Wow, PD/SCE actually seem to be teasing about upcoming in-game content. I'm genuinely surprised!

Indeed. Both also failed to notice that you do not list 0's for no reason, hence why it looks like 5800km.

Didn't realise a single sentence 'joke' could throw the thread off topic but there you go.
You do when you have a series of pictures of tracks with different lengths where the 0's might has to be used.

Watched the slide show, was disappointed during one slide where PD spelled championship as "champmionship". That was still not as bad as spelling mourn as "morn" in the Senna announcement.

I've just noticed the Dutch Senna tribute page (http://www.gran-turismo.com/nl/senna/) has an extra line in the text compared to the UK version (http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/senna/) when talking about the content in the game:

Dit introductiefilmpje kun je ook in Gran Turismo 6 bekijken na update 1.07, die binnenkort verschijnt.

Which translates to:

This introduction video you can also see in Gran Turismo 6 after update 1.07, which will be published soon.

Probably the option to view the slideshow(s) and tributevideo in GT6 are the contents of the 14th may update.

I just so knew this was gonna be the case, along with other members here. I wonder if this new version will include anything else or other undocumented changes, like which has happened with other updates in the past.

Hope @Johnnypenso is on hand to make a thread when ready~ 👍
Hope I wasn't being pushy!

"on tracks like the Brands Hatch GP circuit and the Italian circuit of Monza, which have been given a complete makeover in order to restore their original layouts from the '80s."

Serious question, as I am curious about this, rather than simply cynical of PD here...

So, are they additional tracks themselves, or are the regular on-the-disc tracks now temporarily 80's layouts for the month of May ?

I'm assuming that they have to be new tracks added, in their own right yea ?

Either way, i'm very happy for new content soon

Likely means they are additional tracks as opposed to the current ones being permanently turned into 80s layouts.

When was it announced that there will be a May 14th update? I've seen no mention of this, perhaps I missed it.

PD never gave a specific date; but there has been an update after every "server maintenance" announcement, so everyone (including me) assumes one is coming.

i am looking at the us gt website and it says the content is to be introduced in a late May update..

http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/news/00_8828738.html

quoting directly from this website-"The special "Ayrton Senna Tribute" website will allow fans to follow the life of Senna through videos and a two-part slide show, leading up to the release of more in-game racing content in the latter half of May. "

also this article on Joystiq which quotes the date at 27th May...not sure where they got their info from..

I think the slideshow and video will be implemented in a smaller update tommorow and the Senna content on the 27th as stated on PS Blog.

Also Amar is teasing stuff on NeoGaf:
Significant developments are preparing, one of them will be unprecedented in the series history. I think it will be announced sooner than later.

My ears were burning:cheers: Assuming someone doesn't beat me to the punch I'll be on it.

Just to clarify, I assume an update is coming, whether or not it contains the Senna Tribute remains to be seen.

Interesting what Amar has to say, I wonder what this "unprecedented" development will be? E3 isn't too far away, and I bet they'd announce it there. I'm still not convinced in the rumors of a GT announcement for the PS4 yet.

As of now, all we know is maintenance is coming, but the odd time frame hints that there may be something else coming too. If there is an update, I imagine it'll contain the Senna content, but it won't unlock until the 27th.

Every time I saw a maintenance announcement, an update appeared right after, so it's pretty fair to assume this will be the case tomorrow...

I think there will be an update, but it won't be the Senna content. On the PS blog it says the 27th for the Senna content.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/05/12/gran-turismo-6-relive-sennas-legendary-moments/

I've mentioned this once before, but I think it's possible that the Senna content won't interrupt the normal monthly updates.

Course Maker! :D

I wish...

I would die a little. Then I'd have to quit my job and cancel my vacation so I could play GT6 for the rest of my life.

It is Porsche.

"unprecedented in the series history..."

Please be Porsche.

E3 - "Beautiful PS4 trailer, starts with moon over the castle, a car, in the night... rain... beautiful effects, graphics better than Driveclub, perfect smoke and all... beautiful engine sounds, then it shows the car: yellow Porsche GT3" - GTPlanet goes offline for a week.

I can dream eh?

Now, serious... I think we are going to have some other stuff in the update @ May 14. As the Senna challenges are set to be online @ May 27.

A new brand wouldn't really be an "unprecedented significant development" in the eyes of most people. I definitely don't think Amar would describe it like that.
