Yeah the gearchange on our 2CV feels really nice too (long way from a Cobra I know, but it's undeniably cool)- it feels really mechanical- but then it is directly connected.
Yeah, it's a satisfying thing. The car I want (my 1st car) has pop up head lights, so that's something else I will get satisfaction out of.

I love replicas and kit cars.
What's not to love? You get a unique car built to your specifications with cheap insurance.
My dad built the cobra, unfortunatly they don't sell the quantum kit any more so we have to find one already built.

I've nothing against Kit-Cars as long as they've been well built as many are bodged together because people can't be bothered to do it properly. I mean look at JC in the Top Gear Caterham thing. And anyway it's not like most people can afford an original GT40 or Cobra.

My dads car is hardly a kit car though.
All he got from the manufacturer was a chassis and the body.
The rest he had to either make or get from other cars.
The rear end suspension is all Jaguar stuff, the engine is a bespoke 5.4L v8 that was actually made for the car...
Not really much of a 'kit'.
