps. I like the 5 lappers the best, just enough to keep you entertained but not bored.

proper racing rules, yellow flags, black flags etc, proper championships, bring back the event styles of GT2, just put more of them in, it was great when you had gran turismo league with british championship, japan, america etc, then the next section you had european, american and asian and then you had the world championship, whereas in special events you had all your FF, 4WD, hatchbacks, convertibles, etc.
AI that adapts too how you drive, you do the license tests, and then the AI will be as close to your pace and driving style making for closer racing, and as you get better so do they.

-> On the bumper view, I'd like too see those gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, temp) just like those real car counterparts (like Battle Gear 2 or NFS-series) instead of two common default gauges (regular dial or bar type) in GT4. Man I'd like to see those [CT9A] Evo's w/ those ACD on their gauges. (:

Just like this one below (just an example):

Well, I couldn't believe the long load times for the menus in GT4. Just stupid. I liked it in GT3, simple and QUICK. I don't care if the menus have graphics. I just want to get in, set it up and get out.

please tell me you are not a nascar fan......lol....

5 laps is boring to me...i prefere the grand prix length races of around 60 laps, and think that limiting laps to 5 would be just be a bit short...

if events like LeMans were not held, you would not see the GT40, one of the most famous american cars of all time, or the Shelby Cobra...im sure you wouldnt mind loosing those cars as well as the races they were built for?

some of the low hp cars, like the midget, are more for a laugh than to be seriously raced....and others like the Fiat 500 and Mini are somewhat of a cult car...

its also a good idea to have the performance range of the cars to vary so much...same goes for the variety of the races and the track they are raced on...

I would like to hear the clutch pop whenever i change gears. I wanna hear it being destroyed when i shift too fast.

I am and there is nothing wrong with it.

Five laps wouldn't be boring to you if you thought it was to short. That statement makes no sense. How can fast things be boring. Sure you might like the longer races though.

GT40 no, but the Corbra would have been. I never used the GT40 anyways so once again I don't really car about it. If its there splendid, it not no biggie.

5 lap races are fine on most tracks in most racing games. Anymore and I get bored. Its not real life, its a game however maybe I just don't get into it as much as some do on here :)

GT still has a long way to go in terms of keeping me interested enough for more than 5 laps! Although the driving itself is much better in GT4.

You may hate some of the enduros but thats you, other people want them, me in particulay, flags and car damage and maybe random chance of something going wrong in the pits would make enduros actually a test of enduance, rahter than a longer version of a short race. Now that would be a challenge, coming from a lap or so down with only an hour or so to go after a blown tyre or a bad shunt that needed repair. Also adapting AI, ie- if you start picking up the pace they try a bit harder, change their strategy depending on what happens, would make it more fun rahter than the ultra predictable rag most the enduros in gt4 are now
