Gonna have to agree with you, Cargo. If the entire GTP community have not been able to find the fix for it yet, then I'm convinced there isn't one. Wishing ya luck that PD doesn't leave you hanging out much longer.

Yeah Cargorat it looks like there is no common ground between all the people effected and just seems very ramdon mate.

So why its just happened to so many people and not others is beyond me.

And apart from listing what everyones last few hours of activities were before they updated I think that would be clutching at straws to find a answer? (Or a correction?)

So I guess its best to sit tight keep your fingers crossed and hope that PD do something a bit quick.
All I can say is that people must do what ever they can to get the message over to PD in what ever format they can, Whether its phoning/mail or other means then do so.
Plus post in many forums has possible to get the message across?

Chat soon mate bye for now.:)

Thanks Mudd, appreciate it.

@christara321: Yep, all we can do now is sit and wait.

@everyone else: If you haven't registered a complaint with Sony/PD, I urge you to do so. You can try and do what they tell you in order to fix the problem, but I can tell you that I personally have tried everything that they are going to tell you to try....to no avail. Just tell them that this is a specific problem that happened after the latest update and its going to take a fix from PD in order to solve the problem. You can even link this thread if you want to if you e-mail them. So, here's hoping we get a fix sometime soon.

Yea, the whole thing with wireless being the issue is something I highly doubt being the culprit here. Yes, wired is the recommended choice for the PS3 or anything for that matter, but you can lose packets of data regardless of what connection you are using. I imagine Cargo and all others with this problem aren't all using a specific way to connect to their PS3. I can bet you that some are using wired and some are using wireless.

I also have been using wireless day 1 with my PS3, and have yet to run into issues with it, especially downloading an update/DLC. Never had a corrupt download EVER with my connection. I say if wireless was so big of an issue with "losing" data during a download, they wouldn't have even put a wireless card in the PS3 in the first place.

As a consumer, it really is out of our hands at this point and something PD/Sony is going to have to figure out since every avenue has failed for those of you trying to fix it yourselves. Let's just hope this is getting someones attention over there at PD/Sony, for the sake of a lot of loyal GT fans.:nervous:

Thanks Matt. That pretty much sums it up for me at this point also. Well said and nice written post.

My theory its a problem with the new udpate and the backup gamesave files.

My normal gamesave have the date of the last day that I enter to the GT. But the backup one have the date of some minutes ago.
That means that in the loop screen the game is saving over the backup file and dont in the normal one...

Any Way to contact with PD people? I called to support phone her in spain and they tell me that they can't do anything.... shame... Only the game's support can't start a report.

PureGTMuzz: Don't come on here bashing wireless.

Sorry mate, didn't mean to cause any offence or intimate that all those who have a problem are wireless. I mean mearly to contibute. Perhaps a bad choice of words but the fact remains hardwired is a better choice than wireless when updating. I don't mean to bag or bash anyones system at all.

Yes you are correct about a properly set up wireless system. I'm in New Zealand and when wireless I can host 14 people rooms pretty much lag free (depending on other drivers connections) with the other 13 drivers all in Europe. I too know how to set up a router and network.

From the poll at this early stage it is looking like a full 1/3 of people are having problems. Not a good look. I really hope PD come up with something quick for you guys, or at least acknowledge there is a problem and let people know they are working on it. Even that would be reassuring for now.

I did not get this bug, but I did happen to get a different bug where loading races against AI would give me a stuck loading screen. This happens when the quick track load doesn't work or when the loading bar doesn't speed up at a certain point.

No problems then. I just hate it tho when people start bashing wireless connections as it was the worse thing in the world. You can suffer packet loss either way. I have seen people using hardwired connections that have had way more problems than I have had with wireless so I guess it all depends on the situation. Anyway, thanks for the appology and explanation. Now, back to waiting.

must do to capture the attention of this as quickly as possible. if not, then we will not solve the problem because it only happens to some accounts, and for that reason i just write to kaz_yamauchi on his twitter account, I attach the address of this thread, in English and Japanese, using google translator for the Japanese course. I hope he gets the message to see how to solve this problem, I had not slept since the upgrade. fingers crossed.

Thanks for doing that. Maybe he will get the word quicker that some are having problems.

Oh common now

I'm sure it's aggravating but If I was in the position and was hell bent on playing I'd find a way; Use a different save if it works, or, start a new game, or, re install the game and stop at 2.09. No need to loose sleep.

True. I've just been playing Forza. Got in some good races and painted/designed some cool cars with the livery editor.

I can't play on my working GTP account because the last thing I did when I experimenting was reformat and never went and re-established that account as I was more concerned in trying to get my main to work. Now, with PSN being down, there is no way for me to get that account back up and running until they come back up. Yea, I could start a whole new game from scratch with just the one car and $20,000, but I'm not that desparate, lol. I'll just play Forza until things get sorted out. I'll post a pic of a car I've been working on later just to break up the bordom here, lol.

lool... the thing its i really dont wanna loose my game, over 2 years I have invested in this game to loose it that easy, I do not think I can start the game again from scratch, if for the next update might happen again, I think I'm capable of hitting a wall with the console as a sticker (lool) and play in 2.09 update... well, may be an option but will not have anything fun to race against the game's artificial intelligence, in 1st, do not know why they call artificial intelligence, because they SUCK... so just waiting for a fix to this!!! Well, I guess I'll have to get a xbox360 and forza 4 ... I think now would be a great time: D

I'm just gonna go off topic a wee bit here but it is kind of relavent.

There is definatly something wierd going on out in PS3 cyberspace. Update 2.10 is a dud, SEN is down for some for an extended period of time.

For me I can login to SEN in NZ but can't use PS Store, Account Management or register for a new SEN account. I can play GT5 online in private or public but now I can't send anything to friends. Paint, tuning parts, tickets, cars, helmets and suites all say "Upload Failed". It has nothing to do with 2.10 as I have been able to send post 2.10.

Right now I'm afraid to touch anything in GT5. Glad I have clean backup saves post and pre 2.10.

Just my observations.. Back to the topic now.

Yea, some crazy things going on the last few days. Kinda makes you wonder what the hell is going on, lol.

Remote racing is down. "A network error has occured. Returning to the Gran Turismo Main Menu."

Gran Turismo TV is down too. "Unable to retrieve data required by Gran Turismo."

I continue to be able to log in and out of SEN at will, play GT5 online and do seasonals.

Seems that GT5 services "linked" to SEN are down and SEN services are down. Beats me how I'm still able to log in to SEN and play GT5 online.

Sorry to hijack the thread but all this is like living in the Twilight Zone with the forgetful Minute Men.

I just wonder how much is SEN and how much is PD because I was able to use the GT5 services last night even when I couldn't use the SEN services???

I will say no more unless it is directly related to the 2.10 update. Thanks for suffering my musings.

Just thought I'd share some pics of what I've been doing in Forza while waiting for PSN tp com back online. These are just a few of the cars I've designed using the livery editor.

For the record online is a mess right now anyway, ppl droping out, not being able to get on track, game freezes, and some new bugs none of us have seen before, started a race the other night with 7 ppl, we were on the grid reving the engines but the 3 2 1 race countdown never came, its all a mess right now.

Every patch creates more bugs than it fixes

Yeap, It looks like it just keeps writing the Backup save repeatedly.
Anyone know how to contact PD? An email?

contact PD may be something very difficult, 1st of all you need to know how to speak Japanese and 2nd expect one of those Japanese are going through the same problem... lol :D

I think the "looping" issue is directly related to the suspicious PSN "maintenance", so please feel free to update us on your odd findings. I find it quite interesting, and checking this thread gives poor Cargo something to do. :D

Isn't PSN still down for maintenence anyway. I read in another thread that the maintenence time got extended and is still down. The only reason some are able to be online is because they didn't log out before the maintenence started.

@Mudd: Whats the matter, you don't like my Forza creativity, lol.

Ok so I have several SEN accounts from different countries. Just now I tried to login to SEN with all of them. Here's the results.

New Zealand Yes
United Kingdom Yes
United States Yes
Hong Kong Yes
Japan No

I can log in and out at will with the yes accounts even though there is still maintenance going on.

I have got the same problem... just thought i should mention starting a new gamesave does not work, at least in my case. I get a Network Error every time i try to go to communtiy or seasonal events.

Ok guys, we're getting a little too far off track here. There is already a thread for PSN being down for maintenence. Lets keep on track here with the "looping" problem. Thanks.
