I jinxed the Rangers...Garza just gave up 5 runs. :banghead:

Elsewhere, the Royals are getting destroyed by Detroit...16-2. Pirates are getting destroyed as well...12-1 Cards.

Not sure when the Reds are going to fall back to earth. Took 3 of 4 (the loss being the 16 inning game) and the first game against the Dodgers. I guess it has to due with how stellar our pitching has been. A couple of the wins have been low scoring affairs.

Giants P Yusmeiro Petit has a perfecto going through 7. Just gonna turn the Ranger game off and watch MLB Network.

EDIT-make that 8. 24 up, 24 down. 3 outs to go.

Elvis Andrus homered while I had it on MLB Network. CJ was just pulled.

And back to MLB Network for history.

Dodgers lose and we're failing to capitalize in big way. No hit through 5.

Get your eyes off the division and look to the wild card... That's the only hope for the D-backs. Too bad the Dodgers hurt you by losing to one of the wild card teams today.

Wonder what went through his head when he saw that the outfielder didn't get the ball...

I think it was worse than Yu Darvish's near-perfecto earlier this year (which was also lost on the 27th batter). His was lost by a base hit up the middle. Petit's was lost on an attempted diving catch that was VERY close.

Now back to the Rangers...another RISP stranded in the 8th. I hope the Angels bring in Ernesto Frieri in the 9th...they love him.

No offense to him, but Pence is a lanky, goofy dude. I wonder had it been someone else out there (with a teeny bit more speed), they would have been able to get the ball?

Maybe, but I don't know Pence that well.

Frieri's in the game. If the Rangers can't comeback against him I'm going to be pissed.

Kinsler swung at ball 4 to end the game. 🤬:banghead:

Astros trailing Oakland 7-4. I think it's all downhill from here for Texas...it seems like they want to choke away the AL West for the second straight year.:grumpy:

I hope Ron Washington has another hour-long closed door meeting with the team. That helped them go on a tear in August.

You would be in 2nd, half a game out. Dont complain, at least you have a shot.

True. But after what happened last year, it's just irritating to me to see the Rangers play like this when the games mean so much. It's going to be hard to keep pace with Oakland.

Oakland has their own issues with pitching, including a closer who likes to make the 9th inning interesting as was the case tonight. He's a bit wild.

The rally wasn't enough. Down 7-4 at one point, we ultimately fell 7-5. With the OAK at HOU series now at 1-1, Game 3 of 4 will be a Saturday afternoon match. So another Astros fail. Yay...

Joe Nathan can relate to him that way. He may be good on paper, but his outings can go either way...either a perfect 1-2-3 inning or getting out of a bases-loaded situation to close the game out. You really just never know with him.

Obie pitched another great game today. 6 innings, 1 run, 5 k's, 100 pitches. Zied came in and gave up a run though... hopefully we can score some runs. 2-1 in bottom of the 8th.

Lucky for me the Rangers start an hour earlier tonight, at 8:05. Derek Holland needs to bounce back after his rough start in Oakland.

Astros failed again. 2-1 loss at Oakland. Either a series win for OAK or a series split will be assured after tomorrow's game.

Holland has already given up 3 runs. :grumpy:

Hope the Astros can win tomorrow.

5-2 Angels...this Texas team went from red hot to ice cold. We lost 2 of 3 to the Twins, A's, and now probably the Angels. The offense is failing to execute...they ground into double plays, swing at HORRIBLE pitches, and strand runners in scoring position. And with the exception of Martin Perez, the starting pitching has gone south. Garza, Darvish, and Holland all had disappointing starts this week.

Ron needs to have another closed-door meeting with the team before things get out of hand. Might jump on the Dodgers bandwagon.

3 of 4 from the Cards and the first 2 against the Dodgers. I think if the Redlegs win tomorrow and the Bengals pull off a win against the Bears too, Hell may just freeze over.
