Also, rumours are out there of rioting coming to the town right next to mine very soon :scared::scared:

Whereabouts is it spreading? I gathered it's still contained to New Street at the moment.

I'm pretty sure Sutton is safe.

New street? Maybe its best if I don't get the train into new street tomorrow.

PM to return from his holiday tonight.

The footage from Croydon is just horrifying.

It's not spreading, it's a seperate riot starting, apparently. In Chelmsley Wood. Hopefully they'll keep it to themselves and just burn each other, but my worry is that my road is the first thing that anyone coming over from Chelmsley Wood will come across.

I wouldn't, judging from the photos that seems to be the worst hit area.

A popular culture that constantly reinforces the misguided belief that no effort is required to make it in life?

Are you blaming the X Factor then? (j/k)

Arm yourself up and get ready Mog.

But to be serious, Mog, I think you'll be ok if you're outside of shopping centres/town centres.

Clapham Junction now! For christ sake, this is disgusting. Havent these people got even the slightest bit of intelligence.

I thought the answer to that would be obvious.

Well I was supposed to be getting off at New Street, and walking to Moor Street. This will be at half 8 in the morning mind, so hopefully the plebs will be in bed.

Yeah, so far the Birmingham riots have just been targeted at looting shops. There's a video online of people looting Sainsburys and cars are just driving by as normal outside

Makes me want to get up there with my camera but it's not worth the risk.

The thing that made me worry was that Chelmsley Wood is known for being full of yobs at the best of times and they're the kind of people who wouldn't just target shops and businesses....

Fixed.

Screw time zones and their natural complexity, I'm snoozing off now. Tell me how much of Bromley is wrecked in the morning, OK? Thanks. ;)

Mog and Stev, Brum riots were just on BBC News then, looks to be getting worse.

Nobody's messed with the pool supply, right? I'd be on the roof keeping watch with the miuriatic acid.

Did this guy supply all the chavs in London with their drugs or something?

It's ridiculous, there is absolutely no justifiable reason for all of this. And it's just getting worse. Saw footage of "Religious leaders" trying to justify this by saying the police, even in Central London, are to blame for this, because they killed that criminal. Total bull.

And the media are quick to paint it all as the work of the "Youth". I'm sorry, but that isn't how it works. Young people do not organise a massive riot over Twitter. Seems to me a group of serious criminal organisers have used everything that's gone on recently as a catalyst to wind many people up and cause mayhem.

As someone said, if the police act, things will intensify. And they can not deal with it either.

Damn, you guys have some seriously resilient glass for it to take a trash can without break...either that or the looters are just weak asses.

I was gonna say. I remember seeing the Vancouver videos as people easily broke into shops and what not. Then again, those Canadian hockey fans may be a bit more buff than the average englishman.

I knew people of my generation were pathetic, but not to this extent. Roll in the Army.

Is anyone watching BBC news right now? They were speaking to the deputy mayor of London and he said:

"There are no water cannons on the UK mainland"

"Can't you get them from Northern Ireland?"

"We could, but what good will that do right now? The police can handle this, with the right space"

 What a bloody moron!

BBC: "Are you thinking about more serious measures, like water cannon, or the army?"
Deputy Mayor: "We don't have water cannon on the mainland."
BBC: "But you could get them from Northern Ireland?"
Deputy Mayor: "Yes..."

The deputy mayor of London has also come up with a possible solution - call your children and tell them to come in, it's bed time.

edit: tree'd

Yes it does, I think I will be alight though I will walking through new street at about half 8 in the morning and about midday. The plebs seem to be coming out at night.

All transport in and out of Birmingham has been stopped, though...

As far as im concerned, if your there watching or setting fire or thieving things, your involved and expect to face the consequences. The police have to step up from this passive push forward, fall back approach to something more aggressive. If they dont show a strong hand this will just keep happening.

Can someone explain something to me? Is the neighborhood that's being destroyed inhabited by a bunch of pansies? How are they letting a bunch of hoodlums just ruin everything? Why aren't these people being thumped by the neighborhood before they cause any more damage?

I know you guys don't have guns, so that's probably why. But, damn, that is frustrating.
