I hope his slider isn't a fat trainwreck like Josh Johnson's. Everyone on the rotation has a killer breaking ball.

* Speaking of the Diamondbacks, they soared high above the Colorado Rockies with a 12-5 beat down. This is the first time Arizona won three or more successive games since late April earlier this season.

Correction: 12-7

:)

The Astros had no problems going yard at the Minnesota Twins Friday night. Even though the Twins manufactured a comeback, it wasn't enough, as we won 5-4 on Friday night. Matt Dominguez and George Springer were among some of the Astros to hit jacks. It was about 5-0 in the Top of the 7th. The Twins decided to score runs in the final third of the game. But as I said, it wasn't enough. We'll take the close win. A win is a win.

Congratulations to all other Friday winners. And thanks for the correction/fixing, R1600Turbo. I edited that post to reflect the changes.

We must have pissed off the Twins today after our win on Friday night, because they went Beast Mode on us- an 8-0 beating of my Astros in Minneapolis. Rubber Game of the series is tomorrow afternoon.

* It looks like the Cleveland Indians slapped around Texas real good today- 8-3 victory for the Tribe in Arlington.

* Miami had to accept a little more lopsided loss today than yesterday's loss. It was a fish dinner for the Chicago Cubs as the visiting Marlins lost 5-2 at Wrigley Field.

* In this battle of birdies, it was the St. Louis Cardinals who won 5-0 at the Toronto Blue Jays. This match was shown on MLB Network.

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday.

5 in a row. Well, on the bright side they won't have to worry about a July-August swoon because the team will be long in the cellar before then.

Light up that scoreboard! My Astros and Justin's Twins went blow for blow today with a total of 19 runs on the board. Winning this series was my Astros by a score of 14-5. Part of our win was Grand Slams by Singleton and Carter. They hit their first-ever Grand Slams in their careers, and this is the first time we banged two Grand Slams in a game since 1969. We won this HOU at MIN series with authority today. In fact, I don't think we trailed or tied in this game. We picked up our 28th win of this season with this victory.

* Texas lost at home 3-2 to Cleveland. Globe Life Park (or whatever it's called nowadays) wasn't real pleased seeing the Texas Rangers fail today.

* St. Louis beat Toronto 5-0 yesterday. Today... St. Louis beat Toronto 5-0. It is very uncommon to beat a team by the same score.

* Baltimore and Oakland had some beef with each other in this series. The Orioles lost 11-1 hosting the Oakland Athletics. The O's and A's had themselves some bench clearing. Damn, boys... play nice for a change. This is otherwise just Oakland ballin' as usual.

* How's that Midwestern hospitality, New York Yankees? Not very good, considering the Yanks lost 2-1 at the Royals today.

* One New York team lost; how did the other NYC team do? Same result- a loss. San Francisco held serve at home with a 6-4 victory over the New York Mets.

* The Miami Marlins prevented getting swept at the Cubs as they won 5-4.

* The Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates went at it in a good old NL Central showdown in Pittsburgh. Today's game ended 1-0 in favor of the Brew Crew.

* 6-5 was the score at Chase Field in Phoenix as the Diamondbacks had enough venom to subdue the Atlanta Braves.

* The Washington Nationals had no problem whacking the San Diego Padres 6-0 today in San Diego.

Congratulations to all other winners from today's games, including the eventual winner of Boston at Detroit.

Even more injuries for Texas, as if the loss wasn't bad enough.

Mitch Moreland will be out 3 months thanks to left ankle surgery. Rougned Odor sprained his right shoulder in today's game but is listed as day to day.

Time to focus on 2015. The goal for this season it seems is to just make it to the finish line.

6 losses in a row. D'Arnaud sent down. Manager is making baffling moves. Wonder if he gets the axe in the upcoming weeks. Not that he deserves it, as the GM and ownership will essentially make him a scapegoat (since they won't win 90 games, but its not his fault, its the fault of the GM who didn't push the owners hard enough, built a pathetic bullpen and made a declaration that the team will win 90 games since they have no offense and a subpar bullpen at best.)

Miami's Sun Sox throwbacks at Wrigley were awesome. Watched the game with my grandpa, who played high-level baseball in Cuba before communism. He got pissed at Brian Schlitter for his disgusting beard and long hair.

"It's a disgrace to the game. He looks like a neanderthal."

Don't try this at home, kids... but my Astros are going to go into the desert and play with some Snakes. Yep- two-game set as part of an inner-forum rivalry (JohnBM01 vs. R1600Turbo). The Astros will be reminded of their National League days when they'll take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Houston will have to contend with the likes of Paul Goldschmidt, who leads the NL in hits. Have to try to hold Goldy down and contend against Arizona's pitching. We'll see what happens in this series.

Good luck to all of your teams with the new series. By the way... never heard of the Miami Sun Sox until seeing this post last night.

Funny how we can walk all over someone like Kershaw, then can't even hit anything off a random pitcher with a 4.0+ ERA.

Leave it to the Astros to make two baserunning mistakes in the 9th. Costs two runs. We'll probably lose now

I quickly checked the Sports app to Windows 8 after seeing ildd and [/B]R1600Turbo[/B]'s comments, and I found out we won 4-3 Monday night at the Diamondbacks. The only time I followed the score was when I saw the Astros led 4-1 in the Top or Bottom of the 5th inning. I'm obviously proud my boys won.

Game 2 of HOU at ARI is today. In fact, it's about an hour or so away from starting as of the time of this post.

This brief two-game series at the Diamondbacks ends in a split. We failed 4-1 at Arizona today. The back end of this deal is a two-game set back here in Houston as the Diamondbacks will slither their way into H-Town. This little stretch actually is part of a home stand for us. Houston will host Arizona for two games, then have a weekend set hosting the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game set.

...where do you all come down on Baltimore's Manny Machado getting a five-game suspension for his antics this past weekend in the OAK at BAL series?

He deserved it, kid is being a punk. I don't care what someone does to you, you don't throw bats at anyone. He needs to grow up if he wants to have a career in baseball.

Something obviously had to be done, I think he thought he was above the game after last year... The suspension was actually two more games than what I expected.

Slightly off topic- I was able to go to the "Texas League" game today at Minute Maid Park, with the Corpus Christi Hooks and the San Antonio Missions, the AA affiliate of the Astros and Padres, respectively. $10 a ticket, free parking next to the stadium, and Ironically a football game broke out  . The Missions won 15-14. As expected, it was exciting throughout. All the players were talking and signing for all the 3000 people who showed up. That was technically my first minor league game (though I've played at the Sugarland Skeeters park) and it was awesome overall. I think there was 6 combined HR's. Some of the notable prospects included Rhymer Liriano, Austin Hedges, Preston Tucker, Nolan Fontana and one-time first rounder, now bust, Jiovanni Mier.

To keep this post relevant, the Astros lost 4-1 against the D-backs. Had a nice little streak going :D

Did you see that long throw Oakland made last night to rob the Angels of a run? Cespedes of the Oakland Athletics of the bobbled a deep ball. Then when he picked it up, he basically threw a Doug Flutie-like Hail Mary from deep left field to pull off a wicked out. It was crazy!

Tampa Bay has been blanked for three straight games. Tough times for this team right now. I am not going to rag on them too much because this weekend, the Tampa Bay Rays will be here in Houston over the weekend.

Go enjoy some Wednesday baseball, already!

Bold made me laugh, I was like....what is he trying to say? :odd::P

Injury news for Texas...aka, not breaking. Tanner Scheppers back to the DL with elbow inflammation.

We're winners again! This time, a 5-1 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks. I read that HOU's Dallas Keuchel improved to 8-3 with a 2.38 ERA after tonight's game. Chris Carter hit two homers as part of the victory. The Astros now have 30 wins, and our record is now 30-37. The finale of this brief ARI at HOU series is tomorrow.

* ...I saw BobK's Phillies hit a wicked three-run jack to win in walk-off fashion. They knocked off the San Diego Padres in Philadelphia 3-0. Congratulations to PHI on their win.

* Houston and Texas are AL West rivals, but I certainly feel for the Texas Rangers and the injury troubles. They are still a plenty powerful team even with their players who are on the shelf. Even with their injuries, the only thing that got battered and bruised in this one were Omnis' Miami Marlins, who lost 6-0 at the Texas Rangers.

* It was 5-0 in Cincinnati at Great American Ballpark as the Reds easily handled Villain's Los Angeles Dodgers. Even though LAD lost, they pulled a sweet Double Play in the game with Dee Gordon.

* The Blue Jays got roughed up at home as the Minnesota Twins came into Toronto and hammered the Blue Jays 7-2. This game was televised on MLB Network earlier today.

* The Milwaukee Brewers took down the New York Mets 3-1 at Citi Field.

* St. Louis is ballin'... until tonight. Tampa Bay doubled up the Cardinals 6-3 at Tropicana Field. The Rays certainly needed a win like this to try to restore their confidence moving forward.

Congratulations to all other winners from today and tonight.

Proof that we're not making any headway this season. Just when it looks like CO and SD are within our grasp, we can't even hit anything.
