Mad Max 4 - Fury Road

That trailer is soooo epic !!!! Im a bit concerned of CGI used on the tornado and thunder sequence but everything else looks like Road Warrior.

I hate it that they have to destroy the interceptor again
 
I'll be interested to see how this one turns out. I have faith though as Miller is directing it so his vision should still be there.
As it stands the chronological order of the first films happen to be how I personally rate them also. Must admit that I'm biased to the original though as a lot of it was filmed very close to where I live.

Just last year I was riding my bike past here and lo and behold there sat a yellow MFP Interceptor with two guys and a girl standing next to it taking some photo's. I stopped and had a quick chat and they told me they were in town for some sort of reunion for the original film. Apparently the car was an original from the movie, though I can't confirm this it did look the business.
Still regret not asking them to take a photo of myself and the car on my phone for a keepsake.
 
I surely hope the Interceptor returns in the seqel of Fury Road. I mean the DBS in Craig era 007 showed up again in Quantum of Solace even though it got wrecked in Casino Royale, the Charger in FF series kept showing up in almost every movie even though it got flipped, buried, and t-boned. It came back in FF7. Surely this one can come through too.
 
Craig's DBS was actually a second car.

The sequence where the Interceptor gets destroyed looks like the finale set-piece, so I imagine it would undergo a similar rebuild.

As much as i want that to happen. I cant see how its the finale, its shows Max still had the long hair when he was crawling out of the Interceptor, then the gangs captured him and torture him etc... It clearly showed that it was in the beginning of the film from what i see.
 
Maybe (given it's meant to take place between 1 and 2) they'll retcon in that there was a second Interceptor kept somewhere. Given that in 2 (supposedly that's after Fury Road) you see it get obliterated.

Is it supposed to be between 1 and 2 ? I never really read Miller actually saying it. I thought Miller said this is somekind of another story that doesn't really connected to the first trilogy, kinda like how 007 movies does.

That's what I had read. But given the rather unorthodox production period of this film anything could happen.

Some said it was the same script as the cancelled 2003 version with Mel Gibson, some other said it is different. I'm leaning towards the first though.
 
If this is supposed to have sat in between 1 & 2, I'd like to see more about the breakdown of the society, rather than just skipping to the post-apocalyptic style of 2 and 3. I think that's where there is more scope for interest, rather than just a pretty formulaic chase across the desert.

Well that's the impression I'm under, and there is a lot to be told in that period but I suppose we just have to wait.

A bit concern how Max used a handgun in the trailer, but after seeing this badass pic, all doubts are gone...

Notice that Nicholas Hoult's character wore Max's Leather Jacket here..

The thing is there were always guns in mad max but they were hard to come by a bit, as was the ammo (Mad Max 2). However, they never ruled out that one couldn't be found, I mean after four movies him finding a hand gun is far more legit than F&F with the Charger and somehow finding the time to always build a new one while on the run.

I meant that Max rarely or never used a handgun in the trilogy, so seeing him using one feels a bit odd because its the first time.

Oh I see what you mean, in that case yeah it was strange. I'm only use to seeing him use the double barrel sawed-off

Can some scenes be flashbacks? Max wearing that mask and carrying someone while he has the leg brace(I can't see it from the pic above the other post) and short haircut seem to suggest that.

The original poster. We never got to see Max like this. Though, Lord Humongous had a gang member in pursuit clothes. Could be a rouge Pursuit officer Max comes together with or he just stole the uniform.
 
@05XR8 , there's some flashback scenes according to news article about the movie, but what you're talking about earlier with the mask and everything, it
is told in the comic con extended footage (that we didnt get to see unless we are the attendees there) that after the long haired Max got captured, they shave his hair and put him in front of a car that is driven by the guy that he carried in the picture (his name is Nux). Sometime Nux tries to commit suicide by blowing himself and Max up from the car, somehow Max managed to untie himself and grab Nux but a bit too late. The car got blown up (or crash) and they got thrown out of the car. The next scene suddenly comes up that Max is carrying Nux, probably keeping him save for whatever reason since there is a picture of Nux with Imperator Furiosa and the 5 wives (the models wearing white dresses in the trailer) in one car.

Well supposedly Humongous was to originally be Goose but they scrapped that idea, and seemed to play more homage to the idea in certain ways. So it's not surprising really.
