A note from the Milwaukee at Atlanta game... Carlos Gomez gets a homer off of ATL. Gomez ended up jawing off at the Braves as he was trotting the bases. Coming around to Home Plate, he starts getting in one of the Braves The benches cleared, and a few players from ATL and MIL were ejected.

Oh, and Milwaukee- like my Astros- are not going to anybody's playoffs this season (I think they're 4th in the NL Central, some 20+ games behind); so this is really silly by the Brew Crew. If you saw this incident, what do you think about how this deal played out?

National League

MVP: Jose "Que" Fernandez
Cy Young Award: Jose "Grande" Fernandez
Rookie of the Year: Jose "Cojon" Fernandez

In other news, Carlos Gomez and Reed Johnson were both suspended one game for their actions yesterday.

Carlos Gomez was just being a jackass last night. You don't go show up the other team after blasting a Home Run, like you're trying to say, "now who's bad?" Being part of a non-playoff team (MIL) trying to show up a playoff team (ATL) is just foul and ludicrous.

Elsewhere, Bud Selig is announcing he will retire next year. How will you remember or regard Bud Selig once he retires?

This. x1000000000

I replaced the typo in my original post. I was kind of in a hurry posting on the lovely GTPlanet app on my Android device. Thanks for setting me straight. But still- Carlos Gomez was just being an idiot in my view.

Maybe Pete Rose will finally get into the Hall like he deserves to be compared to these J******es that we call modern day players that dope up like A-Fraud.

The Tribe was able to get both games from the ChiSox 5-4 & 7-2 in the last set. Currently playing the last series of the year against the Twins.
Game 1 - Tribe is up 5-0 / bottom of the 7th.

Still hanging in there with T-Bay for the 1st place spot in the Wildcard race. Texas is still looming in there, can't count them out.

This is going to be a nerve racking weekend. :nervous:

Good Luck to all of you in this ... the final weekend of the '13 MLB season.

Edinson Volquez batting against Tim Lincecum was one of those most pathetic ABs I have ever seen.

^
They gave the Tribe a run tonight, but fell short by 1. They put up 4 in the 9th.

Final : Cleveland 6 - Minnesota 5

So Mariano Rivera says he'd like to, just once, play center field for the Yankees before he hangs it up for good. Given that the Yankees are in Houston for a totally meaningless series, I would say why not; it would be something worth watching IMO.

Enjoy the final series of this regular season. Better luck next season if your team is out of it or not at least mathematically eligible to make the postseason.

I'm really hoping he does. He'll get a nice ovation.

I bet he gets a ball hit onto Tals Hill

Game tomorrow has been moved to a starting time of...11am. The reason why is because of the threat of inclement weather tomorrow.

Welp, with the help of the Reds god awful offense, we have lost 3 in a row. That means we must now win the last 2 games against the Pirates if we want home field advantage for the 1 game playoff. I'm feeling a sweep, followed by the 1 playoff game loss. :grumpy:
