You could get a collapsible stand like the Wheel Stand Pro or Fanatec Rennsport?

I've got the fanatec and it's great. 👍

Wheel Stand Pro is £90, The Fanatec is slightly more but is a lot taller which is why I got it, as the WSP is only suitable for low chairs and sofas etc. :)

Hope you finish remodeling your home before next Saturday, :scared:

That would definitely be a good time to Finnish it ;)

For some reason I still haven't bought the car... TOCA and FIA GT1 are totally taking up all the attention :dopey:

Ahem, we're not in the Wild West right now. :sly: Though that brings to mind a wonderful game called RDR...

Has anyone managed to do recruitment yet? :dopey:

Red Dead Redemption is an excellent game. 👍 Although I preferred Red Dead Revolver if I'm honest.

Recruitment?

Looking forward to hear carbons reaction on the car :)

and £90 is a lot ^^ especially when i just spent about £650 on my apartment :P

Hahaha well i don't really just thought they wouldn't understand if i wrote 7000 kr :) but now i'm off to drive a real car.. I should be there next saturday <3

Speaking of which had my 1st driving lesson on Wednesday- it feels really surreal.

On topic- Don't forget guys about 4-ish my lounge. 👍

Wouldn't that be 700€? :dopey:

Sweden and GB are traitors, they are in the EU but refuse to use the common currency :grumpy:

GB is worse though because they don't even use meters or grams. Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't use litres either.

My fanatec should help me in real life...

Although I have already driven a couple of cars... :sly:

We actually do use metric officially, we are taught in metric and stuff. It's just most of us prefer to use miles, yards, inches stone etc.

It feels nothing like driving on GT5. It's bloomin' fun though :D

They are way too confusing, I can't understand anything the people post in GTP's "How tall are you" threads because almost everyone uses the imperial system. You Britons would do the rest of us a favor by completely switching to metric.

We only use imperial for heights of people and like, miles to the galleon...

We use metric in engineering, but I couldn't go to kph :scared:

Why not? You'd get to see how many 1000 meter straights you could traverse in an hour with your current speed, instead of how many 1609 meter straights. :D

4pm GMT, My lounge, be there! After I get back from double History :(.

I think the driving inputs are very similar to GT5, although I have never pushed a car in real life so I don't know if GT5 is realistic to that extent...

i has6th form too... :(

I only got up to 42mph, but we were on country lanes so I didn't want to go much faster. But basically everything is very sensitive and takes a high level of precision to get it right- you also need to do about 3-4 things at one.

For example when you come up to a junction, you come of the gas and check you're mirrors, signal the way you wish to turn and begin lightly braking. As you brake down you have to clutch in and change down then when you come to a stop you clutch in and ease up on the brake. You then have to check the road is clear find the bite point on the clutch, steer and use a bit of gas to get away while slowly easing out the clutch and then you continue.

It's a hell of a lot to remember and do, but I'm certain I'll get it with practice and time. :)

...I'm just gonna buy a car with automatic tranny.

I guess that was your 1st experience with a clutch? :P

Yup. It's not that it's too hard, it just takes a lot of concentration. Although with practice it will become second nature. :)

No better feeling than shifting a car through the gears, especially on a proper sports car, where the gearbox is directly underneath the shifter so you can feel the gears change...

Yup that gearchange is really satisfying in that Hyundai Getz , I know what you mean though. Also power steering makes the steering ridiculously light- I don't like it. :(

Ahh, my grandparents have a Getz, gearchange feels so light and artificial...

On the cobra, though, it's just soo good... Not that I've ever changed the gears on it whilst driving. My dad won't let me drive that till I'm atleast 30. Lol

Yup, 1.4 litres of pure Korean muscle. Still it's a petrol :D.

Yeah the gearchange on our 2CV feels really nice too (long way from a Cobra I know, but it's undeniably cool )- it feels really mechanical- but then it is directly connected. :)
