That would have been me who kicked you. You weren't on my friends list, so I kicked you, because we're all full in the main room.

Join SohnVonStigs room, though if you want to race.

Wow, what a complete and utter ****ing buzzkill. I thought the race started at 6pm, same as qualifying. I put in multiple hours of practice for this, and was really looking forward to what should have been a blast of a race. I got confused because I thought the race was the same time as qualifying, at 6pm. Here is specifically what confused me:

"-Official Qualifying rooms will take place the Friday and Saturday before each race, at 6:00 PM EDT (Friday), and 6:00 PM EDT (Saturday)."

It CLEARLY says all races will be at 4:30 PM EDT a few lines down, so it's all my fault. I don't know why, but I just had 6PM EDT in my brain as race time today. What a total buzzkill. ****.

I watched the last few laps on Wardez's stream. It looked like such a great race!!! I wish I had time to dedicate to this :(:(:(. Congratulations to all on the great driving.

Bravo to everyone that raced today!
Huge props to Wardez for taking the 2 stop gamble. 👍

After the first couple laps I still hadn't made up my mind on whether 2 stops or 1 stop would be best. But once it was clear that there was no escaping the couple guys behind me(Brosif, Alien and Pierre), I figured I better try and make it into the pits when they weren't suspecting. So, I came in on lap 11, and lap 23 I think. Between lap 11 and lap 17 or 18 when El_Alien pitted I gained 10 seconds on him, taking my defecit from 30 seconds down to 20. Coming out of my pit on lap 23 I was 14 seconds behind, and I started sweating bullets! But then I got in a rhythm, set my best lap of the race on lap 28, and I knew I could reel him in after that.

Again, thanks to everyone for keeping it clean and showing respect to everyone else. It was probably one of the most nervous and fun race I've done in GT5. And thanks to Mule for hosting the event! 👍

Yeah Dapp thanks. You were killer here at the Suz.

I had the two stop in mind the whole time 'cause I pretty much knew it was the way to go to keep tire wear during the race to a minimum so I could stay in a rythmn.

It was just those times where I lost the draft on someone because they pitted differently than I that really got me.

I would be fine working with Pierre getting 2:03 after 2:03 but then he pitted out of nowhere and I was out there left alone... it was pretty devastating to your race pace to not be working with someone so I felt like a snail during those lonely moments.

I was able to work really well with Brandofo and Pierre, so props to them for being so considerate and clean.

Big kudos to Dapper for being able to hold his own as the tip of the arrow in this race, he really had to be on top of his game the whole race or it wouldn't have worked.

Alien had an amazing run doing the one stop, he was the only one that seemed to make it work.

I honestly thought nobody would dare trying the 1-stop.

18 laps on those tires? Insane.

Cami and I called off the B-Room Race, as it was down to just us two. Got in one of the best practice sessions I've ever had at least.

Congrats to Eers on the win, and Wardez, what from what I saw of your stream you looked really good out there, too. Great job guys. Unfortanately, I won't be participating in the next two due to real world commitments, but I'm looking forward to rejoining the series for the Mini Le Mans!

Here's hoping I can fare better on Autumn Ring Reverse. After getting the bad news about the B Lobby race being scrubbed, I was doing some practice on the degner Curves with my car in an attempt at fuguring out what I'm doing wrong. It seems it could be down to my driving style and the car setup. Maybe the tune that was suggested to me could work better for the next round. THough a little coaching on my driving and setup wouldn't be a bad idea.

Haha, I pulled a one stop race also. Definitely think I would have been better with a two stopper. I lost someone to draft with at lap 19 or 20 and it killed my laptimes compared to the front runners. Was a very interesting race and a ton of fun though. Still can't believe I caught Brosif and brandofo on 16 lap old tires at the end.

Did a few laps of Autumn Ring reverse. Left my setup from Suzuka on and it didn't work out too well. I had killed the rear tires after about 10 laps. I need some practice there anyway. I've never ran that track reversed.

It was rather calm in the middle of the field. I saw a few people here and there during pit stop juggling but it was a quiet day of 2'05-2'07 for 90% of my race.
I was planning a two stop from the beginning and came in on 12 and 23 with 40% rear 75% fronts. On my second stop I saw SLC go by and was wondering when I'd see him take his second stop... but I didn't see him until the last few laps when he was being a hero on raw tires.
GJ staying so clean in front of me the entire race Mule... The gap would ebb and flow but your consistency got the better of me. I was so frustrated after about 20 laps of your car on the horizon 1 turn ahead. :E If only I hadn't gotten turn 1 so horribly wrong on Lap 2. :-X
That was the first time I'd ever gone in there carrying the 10% bonus speed from the bump draft. I only got it like 95% right... which really isn't good enough in racing ;)

Good times, look forward to next week. I need to practice more before I get swallowed by aliens.

btw; missed you Forced. Too bad about the time screw up; that's exactly what I thought happened to you.

edit: oh, sorry for taking you on the dirty outside of the straight SLC_VR6. Dunno if it was lag or what but your car jinked like you were about to block toward the inside so I went for the outside and the car went bonkers when I got a wheel on the dirt. I figured motoring down the dirt was better than killing us both.

The whole race, I was just focused on keeping it on the track. I don't think I ever pushed the car, which is a first for me.

Sometimes my mind would try to wander off, and I'd think to myself "less thinking, more driving." It actually seemed to work.

I'd notice you getting closer to me, then all of a sudden, you're not there anymore. The last time was when we got by SLC. Your lap 2 spin was kind of bad for both us, really. We were right on the tail end of the draft of brandofo/Wardez/plate, and when I was by myself, I had no chance of catching them. But oh well.

Yeah, I almost shed a tear when I slid over the kerb.... I was all like:

because I knew those 10 seconds were going to turn into a minute... I thought you were going to hook onto the 3 man train up ahead though.

1'15.5 at Autumn Ring Reverse :D
It is really tough but really fun, too.

Whipped this up real quick 'cause I thought it was interesting to go through different people's tire wear at the end of the race.

Notice how some people's wear on two stop was so different according to suspension geometry they used.

As you could see, I had lots of tire left and when compared against EERS, he had burned his away a lot more by the end. This was because he didn't have a bunch of drafting buddies like my to ease off the wear as well as the fact that he was pushing really hard to catch up to Alien and you can see it right there in his wear.

Alien's rears were pretty much on the verge of dying at the very end, while Brosif, on the same strat., had more even tire wear and still could've probably pumped up mid '04 laps. And damn SLC what happened?

Truck it, here's everyone's fastest laps too 👍

Now, I present to you, in beautiful wonderful 720P high definition resolution films: Round 1 of E1C -

(directed and photographed by Wardez)

Congrats to Eers on the win and the rest of the guys up front. You all put in tremendous efforts. I on the otherhand had a few hurdles to jump which in result put me in the back of the pack. That lag by no means is my excuse but I fell behind like I was out on a Sunday drive picking up bread and milk. Took a good 6-8 laps before I could start putting down good lap times.

@ wardez, nice job as always with the live stream, the results as well as the tire chart. To answer ur question about my tires: I had an unfortunate spin coming out of the last chicane on lap 8 or 9 that put me into the pit entrance completely sideways. After a 4 or 5 point turn in the pit entrance i went in for some new rubber to continue on my journey to the grocery mart. Lol I didn't stop the rest of the way. 26-27 laps of tire wear u were seeing.

@ tnjf I was wondering what made u choose That line. I had the same problem with nepalli early on. Cars were jumping around in the back at the beginning. It was tough with that draft. At least while I was in one.
Thanks mule for a great start of what it looks like should be a great season. See u guys at autumn ring

Somewhat OT question @ wardez: OK, so how were you able to get that much video time uploaed onto your YouTube account? Did you have to pay a certasin ampunt of money per month to get that priviledge?

Back on-topic: Hopefully, I can get some time in this week on what I'm thinking would be a setup somewhat close to what was run at Tsukuba unless someone can let me know how the aforeposted setup is doing for Autumn RIng Reverse.

I'm not entirely sure how I got it Cam. I just always have. I've been signed up since 2005 so maybe since I never really messed with trying to upload bad stuff they gave me some sort of premium status.

I can upload up to ten hours of video and up to 25 gb.

Question is, think I'll ever need that much?

Do you? HUH?

I found it real interesting looking at how the front would wear out compared to the back.

And I didn't know about a bonus point for fastest lap. :ouch:
