We could really do with this guy/machine right about now:

Also, shops are apparently getting attacked by rioters in Wolverhampton.

Are you really a police man if you can't use your weapon?

Seems a bit over dramatic to me. By the time he's forced to use it, he could be dead already.

Possibly, but then again violence instigated by the police would probably not improve the situation across the country. Plus the fact that these are kids and wasters with stones, park benches and the odd molotov cocktail, not firearms.

I'm asking around. Know a fair few people in the area.

A load of Facebook nonsense mate.
It's like a hippy commune with lots of love.
Checked with a friend who lives on Albany rd.

Reports of it being really well organised in Manchester, with people leading and directing it with rioters also being dropped off in vans and cars aswell. As London has been put under control it's escatlating in the other places.

I've noticed that as well. London is quiet but around it it's kicked off in other places. At least my part of England has been largely quietened down...but to the others, good luck. :nervous:

Seems from the reports that there isn't as large a concentration of yobs in Manchester as there was in London, thankfully. Still quite a bit of damage, the Arndale got hit quite bad, seemed that this was the main target. Apparently they split into several small groups to keep the police busy, who may I say have done a sterling job.

Watching everything live on Sky - most places look pretty calm. Plenty of police.

lol i love that quote at the bottom of the picture!
yerh im just watching the news now and they said there around 16000 officers in london! with 500 detectives which is 100 more than the 7/7 bombings...

Only firearms officers have guns. And:

Thats most likely why this will never happen in the USA.
That rule is a little too strict, there is a lot of Police brutality in the US but for giving a cop a leave for discharging some rounds into a crowd of Chavs throwing huge pieces of concrete......idk seems like the system is a little bit too anti-gun.
But then again in 'Merica we love our guns.

So, your solution is to shoot people. Would that be correct?

You noticed that, eh?

It is nice that our firearms officers are trained not to fire and know that when they do they will save a life or some lives with the potential consequence of losing their job - it means they aren't trigger happy and the gun is an absolute last resort. It is dim that we have almost no active police officers with any experience of firing their gun in a pressure situation or taking a life.

how would you feel if your shop that youve put everything you ever worked for into it only to have everthing stolen, and then set on fire leaving you with nothing? not saying them shoot them with live rounds but rubber bullets or bean bags....

What!?

There are plenty of riots in America. LA, Toledo, Minnesota, James Madison University. Guns don't prevent riots. Any country that opens fire with live ammunition for civil dissent has to question where it's duties lie, to control or to kill it's population.

Remember Jean Charles de Menezes? That was a huge balls up.
