Lost Motorsport Talents

Andy Priaulx

He's a three-time consecutive World Touring car champion from when the series was good and was European champion before that, setting an FIA record for most international touring car titles won in a row at four.

He's not done that much since 2010 in terms of wins but he has been runner up in ILMC ELMS. Given his 2000s success I'd say he's an adeptly fulfilled talent rather than a lost one.

Takuma Sato, Sergio Perez, Kamaui Kobyashai, and Robert Kubica will always be the names for me.
Same with Mark Webber. A great talent, but he was on a team that clearly favoured the other driver. Webber is probably a better overall driver than Vettel, but he never got the chance to race with equal equipment.

Perez still has time. He's 26 and still actively in Formula One. He's also outperforming a teammate who many had tipped to make it big.

Hülkenberg is cooling down from his peak now, as most drivers do in their early 30's. It's too late for Nico whether he likes it or not.

Pérez doesn't have lots of time in him but he has enough to possibly challenge for a world championship. I would say Pérez's talent is nearly fulfilled having a handful of podiums to his name in a midfield car. He just needs a better team to top it off.

Yeah, Andy Priaulx has most definitely fulfilled his talent.

Montoya... I'd say partly yes. He's won a ton of things in his time but it's not as many as he could possibly win.

Lopez. He's definitely not lost, especially in terms of touring car racing. But in open-wheelers, apart from his early career, not that much. Formula E is a great starting place but there's two outcomes - Buemi or Villeneuve.

Gunnar Nilsson had a promising start until he died of lymphoma-related cancer after just two years in F1.
