1. Why did you chose to race at La Sarthe if you were so adamantly against bump drafting? You mentioned previously that you raced because it was on the schedule but the week prior you qualified for Laguna Seca and then didn't show up to race.
Like I said, it was on the schedule. Laguna Seca weekend I had to pick my kids up and didn't get home until around 6pm.

2. Seeing that you are so passionnate about the topic at hand, as evidenced by your numerous posts and unending persistence in keep this fire alive, why don't you compile a video of your own since you feel that Wardez's video fails to show the "several punts" on my part?
The video Wardez posted shows you do just what I said you did. Plus, I didn't save the replay. But then why would anyone jump a curb just to hit my rear quarter panel? Why would anyone hit me when there is a car passing me? Pretentious actions made by an immature driver were all shown in Wardez's video, followed by me getting you away from me. And sorry for not letting some arrogant kids talk 🤬 about me, especially when their driving habits are questionable at best.

3. This is merely a comment so you need not respond; of the top six finishers from last weekend's race, you were the only racer whose fastest lap failed to break into the 4:09s. In fact, you weren't even able to run a lap in the 4:10s. Your presence in the lead group not only held up its pace but it allowed others to rejoin after being several seconds behind. I caught the lead group on three seperate occassions and it was due to the fact you were unwilling to work with the racers around you to stretch the lead and capitalize on others' mistakes. In my opinion, that is rude and very dangerous.
I am pretty sure I was the only one up front the whole race. I never ran into anyone, including in the corners, yet I am rude and dangerous? I explicitly said if it was a problem I wouldn't race, yet you went out of your way to do what I asked you not to do. You were disrespectful and acted immature. And like I've already said, I'm not the only one who feels this way about you.

Fact of the matter is there are things that are unrealistic in GT5. Instead of trivializing those factors you, and the rest of the 'bump drafters' choose to maximize these flaws by choosing the tracks that these flaws are accentuated on, and then using unrealistic driving tactics making the problems much more exaggerated than they already are.

Whow, this is turning into something heated. Probably best to take it to PMs. But I will mention, if you don't like a certain track that was picked, don't race on it. I donno if it changed but Mule made it so that you don't have to attend every race. I might be wrong but I think he allowed everyone 2 freebie races which won't count to your final score which to me personally translates to a day off.

Anyways I can see many people are getting really angry at each other after each race which ruins the fun. I remember back in the day when everyone was just so happy to play GT5 online and have these big races. I myself have lost that touch awhile ago, getting angry at mishaps on the track, that is why I am taking a break from GT5/PS3 for the time being. It's summer, great weather, girlfriends (if you got one), real life friends, etc. I'm taking this time to enjoy my summer vacation and probably return to GT5 in the fall/winter months.

I recommend you all take a break from GT5 for awhile either now or once you finish this series. It will remind you that this is just a game and you get nothing for winning a race in a video game. You get bragging rights, but who really cares, honestly. Its good to be competitive but when you let your feelings get in the way, its no fun.

My 2 cents.

Very good race, very dense all the way through the race. Good, clean and very close racing first 10 laps. Brandofo lost time on lap 10 and i was behind him and he lost draft to the front runners, a shame as we could not catch up again. I have to say i use hood cam and i can not always see people behind me and i am sorry if i cut someone off or came close too as i can not always watch back, i have to see the road and cars in front too. Finished 5th again that is 3 out of 4 starts.

Gratz to Tony, once again amazing pace and win.

No better therapy than to have a great, extremely clean race. Not allowing people who Brake-check in your races = good idea. We're back to Suzuka levels of racing now.

In the end, though Tony spanked us all again. Winning by over 30 seconds. The battle for 2nd which I had the pleasure of watching was intense.

@Dapper - All I can say is that I appreciate your thoughts and I love your passion.

A pretty clean race overall. My day was devoid of drama save for one or two minor slip-ups. Mac was drafting behind me for a few laps and we both pitted on Lap 23. I managed to pull away from him and I started eating away at brandofo but ran out of laps.

I'm going to have to read some tuning guides because what I have right now is not working for me. Too much understeer overall which gets much worse when I'm behind someone.

On a side note, had some fun running the X2010 on Trial Mountain after we were done. I scared myself by running about 10 consecutive laps without crashing and all within the 48-50 second range.

(oops this is wardez, I posted with Denilson's account by accident lmao)

Yeah you're wicked in an X'10. Couldn't hold a candle to your pace.
Congrats to Tony on a dominant win!

Anyway, I had an amazing work out of a race with Alien and Wiifreak all bunched together on the last laps. I had ok pace and managed to cut through the field through out the race. Those first 20 laps just flew by so fast I didn't even realize I needed to pit. I pitted with Wiifreak and when we came out on lap 22 Alien joined us and split us right up. Then it was a drafting battle where I would bump him, pass him, get passed, bump again then on lap 33 I decided to try and pass again and hopefully have it stick. I had better pace toward the end since my tires were slightly better off than Alien's I guess. I kept my composure, put in some fast laps towards the end and was able to just manage to keep him on the edge of my draft.

When it came down to the last sector of the race I was sure I had it by a good margin. But going down the hill he was catching up fast - through the kink and onto the straight he was right beside me and I held my breath for the finish. I beat him by 6 thousandths of a second.

AND THIS WAS FOR SECOND.

Most amazing finish I've had in the series. What a super clean awesome run.

Rome is going to be very interesting. Was running some laps on it just now.

Turn 4, which is going to be the best passing point on the track has a little dip in it on the normal racing line. I never noticed it before, but it can really upset these cars and cause them so snap loose. I lost a couple of good laps because of it.

Was able to get down to a 1:10.5. I think I'll do much better here than at Trial Mountain today.

Scale your track map to "2". You can use it as sort of a quasi rear view mirror.

Works for me. 👍

I do the same thing. I stumbled upon it about a month ago and it makes side-by-side racing a lot easier. 👍

From my perspective, it looked like you were trying to go 100% right off the bat. I was doing the same thing but when I kept crashing, I decided to take it very slowly and build up my speed. I almost got into a trace-like state on that long stint, clicking off the laps like it was nothing.

On a side note, I only have a bronze in the Vettel challenges although I only spent about 3 hours on it.

great race yesterday and good clean driving from everyone. there were some great battles i was involved in where we were driving so close to each other without touching. it was a lot of fun.

i started 12th and made up a few positions at the start. i was keeping up with the group that had wiifreak, brosif, eeron, and wardez for about 15 laps. i hit the wall entering the tunnel on the back straight and lost brosif and wiifreak. then i made another minor mistake and lost eero. i never saw them again after that. i pitted with plate and kept up with him for about half of the second stint, but he pulled away and i could never catch back up again. outlaw was steadily making ground on me during the final laps but i was able to drive clean and keep the gap on him to finish 7th.

That's exactly what I do. Seems to be the best scale for knowing if you can move across track without clipping someone. 👍

As far as my race goes I just really want to get one race in this car without a bad mistake.
I was going easy at the start following outlaw and we both ended up giving up positions to wardez and brando (like me it looked like outlaw wasn't in the mood to fight people off on lap 2). So I just settled in behind outlaw and took some time to learn how to drive in the draft (the lotus had such bizarre handling through sector 1 in someone's draft).
By lap 6 it looked obvious that outlaw was losing pace to the lead group (minus tony he doesn't count, he was long checked out already) so I need to pass. I was pushing hard to stay on his bumper through sector 1 on lap 7 so I could setup a pass but then the rear end got light and snapped around as we were cresting the hill at the end of the turn 4 tunnel. Almost saved it but we were racing so close together that the unavoidable nudge came from behind and finished me off. Racing accident... day over... :(

read the OP. Mule said you can't skip Le Sarthe. That's the only reason I qualified and took the grid.

Got down to a 1:10.055 last night on Rome. A 1:09 was possible, but I lost some time on the last turn.

Wouldn't be surprised to see some low 1:08's from you guys come quali time.

I have gotten into 1.09.1. Now I ruined everything with some changes and Im getting 1.09.4! GRRRR! I forgot the old setup! :banghead:

got it down to a 1:09.58 after realizing i was braking too early into turn 1.

me and nepali ran some 10 lap races earlier and i can tell you the action on this course is going to be amazing. we were pulling of passes in almost every section of the track and driving inches apart full throttle through the turns.

the best passing spots are obviously the two long straights, but you can find your way around on turn 1 and 2 as well as the final sector. you can also get away with minor errors and still draft back into the pack. tire wear was not an issue after 10 laps. rome is going to be a great race.

when in rome...

You can basically pass anywhere. We passed on every turn, really looking forward for this track!

Well except that one, whoever would get by the inside on the straight before that was always slowing down. If you try to pass there, its gonna end up on a disaster :) Even though I think I remember passing brando once by the outside. Im not sure if i did it, but if i really did it I promise I wont do it on the race! Its not safe at all

Hey Mule are we gonna start a vote on adding the extra track soon?

I think we should do it soon to avoid confusion and such.

I'll get all that done tomorrow. Voting will be open for a week after that.

nepalii on that chicane i have managed to do a round the outside pass on Corey i dont remember what cars we were in though... but it was just lucky i rekon as everytime i tried again it failed (also when corey tried it he failed too)

you basically just have to get a good drive into the back straight and you will pass the car in front in time to assume track position entering the downhill chicane

going two-wide into the chicane will be a disaster for sure

You can brake early and cut inside someone as they're taking the wide line out toward the kerb (think over-under line). Only safe way I've ever passed there, but it takes some nerve and good timing. Unless it's the last lap, there's plenty of opportunity elsewhere.

aaaaaaaaaaalright guys.

Because of how awesome these cars are, and as a special thanks to you guys for coming out to race every week, we've decided to give you guys a bonus race.

This race will take place August 21st, pushing the Nurburgring finale back to August 28th. If you can't make either of these dates, that's fine, because you'll now be dropping your 2 lowest results from your points total.

The track will be up to you guys. Wardez's original idea was to use Monaco, but (mainly because I'm not a fan of street circuits LOL), I've decided to grab a list of tracks not on the calendar that I think the car would do well on, and have you guys vote. So here we go:

Grand Valley Speedway (reverse, possibly)
Cape Ring South
Nurburgring GP/F (Works as a nice preview for the following week's finale. Kind of like how Nascar has the All-star race, then the 600 miler at Charlotte)
Monaco
Tokyo R246
A Custom track, based on Mt. Aso, which is now Online and ready for download. I highly encourage you to try it out before you vote.

Voting will be open for a week, unless everybody's voting Monaco or something

So we're voting by text? No poll? You can start up a separate thread for a track vote poll if you'd like.

That's how I was planning on it. Otherwise, we'll probably have randoms voting in the poll.

Nurburgring GP/F i vote its a epic track very good for overtaking also ;)
