Rangers take game 2 of 4 against the Angels 5-3, and are now riding a 5 game winning streak.

They gained a game on Tampa in the wildcard race, as Toronto beat them 6-3. Cleveland, on the other hand, is thrashing Minnesota 12-6 in the 9th. Tampa and Cleveland are tied, and Texas is just one game back of both.

Astros lost 3-2 to the Yankees on Friday. We might as well wear white the rest of this season because all we're doing is surrendering. Something is wrong when you are always on the losing end of a score. Oh, and that losing streak ballooned to, what... 13 games now?

While the Astros (for all intents and purposes) happily concede defeat and surrender the season, congratulations to all other winners.

Rangers piling it on the Angels again, 7-4 in the bottom of the 5th. Tampa leads Toronto 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, and the Indians/Twins game is delayed.

EDIT-Toronto takes a 3-1 lead. Come on Jays!

I'm thinking some Game 162 is coming back to visit. Maybe it will hurt the Rays instead of help them this time.

So...here are the scenarios if there are ties.

If the Rays and Rangers are tied, Texas will host Tampa Monday night. Winner goes to Cleveland on Wednesday.

If there is a 3 way tie, Team A (Tampa) would travel to Team B (Cleveland) on Monday night. The winner would host the wild card game on Wednesday, while the loser will travel to Team C (Texas) on Tuesday. The winner of that game will be the second wild card.

If all 3 teams win tomorrow, Tampa will play in Arlington Monday night. If the Rangers lose and the Rays win, Texas is out. If the Rangers and Rays win, but the Indians lose, refer to above. If both the Rays and Rangers lose, the tiebreaker game will be played Monday in Arlington.

Man, this is fun...

As much as I hate to say it, congrats to the Cardinals in winning the tough NL Central division. And as expected, the Reds lost to the Pirates again today, which means the one game playoff will be away in Pittsburgh. Our pitching managed to cough up 6 home runs :scared:, though 5 were off of Arroyo. He had been better about giving up the long ball this year. Guess he wanted to finish his pitching season in spectacular fashion.

The AL wildcard race sure sounds interesting. Good luck to all involved. 👍

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson:

"This is going to be a good one."

Astros failed for the 14th straight time, losing 2-1 to the Yankees tonight. We have one last chance this season to snap this losing streak. Astros need a heavy amount of soul searching in the offseason regardless.

Damn Yankees!

Hoping for a 3 way tie just for more free baseball.

Detroit is being no hit right now, but the team they are playing can't score so this may not end well.

Detroit gives a walk-off WP for a CG No Hitter for Alvarez. Miami sweeps Detroit.

This game is intense. Angels struck first, then Texas rallied to take a 2-1 lead, then LA rallied to tie it, and now Texas is rallying again with a 3-2 lead and runners on 2nd and 3rd. It's not even the postseason yet but it feels like a postseason game atmosphere-wise.

WE'RE NOT DONE YET!! The Rangers complete a 6-2 victory over the Angels, and a perfect 7-0 homestand to close out their 162 game season to force game 163 against Tampa tomorrow night here in Arlington.

It isn't over, but it might as well be. Astros and Yankees went into extras tied at 1. Now as of this initial reply, it's 5-1, Yankees in the Top of the 14th. Way to end a season (pending an epic comeback)- 15 straight losses. The Astros will start next season hosting the Yankees for three. So a LONG offseason awaits the Astros once this s:censored:ty 2013 season ends.

[UPDATE] The worst season in Astros history is finally over. We lost 5-1 to the New York Yankees in 14 innings. NYY decided to wake the hell up in extras and hammer HOU like their lives depended on it. Meanwhile, we finish the season on a 15-game losing streak.

I'll go cry in the corner or break some things now. The Astros finish the 2013 season 51-111. Bloody m:censored:f:censored:ing shame!!!

The Tribe made it. 👍:):D:cool:

They avoided the doomsday scenario. This now leaves Texas and T-Bay to play game #163 on the season. It's win or go home time on Monday night.

Who's going to make it ?

*hoping for Texas*

It will be Martin Perez against David Price tomorrow night. And guess who will be back tomorrow?

Nelson Cruz!

On another note, the Rangers have usually handled Price well. I remember being at a game last year where they absolutely lit him up.

One of the few nights I wished the Cardinals would've lost. Braves lost their home field, should they meet. NL should be interesting. Best of luck to the Rangers. I hope they get in. 👍

Who will win tonight's AL Tiebreaker? Tonight's match is between the Rays at Rangers. The pitching duel will be Price (TB) vs. Pérez (TEX). Winner gets Cleveland on Wednesday. Loser... better luck next season. This is Sudden Death, basically.

I'm for the Rays. Picked them and Indians for wildcard spots before season started... plus I hate the Rangers.
Plus David Price is awesome...

I'm obviously going for Texas. Though, we have a slight advantage if you think about it. Like I said, the Rangers have handled Price well. In 8 regular season starts against Texas, he is 1-4 with a 5.98 ERA, and 0-3 with a 4.66 ERA in 3 postseason starts. At Rangers Ballpark, he is 1-2 with a 10.26 ERA through 16.2 IP. In those innings, he has allowed 19 earned runs on 25 hits.

Martin Perez might be a rookie, but if you watch him pitch, you wouldn't think he is. While Darvish, Holland, and Garza were not pitching well, Perez was. He racked up a 6 game winning streak. In that streak, he had a 2.76 ERA, a .238 opponent average, and only 11 walks through 42.1 IP.

Another weapon we have now is Nelson Cruz...he will be the DH tonight.

No Matt Kemp for the playoffs. :(
Both teams seem to be stumbling into the Playoffs. I'm not confident in the Braves, but I'm not gonna lie, I am somewhat relieved that the Dodgers aren't exactly red hot going in.

Edit: Go Rangers!

This umpire has a horrible strike zone. Strikes are balls for Texas pitching, and balls are strikes for Tampa pitching. 👎
