The Astros were up 5-1, then 6-4, and ultimately lost 10-6 to Minnesota. Eight losses away from 100 as the baseball gods keep s:censored:ing on my Houston Astros. We are 45-92 now.

I keep an eye on scores almost every day, and I notice the Astros get ahead in games a lot and give them up at the end. Relief pitchers must be as bad as ours.

Anyway, DBacks losing 2-0 and going to drop to 12.5 games down. Dodgers already won the division, might as well hand it to them now.

Edit: 4-0 now, 🤬

Edit 2: lost 4-1. Season over, stick a fork into us.

Pathetic game. The Rangers had several runners reach base today, only one of them came across to score on Murphy's 2-run shot. We even had the BASES LOADED with 1 out at one point. And first and second with nobody out in the 9th...stranded. F:censored:ING PATHETIC!!!

The offense is going into another slump, and with this happening against Oakland, they'll probably choke away the division. Get your s**t together Texas.

Somehow the Reds managed to take the first game of four from the Cards today. Latos pitched a complete game and we decided to finally put some runs on the board for once.

All of this still doesn't change the fact that we lost the last 2 series to the Cards and Brew Crew (I mean, really??), and will again likely still lose the series the Cards again despite winning game 1.

All I can hope for at this point is that we get the 2nd wildcard spot (as poor R1600Turbo's D'backs have just tanked), the Pirates win the division, and the Cards inevitably put us out of our misery in the one game playoff. My worry, of course, is that the Cards win the division, we beat the Pirates in the one playoff game, then we get stomped 3 times by the Cards. Either way, it'll be bad.

A new series and the same depressing result. :( The Tribe loses game 1 of 3 to the Orioles today 2-7. Still losing ground to the Tigers and slowly losing more ground in the wildcard. :nervous:

A season ending crash on behalf of the Tribe ? It's not looking to favorable either as far as the schedule is concerned. There are some tough roads ahead of us. We're not completely out of the chase as of yet. There is some glimmer of hope, but the timer is now running down on the Tribe. :indiff:

2 already stranded tonight...gonna be a long game. :(

For those wondering, we stranded ELEVEN runners yesterday. Pathetic.

EDIT-make it 4. Runners on second and third with one out...stranded. :banghead:

EDIT-RANGERS FINALLY BROUGHT A RUNNER HOME!! Mitch Moreland hit a solo shot last inning to tie it. Craig Gentry beat out an infield hit deflected off of Colon's bare hand. Jurickson Profar hit a deep ball to the right field corner, and Gentry was able to score thanks to his speed and Michael Choice misjudging the ball.

Ian Kinsler just did the same thing as Gentry, and the trainer is out there. 1 out, runners on the corners. We need runs.

I feel like an Astros fan now.

Sorry John. :P

Edit: I am astounded by how easy we hit into double plays, aka rally killers. Just when I think we got something going, oh hey look a double play.

Rangers actually came around to score some runs...3 of them in fact. As already said, they lead 4-1 in the 7th.

Other news and headlines....

-The Pirates clinch their first winning season in 20 years.
-Max Scherzer gets hit with a rare loss. The Red Sox gave him loss number 2 of the season. My Rangers gave him the other.
-Adam Dunn is only 33 with 436 homers, but he is considering retirement after this season.
-Speaking of retirement, Joe Girardi has plans to talk to Mariano Rivera about coming back for a 20th season this offseason.
-The wildcard race in the AL is heating up...the ROYALS have snuck into the hunt, just 4 games behind the Rays. The Indians and Yankees are still in the hunt.

Amazingly, the Reds beat the Cards again tonight by a score of 1-0. Homer pitched a fantastic game. And the speedster Billy Hamilton finally made his major league debut as a pinch runner, promptly stealing 2nd, and coming around to score on a Frazier double for the game's only score. He could be a valuable asset to the team as a runner in close situations for the stretch run to the postseason, though we haven't been able to hit with runners in scoring position to save our lives this season. I guess tonight we just got lucky. But hey, at least we can't lose this Card series; at worst it would be a split. :sly:

The Twins needed 12 innngs to finally finish us off. We tied the game at 6-6 in the Bottom of the 9th after trailing for most of the game. On a day where Pittsburgh assured its first non-losing season since 1992, we f:censored: up and failed again. 9-6, Minnesota Twins. This losing s:censored: is getting m:censored:f:censored:ing old for this 51-year old franchise. Series finale is Wednesday afternoon before heading off to Oakland for a four-game weekend series.

And by the way... congratulations, Pittsburgh.

Rangers regain sole possession of first place in the AL West by topping Oakland 5-1. Mitch Moreland and Alex Rios went yard. The Rangers offense still had some trouble with runners on base, but they were able to get 3 runs in the 5th inning, off of Bartolo Colon (literally). Martin Perez had another great outing, going 7 strong innings allowing 1 run and collecting 5 K's. I remember him starting one of the final 3 games against Oakland last year...he did not fare so well. I bet the Oakland fans were expecting the A's lineup to light him up again. He has improved majorly since then.

Maybe you should play some Grand Theft Auto. I mowed down about 300 people tonight with an SUV in Central Park. I feel a little better.

Rangers already down 2-0...Yu Darvish has walked 4 just through the 2nd inning. This is gonna be a long game...

Something I forgot to report from last night, we picked up Atlanta catcher Matt Pagnozzi and cash considerations. This is key because he started today for my Astros.

The Astros have had no problem with runs in this MIN at HOU series. They've unfortunately been on the losing end... until today. We won 6-5 in a game that just wrapped up. The Astros were apparently up 3-0 in heading into the 3rd inning until the Twins drew even at 3-3. The game ended up going to a 5-5 tie in the Top of the 9th. An RBI single by Trevor Crowe to score J. Villar ended up giving us the win to avoid getting swept. Jordan Lyles was the starter, but it was Erik Bedard who won. Brian Duensing was the Twins' loser.

We've now won game #46. Astros are now 46-93 and about to embark on a four-game weekend series at Oakland. Rangers fans... don't get your hopes up on my Astros trying to rattle Oakland's brains a bit to give you a better track on the AL West crown. Just handle your business.

That's it...Rangers now trail 5-2. The Rangers wasted a golden oppurtunity last inning (what's new) with runners on 2nd and 3rd...they were originally 1st and 2nd with nobody out thanks to an error, then bunted over. Profar got caught in a rundown, and Kinsler flew out.

With the way the offense has been, a comeback isn't going to happen. The Rangers coming into today were 3-38 w/ RISP. Or an .079 average...PATHETIC. :banghead:

EDIT: 9-2 now...TV has been turned off. 🤬

Red Sox just destroyed the Tigers 20-4...TWENTY RUNS. 8 homeruns for the Sox, and Big Papi got his 2000th hit.

WHAT
I stopped watching in 6th inning and it was 5-4!

Sounds like overmatched coed softball game scores.

Big news, Dodgers are losing right now. That is one terminator of a team, man. Un-frigging-believable. :ouch: Braves lost tonight. I think the Cards actually beat the Reds? Please Dodgers, please lose. I don't want to hear any more crap from the Dodgers fans at work.

Reds-Cards game has turned into a marathon. After no scoring since the 6th inning, both teams decided to put up a run in the 14th. I turned the TV off after the home run by Matt Adams. Found out we somehow tied it back up in the bottom of the inning. But I'm still not turning the TV back on.

Edit: Choo caught trying to steal home in the bottom of the 15th. On to the 16th. Good lord.
