I saw the replay, he was definitely out of basepath, BUT the ball was hit directly on the base line between 2nd and 3rd. Nunez would have had to go out of the basepath unless he was going to jump over him.Rangers lost last night, in a game they should have at least made go to extras.
There were two outs in the bottom of the 9th, tying run across and the winning run on second. The Minnesota hitter hit a grounder to third. Adrian Beltre tried to tag the runner out, but the runner goes WAY around Beltre and makes it to the bag safe. Clearly out of the baserunning path.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the runner called out if he does that? I'd post a video link but the MLB Video site lags up my phone.
