Looping When Trying To Load Game After 2.10 Udate *FIXED*

I need detailed, step by step instructions of how you did this. I don't care if you stopped to use the restroom in between or kissed your wife/girlfriend, lol, I need to know that too. so when I try this again, I do it exactly as you did.

As I said many times before, the DLC is preventing me from going back that far.

Sorry, had to give a little more detail. I have not bought a single DLC, but I have the free ones: Toyota FT-86, Scion FR-S 012, corvette stingray and the C7 covered. These did not interfere at all, only when you try to select them or use them caused a problem and had to restart the game, in the 1st updates. and you cant even delte the DLC cars?!?!? is very stupid considering that those cars are at the dealership and can be purchased at any time.

thats exactly what i did, update by update, I suggest you start from the CD software.... there has to be an update to work with your saved game data. if at least one of those leaves you enter to the menu, then i think you're close from solving the problem. patience bro and good luck!!!

Ok, when I try it with no updates at all, it freezes at the silver GT screen.

Update #1 (608 MB) - OK, odd. Game loaded all the way up to the GT5 hOME screen but froze when the dialog box came up that says,"You have reach level 15. A-Spec & B-Spec Events: Expert Series can now be played. Special Event: Gran Turismo Rally (Intermediate) can now be played."
Curser is stuck on the ok button. Tried 2nd time, same thing. Tried 3rd time, same thing. Moving on to the next update.

Update #2 (301 MB) - Loads to to GT Home screen with the dialog box from above showing then quicky loops back to the silver GT loading screen and continues this action, back and forth.

Update #3 (47 MB) - After the colored GT5 logo screen, I get the message, "Insufficient free space on the HDD. At least 32MB required. Please exit the game and free up some space."
This cannot be the case as I know for a fact that I have way more free space than that. I actually have 204GB of free space.

Update #4 (48 MB) - Same thing as above. Getting tired of this BS. I quit.

Yet when I did the same thing with your save it froze after I got to the Home screen?
Even showed the demo of the bloke looking for a helmet.
Clicked little house loaded the next screen and thats its freeze point on me.

I too had some dlc, but I'm almost certain I got rid of all the items back when 2.09 was current. I wish I could remember exactly what I did, but I vaguely remember not being able to sell or delete a car (a kart maybe?) but I think I was able to gift it to a random friend (which isn't gonna help if you can't go online)

I can tell you that when I did it the last time, I deleted everytrhing except the car I was in, some undeletabe DLC, and the two "ghost" cars and it did not ork for me. I am trying chassy's method again right now. I will update my post above (post #544) with each update that I do.

I know when I did it mate I just the clicked the O so not sure if thats an issue.
It said you have signed out at the top but then when you go back for updates it doesn,t give you the option of signing in like normal with your password screen showing so it may still be connected to the servers some how but not connected to the PD servers.
Not sure on that one.


But I will say your first try gave you something different to what showed when I tried. The first install allowed me into the home screen and I felt so close and was ready to move to the garage. But it was a frozen screen.

Maybe if you go back and try the no internet option it might do something different.

I have the first complete pack, the 2&3 car pack, the race car pack with all the karts and the black red bull x2010, the speed test course pack and the corvette prototype.



I started by deleting my game data and then updating up to version 2.09. Then I went down my entire garage trying to get into every car through the triangle button menu until I found two cars that wouldn't let me change. So I tried to delete those cars and found that I could not.
I then deleted my game data again, and this time tried to start from version 1.0 (I have the original disc) but it wouldn't launch, so I updated the first update, (1/20 on my game) canceled the download after it installed and checked to find that I was on version 1.05. Then disabled my internet, started the game and I was able to load it. I found the two corrupted cars and luckily I was able to delete them. After that I manually saved, turned internet back on and updated to 2.10 and crossed my fingers. As far as my DLC cars that had the yellow exclamation point, I didn't touch em. I left them and all my other content completely alone.
I hope this helps others too. Maybe I was just lucky that I only had older DLC apart from the corvette prototype.

My internet is disconnected at this point. Does the same thing if I disable it from the XMB menu or just hit "O"

I have a feeling that those pop up windows is gonna be a problem now tho, we'll see.

Yeah its weird that you got something totally different to me? Yet its the same save we,re working with?

I think from what I read is the time he disconnected his net was when he did the first update. 608mb?
Then loaded up, I just clicked the O button so not sure if there,s any difference but who knows.
So that might help might not but its a question of try everything.

It may sound stupid, but what if you save your game, create a new account (in-ps3) match it with your PSN ID so you can use it, and enter the game. (It probably won't work but you wouldn't lose anything)

Have you tried your game save on another PS3 to see if it'll work. Might do the trick if you've access to another PS3?

Oh, I see. Then you must be right from the beginning. I wonder if PD are really aware of this and that their patch is broken for some. Seems like they aren't with lack of anything from them. I can't believe how hard it is to get through to them with any problems like this. Good luck with this, I can only imagine what it's like to loose 2 years worth of game save.

Go to 2.07 /2.09 dont care.
Go to GT menu and Design options of my world / Color and image of the background of your GT world.

Take first image (afternoon) and first colorur (blue).

Thats it. Go to 1.00 and thats all. Delete your car.

I used academy disc (2.07) and then only download the last 3 updates.
Won't be a problem.

Mate get to 2.09 has quick as possible and then do the adjustments.

You then remember disconnect the net when you get back to 1.00.
Load the game blah blah blah.

So thats use disc what has updates for the 2.09 quickly then back to old original disc when getting to 1.00.
After the delete back to disc with newer updates.

After all this is said and done and we find out for sure that all this hokus pokus works, could I get you to do a nice detailed/organized write-up of how to go thru the fixes to get things working again. Of course giving due credit to each member that contributed to the various fixes to get things to work. That way people won't have to go searching through this thread for the various steps. I think that would make it easier for members to just read one post as opposed to go hunting thru this entire thread. Just make sure you give each member credit for their part in the various solutions. That is if this all turns out to work. Does that sound good to you?

I make a tutorial

Is in my poor english but will save time. Copy to a new post if you want

Tutorial to fix problem with 2.10 update.

1. Don't delete anything!

2. Downgrade to 2.07 (academy disc) or 2.07 or 2.09 (downloadig updates)
How to downgrade? Go to GAME DATA UTILITY select GT5 / triangle / delete, and download again the updates.

3. You need to find for your ghost car/s, That car are unable to be choice, sell or deleted. when you find it go to next step.

4. Go to your GT world menu and click over options / Design options / and change background color to the first one (blue) and Backgroud image to the first asswell (afternoon one)

5. Again go to GAME DATA UTILITY and delete the game to go back 1.00 version (First GT5 disc edition)

6. Enter the GT5, say no to updates and go to your garage. Delete the car/s

7. You can be back to 2.10.
