Thanks. That's much better. As I said, you didn't change my meaning, so it's no biggy, but other people do change meanings by changing quotes, and it's lame. Didn't mean to jump down your throat.

Personally, I agree with you, brake assist is unlikely to help someone improve. It may however let more people enjoy the game. Also, with a proper matchmaking system in place you will never even know these lower level players are playing the game anyway.

Dynamic driving line and rewind, on the other hand, do help people improve and do so much faster than without them. I've seen it happening.

Imagine all the youtube videos put up that will always be questioned. Was the video staged or was it for real? Suddenly that video of you passing 2 cars 3 wide through the middle is meaningless as you can stage it with rewind.

If you're watching a video of a cool video and the most pressing thing in your mind is whether they achieved it on the first attempt or not then I think you're missing the point. I know when I'm watching a movie I don't care whether the scene I'm watching was the first or tenth take. Do you?

I know the rewindists will dust off my concerns as undue fear. I'll get the same old "dont use it" routine. I said it before, it's not that simple.

The majority of people will use it even if they say they won't. Should rewind be in Metal Gear Solid 4? No. It shouldn't be any game let alone a simulator unless it involves time travel

I have $500 or so saved up that was gonna be for a PS3, GT5 and maybe a wheel this xmas seasons assuming GT5 shaped up as good as I hoped. That's why I am so involved... for most people here GT5 would only cost $60, for me GT5 is gonna cost over $400.

I hate to break it you, but a lot of videos of stunts in games are staged, and done without rewind. Whether they used friends driving the other cars, or a lot of race restarts, it's still possible to stage these things. The argument that rewind would totally destroy your trust in the credibility of Youtube stunt videos is... perhaps not as important to others as you might think.

Ummm... if the majority of people choose to you use it, then I'd probably call that a good feature. If they use it in their single player game, it doesn't affect you in any way at all. You can enjoy your punishing hardcore single player experience, and they can enjoy their Playstation game.

• Not only has Devedander not been talking from a high pedestal, but amazingly enough, he has just as much right to comment on the situation as you do! Considering, you know, its a game that both of you are looking forward to buying that neither of you have actually played.
• Your "experience" with Prologue might as well be with Ridge Racer Revolution for all the difference it makes about the final version of GT5, so it isn't as if your comments are somehow objectively more valid anyways.

I can talk about how the ferrari enzo sucks and how it can be improved all I want, but my opinion is invalid since I don't own one nor do I know its limits. Can I comment on it just because I own a car, the same thing that the enzo is? I don't think so.

Even if I did, I'd have the good grace to keep it all in one thread and not spread it throughout like cancer. Granted, that's not devedander's fault, but he often says "you guys' argument is invalid since you don't provide a wall of text (that I won't read anyways) to argue with me!" even though we play GT5P all the time and in our gut know that this feature isn't needed, and he thinks we're just being the devil's advocate.

I've played Forza 3 on my roomate's Xbox and I still hate the rewind, I've also used an emulator where oyu can quick save after every single action so you never die. So yeah, stop being pedantic and annoying.

I mean what game designer would legitimately allow your game to be suddenly interupted and rewound just because someone else pushed a button... can you imagine 8-16 people on course each with a rewind button? :lOL:

Um, Devedander....I don't know if anybody let you in on this, but....um........we were actually talking in the context of championship races.....

At first i was against the idea but after some thought it might ease some possible problems with the game. AI in GT has been quite prone to some irrational behaviour and rewind would give you possibility continue playing after you are hit by stupid AI driver.

That's valid enough reasoning for your stance in my book, and is fairly similar to my own. What is NOT valid reasoning is "You haven't played GT5 like I have so my opinions hold more weight then yours." Because, quite frankly, that is an absurd line to take.
