Okay, we can't be stoning every single person who pays extra attention to Raikkonen. Andrew Benson simply said it will be the car Kimi will drive on his return to the sport, it's not like Autosport's "Raikkonen's Lotus" they've shamelessly plastered everywhere.
Besides, can you blame them for paying special attention to a highly talented and commonly liked driver returning to the sport, especially when there isn't that much else going on at Lotus.

Raikkonen is more famous than Grosjean. Have people just landed on this planet last week or something? Basic media 101, make the article sound good. "Lotus unveil their 2012 car" doesn't sound as good as "Lotus unveil Kimi Raikkonen's chariot of ultimate bloody victory". 
Sure its cheap journalism but its kind of expected these days. I never thought it was beyond Andrew Benson or Autosport to stoop to that, they've demonstrated plenty of times in the past that they can go for cheap headlines rather than neutral or sensible ones. I say stoop as if its really bad, really its not, its just not particularly diplomatic.

Precisely. The amount of reads of your webpage and purchases of your articles in the newspapers or magazines, is what pays the bills. Raikkonen returning to F1 is a journalistic goldmine.

What's to say this isn't the car Raikkonen will drive? And by that I mean the actual, physical car that he will drive. It does, after all have the number 9 on it, which is the number Raikkonen will carry this season. What if they just left Raikkonen's out for the photos, then packed it up with Grosjean's car and shipped them both off the Jerez?

I doubt they'll declare McLaren's nose illegal (the verdict on the snowplough is still not in yet). McLaren have sacrificed nose height to keep it the same shape. Everyone else wants a high nose, Mclaren doesn't give a damn (shovel nose), so it gets the sexier nose. Ferrari gets it worse because they wanted much much more space under their nose.
Lotus, so far as I can see, has the best looking nose of the rest of the pack. Which is nice, because it makes a clean car look even cleaner... but which probably means that they're not trying hard enough.
Can't say for sure how un-hard they are trying, simply because the black color and lack of rear end shots means we can't see how the whole thing flows.
Should we start a betting pool for how badly Grosjean will outqualify Raikkonen? Year's free premium for whoever gets closest.
