Pitchers duel today or nobody wants to win, one of the two. Going to the bottom of the 9th, tied 0-0.

Edit: Walk-off single, Paul Goldschmidt. :D

It was 4-1 in Anaheim as my Astros failed again. I predicted the Angels either sweeping or winning this series, and I was right. Next for my Astros is a three-game set at the Oakland Athletics. Or should I say... the more unattractive of the two Bay Area ballparks.

4-8 is the record for the Astros as of now.

Aaaand the Red's losing streak goes to 5 games after blowing a 5-0 lead after 6 innings. Latos got into some trouble in the 7th giving up 3, and Broxton gave up 6 in the 8th. The Pirates had a horrid hitting average, team wise, before the series. The Reds helped them out. We are terrible right now. Whenever we get a lead or tie a game up after being down, we immediately blow it. The bullpen that was best in the majors last season looks like a AAA team, Chapman aside. At least Dusty didn't try to put Hoover in the game today. Obviously he's been trying to ruin his arm. After starting the season 5-2, I am not happy (if you couldn't tell).

The Tribe takes 2/3 from the ChiSox in this weekends set.

W game #1 - 1-0
W game #2 - 9-4
L game #3 - 3-1

Off Monday as the Tribe heads to Beantown for a 3 game set with the BoSox. Then we head to the Lone Star State for a weekend set to take on John's Astros.

Good Luck Tribe.

Hamilton finished a 2B shy of the cycle today. Series win for us today. Now off to Minnesota.

Why it's called a knee-buckling curveball.

Posey was a HR shy of the cycle the other day.. Still has yet to hit one but I don't think it will be much longer as we start a three game series in Milwaukee. His lifetime line at Miller Park?

Small sample but still redonk.

That knee buckler reminded me of what happened last year when Affeldt and Helton squared off.

Cubs are set to announce $300 mil Wrigley Field Renovation plans at 11 AM CT today. Very good news for the future of the cubs. If anyone is interested BleacherNation will have a live stream of the announcement.

Parra was a double shy of the cycle the other day.

A lot of that going around so far this year, doesn't really mean anything until someone actually does it. Then they have to try and do it twice. :sly:

LOL @ me "quick to quit" all the time. I said I was spent on the subject. I discussed it at length on the other forum I recommended to you. Last thing I want to do is rehash all the arguments again for your benefit, Prosthetic.

Maybe me hating on Oakland's stadium caused my Astros to get lynched on last night. The boys in green won 11-2 over my Astros.

Rain delay to start the game, and another rain delay prior to the bottom of the 9th. Reds tied with the Phils 0-0 in one heck of a pitching duel. Homer was just filthy, allowing only 2 hits, 10 strikeouts, and 0 walks on only 89 pitches through 8 innings. Unfortunately, Kendrick was excellent on the other side, too. And Homer isn't eligible for the win because his spot was due up 2nd in the bottom of the 8th, and he was pulled. I've no idea if they'll get this one back underway, because there is quite a bit more rain on the way. :grumpy:

Edit: Game suspended. Will resume at 5:30 tomorrow.

Made my way to Target Field, was very awesome even though it was cold. The best part was we won and there was a private concession area for our section so there were no lines.

Here was my view, only 12 rows up.:D

Best part was that other than food/drinks and the train ride it was free.

Ahead early, but the Astros couldn't suppress the Athletics... again. Our effort saw us fail 4-3 in Oakland. It goes without saying that this season will be tough for Houston; but even for a rebuilding team and for a sport like baseball, I'd like for this team to pleasantly surprise me. There hasn't been too many pleasant surprises, but I can only hope the Astros can start winning more often and play harder.

There is still a long way to go, but this losing is just the same old song and dance. Failing is just being too redundant for the Houston Astros Baseball Club.

Figures. Miley pitches a 🤬 gem tonight, gets in trouble in the 7th, relief pitcher let's them tie the game, and now they took the lead in the 8th on a solo homer.

Gonna be a sweep. Calling it now.

Reds pulled out the postponed game with a bases loaded single by Bruce with no outs to win 1-0. Then they demolished the Phillies in the final game of the series for a sweep after just being swept by the Pirates. And all of the starters in the regularly scheduled game tonight got a hit (including Leake's 3 hits) except the best hitter on the team in Votto. Baseball is a weird game. I'll gladly take a sweep of Philly, though, after the struggles we've gone through recently. Leake absolutely dominated. Along with Arroyo's great game (until the 2 run pinch hit bomb by Utley in the 8th) and Homer's gem last night, this was a great series for our pitchers. Gave the bullpen some much needed rest. They needed it and will continue to need it for the upcoming schedule, where they have recently started a 20 games in 20 days stretch.

Swept AGAIN by Oakland. 7-4 win for the Athletics yesterday. Astros will return home to take on our first non-AL West team. That would be the Cleveland Indians.

Because misery loves company, Atlanta went down 1-0 at home to Kansas City after riding a 10-game winning streak.

Congrats to all other winners.

...and Putz screws our lead in the bottom of the 9th just like I knew he would. Been saying for over a year now, he's not good enough to be our closer. Hernandez should be the closer, he's twice as nasty as JJ...

Tony Cingrani made his first career start for the Reds last night replacing the DL'd (:grumpy:) Cueto. Definitely impressed with his 5 inning, 1 run, 8 strikeout performance. Yes, it was against the Marlins. But last I checked, they are still a major league team.

A new player for us last night, in his first major league start and during his first at-bat, swung at the very first pitch he saw and hit one out of the park. :P

I liked Didi when he was in the Red's system. I got to see him play in a Futures vs. Stars game (or something along those lines) last year before the season where the Red's major league team played against some of the guys in their farm system. Unfortunately, there wasn't much of a place for him in Cincy in the majors with Votto, Phillips, Cozart, and Frazier holding down the infield spots. So to the desert he went in the off season. Glad he could be of service to you over there.

Just wrapped up... Astros snapped their losing ways with a 3-2 win over the Cleveland Indians. Our fifth win of the season! We put in six hits with no errors, but the Tribe put on eight hits with no errors. The surprising element of our ways? The MLB Tonight crew mentioned the Astros are ahead wins-wise over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at this point! I only hope the Astros can win as many as they can.

Boooooooo hissssssssss :lol::lol::lol:

{J/K} with you John, congrats on the win against my Tribe. As long as you don't sweep us :nervous:, I'll be somewhat of a happy camper.

Fernandez must've caught un aire malo. Had a patatú on the mound the other day.

Beat Detroit 8-1. I have no idea why Detroit always sucks in Anaheim, but I don't care. Going to the game on Sunday.
