Perhaps the OP should say you must downgrade to version 1.0 or 1.05 of the game to do the final steps as 1.05 was mentioned https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=8037636#post8037636 as the version used by shepzki to delete the offending cars.

Hi,a mate I have just edited number 5 to read has such? Nice spot.
" 5. Again go to GAME DATA UTILITY and delete the game to go back to 1.00 version. (If version 1.00 does NOT work for you. You could try the first update which is 608mb and that takes you to version 1.05.) You need to use the First GT5 disc edition?
(No other versions of the disc will get you back to version 1.00) "

Hope that works and is easy to understand. Thanks for your input. 👍

Bolded section is the update?
Chat soon bye for now.:)

For what it's worth, my two problem cars were random standards from the UCD, from a time when I was just doing a few races and buying anything in the UCD that didn't have a check mark. Sorting by date acquired, there were working cars from the same grind directly before and after them, and I never did any patch downgrading until now.

Also in addition to the steps above, while on 2.09 I made sure my current car wasn't a DLC car, and because I hadn't heard anything on the subject I went ahead and switched my driver outfit to an original (Horizon-08 and Double Stripe-08)

My save has the special coupons, some dlc cars, and some standards with changed wheels, all of which was not a problem thanks to zephyrus and the rest of this thread 👍👍

Looks good to me. 👍

You might also want to add right at the end to go download any DLC keys again. I presume they will be needed as the keys are kept in the gamedata file that was deleted during the fix process and are linked to your PS3 Profile and SEN ID.

You can see all your keys in the savedata file by going to Game Data Utility, press triangle over GT5 savedata then select Update History.

Cheers again for the input. 👍

You're a good man. I think Cargorat has done enough work on GT5 and this thread recently to last him a lifetime. :D

Yeah its been an ordeal to say the least but with everyones input things are certainly looking good in this thread.👍
Cheers, Chat soon mate bye for now.:)

Nice work, everyone! It's nice to see a community (that just happens to be spread out all over the world) pull together like this and solve a problem for someone, and many involved in the solution had nothing to gain from it. Restores a little faith in humanity, really. My hats off to all who assisted here. 👍

Awesome. I am so glad to see a good result come from this thread. Even though I haven't had the problem, I have been following it daily to see if you guys got a fix. Taking the time to find the problem yourselves took a lot of effort/determination and it just instills the fact that this is one of the best online communities I have been apart of. Cheers to everyone!!:)👍

The OP has been updated. I would like to take this time to once again say "thank you" to all those that have contributed their thoughts and ideas in this thread in order to solve the problem. Even tho it was zephyrus that put together the final missing link to make this all possible, it was the rest of the members here and their tireless efforts and dedication that also made it possible.

I would like to especially thank christara321 for being part of the problem solving process right from the start and his willingness to go the extra mile. He also deserves credit for putting up with some of my more less than glamorous moods, lol. I went thru some grouchy stages and he hung in there like a champ and didn't take anything personal. That part goes to everyone else also. Thanks for not taking my grumpyness personal. It certainly wasn't meant that way and I'm glad you guys hung in there with me.

There are just too many members here to list that had a part in all this but all your efforts, big or small, are all appreciated. Without the collective efforts of each and every one of you, this fix would not have been possible and to each and every one of you, I am forever indebted. I could not be any prouder to be a member of such a great community.

The magnitude of this problem ran deep, and I firmly believed that it was going to take a patch to fix. Nowhere in my wildest dreams did I think I was going to get the support I did from all of you to help solve this problem. This has turned out to be a pretty epic event if you ask me. Just shows how strong and knowledgable this community is. You guys are the best of the best as far as gaming communities go.

Some of you may think I'm going a little overboard here, but those of you that know my personal story will know why this game means so much to me and why I am so grateful to have my 26 month save back. But, this isn't about me. Its about a community that banded together to help solve a few peoples problem. This community is the best there is and I am truely honored to be a part of it. Together, we can accomplish anything.

So, in closing, I just want to once again thank you for everyone's tireless dedication and willingness to go the extra mile to help solve this problem. Also a big thanks to all the other people who offered to send me stuff to get my other account up and running. Even people who I had a rocky past with offered and did help in sending me stuff. That also speaks volumes for the type of community this is. I am forever proud to say I am a member of GTPlanet and will always be forever grateful for the friends I have made here. Even tho just virtual friends, I feel like I know alot of you more than that.

Peace and God Bless to each and every one of you.

Thank you to all people to try to help in this post. Specially to CargoRat, christara321 and chug-a-bug

Without all that help I could not made it posible to find the solution and all the details.
All the info that users have been giving in this post has been essential to find the way.
Sometimes the problem look so deep and hard that was easy to throw in the towel.
But the constantly infomartion, knowledge and improvements from the people make it posible.

Thanks Guys!

I'm so glad you got your game back cargo. I admit my own success wasn't quite as sweet knowing that you and others still had looping. I want to thank all the members again for helping me get my game back, and to cargo for getting the thread started and not giving up and letting the thread run.

See, these are one of the great reasons I love about GTPlanet. Not only on Gran Turismo but because everyone helps each other and works together like a great team. 👍 This thread is a good example of what I'm talking about. :)

Again, well done everyone and great team work. :D

Hey you guys, I pm'd Jordan about this thread and the accompishments by the communuty. I kindly asked if he could include it in the news section because I think it is quite an accomplishment by the community and I think all that participated needs recongnition for all their hard work. He said he would think about it and try to fit it in if possible. Just another way to get the word out about what a great community this is. Thanks again to all.

The article will be live in a little bit.

Great work, guys. 👍

Thanks Terronium. That really means alot to me and the rest of the members here that everyone's hard work and dedication is being reconized by Jordan and the rest of the staff. This also reflects on how good of a job the staff is doing at keeping this site top notch. Great work all the way around.

Long live GTPlanet.

@ GTP_CargoRat

I have managed to get into your save in 1.05 and delete the 2 offending Nascars from your save, am currently updating to latest version to try and see if it helps, will post back soon.

How do you get into the save? Is it possible for me to hack my save.

You don't need to hack your save. I've added the instructions to the OP if you are having the looping problem. I only sent him my save because there was a few cars that were undeletable, causing the looping issue when updating to 2.10. Instructions are in the OP if that is your issue.

Good job finding the final piece in the puzzle. :)

do i need to go 2.09 or 2.07
and how to find ghost cars???

I just went to 2.09 just to be safe. To find the "ghost" cars, you're just going to have to check your cars one by one. You can do this by trying to delete them or trying to use them. If you try to delete them and it does nothing, then that is your problem car or if you try to get into them and again nothing happens, then that is your problem car. Keep in mind tho that DLC cars can't be deleted anyway. If you have alot of cars, it can be a long process but that is the only way that I know of and that is how I found mine.

So. just update back to 2.07/2.09 and start trying to delete cars. Make sure you have a backup of your save tho. Make sure tho that you disable your internet connection once you get to 2.07/2.09. Otherwise when you try to load the game, it will want to update to 2.10.

There seems to be another pattern that has emerged. The "corrupt" cars seem to be the result of people winning or purchasing them while playing on a downgraded version of the game for one reason or another. I could well be wrong in saying that. I'd say that all those cars have been in some way tweeked by PD at some stage. Therefore their downgraded specs are not compatible with later versions of the game so they show up as "corrupted". Probably something to do with aero/suspension/lsd/transmition tuning values being out of current range. Remeber when the game was new you couldn't adjust transmition settings etc. Could be something to do with that too. Just a guess..

Moral of the story.. Never play GT5 on a downgraded version and always keep a current version savedata backup.

Not quite, I've never played a "downgraded" version of teh game, I've only ever upgraded.... the car got stuck after one of teh early update patches.

Also it's never been touched, I've never been "in" the car at all. it's totally 0/0/0. So it's a mystery.

Anyway I'm just glad that we have a fix for... whatever went wrong.

Same with mine. Two NASCAR cars that I bought but never did anything with. Thet were both 0/0/0. My guess is that they just became glitched during the saving process when they were aquired.
