It was 4-2, Kansas City last night here in Houston. Tonight is Game 2 of 3 between KC at HOU.

10 games under .500, 14 games into the year.

Pathetic.
I know your feel. The only difference is you'll experience a winning streak and the Astros will continue Lastro-ing.
At least we have Springer. My dad was given tickets to tomorrows game :D

What is this? I don't even...The Reds took the rubber match against the Pirates to win their first series of the season. Final score 4-0. Cueto was amazing as his healthy self, pitching a 3 hit shutout with 12 K's and 0 walks. And the team has decided to start hitting a little. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Random fact time...David Gee, the starter for the Mets today against Arizona, grew up a few miles away from me.

Rangers losing to the Mariners 2-1 in the 8th. Hernandez has been unhittable for most of the game. Darvish has a cut on one of his fingers that aggravated him tonight and started bleeding. In a way, it made me think of Curt Schilling.

Oh, and some random dude ran on the field too.

The Astros lost 6-4 last night to Kansas City here in Houston. Tonight is the series finale before embarking on an Oakland-Seattle road trip. Astros stuck on five wins so far.

After the Rangers snagged up their fourth walkoff win last night, they're sending Tanner Scheppers to the mound to hopefully win the series. The worst we can do is get a split.

The Rangers put up 4, before Scheppers just imploded. 6 runs in, Scheppers out, runner on second, one out. And it's the third inning.

So many things wrong with the Astros compared to when I went to the game the first couple times this season... Same mistakes over and over, bad decision making... Bo Porter needs to get ejected and stand up for his players. CB Buckner is an awful strike caller(for both teams) and overturned a call that shouldn't have been overturned.

But, this was the first time in a LONG time I've seen MMP with the roof open at night. Looks great, especially with those Mammoth signs moved under the lights (they used to be on it, blocking the view)

Mets play Atlanta tonight. They will most likely lose tonight. Mets have yet to lose on a Tuesday or a Saturday.

Texas ended up winning yesterday 8-6. Shin-Soo Choo hit his first Ranger homerun, and Robinson Cano hit his first Mariner homerun. However, there is speculation that Tanner Scheppers may lose his spot in the rotation...he's winless in all of his starts, and has imploded in each of them as well. But yesterday the bats and the bullpen bailed him out.

Texas welcomes the Chicago White Sox into Arlington for three before heading to Oakland. I have tickets for Sunday's game. :D

EDIT- Scheppers to the DL with inflammation in his right elbow and forearm.

Getting swept by Kansas City was bad enough (5-1 loss on Thursday in Houston). Friday night, Astros get flattened 11-3 at Oakland. I'd rather us take on San Francisco than Oakland. But of course, we play in the American League now and in the AL West, and Oakland is an AL West team. The one time I checked into the game, I think OAK was up 8-0 in the Top of the 4th. Yep... this HOU at OAK series is going to be a LONG series for the Astros...

This transfer/no catch rule is about the stupidest thing I have seen in a long time. What is the time limit on dropping it out of your glove? Catch third out in CF, trot to the infield with ball in glove, drop it when getting it out to throw to the mound - safe?
In every other ball sport in the world a catch is completed when you have control of the ball. How efficiently you dispose of it (of thransfer it to your other hand) is not a consideration.

Ron Washington got tossed from the game last Monday for arguing about that. JP Arencibia was trying to perform a 1-2-3 double play. He had control of the ball, got the force at home, then dropped it while transferring. The Mariner baserunner was initially ruled out, but the M's manager came out and challenged. Call overturned, and a Mariner run.

Perfect example of a stupid rule right there. JP's error was in attempting to make the 2nd out, the first one was a done deal.

Astros need to realize that three runs isn't enough to take down the Oakland Athletics. We failed again- 4-3 this time in a Saturday afternoon game. An OAK sweep or a HOU split will be assured tomorrow for this series before the Astros head up the Pacific coast to Seattle for their next series at the Mariners.

Well...my first time at Globe Life Park this year, and the Rangers get SLAUGHTERED. 16-2.

Oh well, it was a beautiful day for a game. The seats were good too...lower level just beyond third base. Almost caught two foul balls. And I also got to try one of the newest additions to the "premiere" food lineup...bacon on a stick. They say it's a special type of bacon from Hungary, and it's glazed with a maple sauce.

Nice seat. How much was the bacon? $10? I want to go to a Rangers/Astros game in July (I think that's when they're playing) but the thought of 95F weather in an open park scares me. And the Astros will probably lose 8-0

It was $7. Well worth it IMO. And don't let that thought scare you. I have been to tons of games over the years during the summer. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. And lots of times there is a nice breeze.

The heat doesn't really bother me (living in Houston all my life), but I'm afraid of getting sun burned. I've learned over high school baseball games that day games in Texas suck when there's sun. Especially when you can't really hide from it or turn around...
But my dad has said for 3 years that we need to go up there and watch a game. Never came close yet. I might drag him there this year

Oh, scared of getting sunburned? No need to worry. 90% of Ranger home games during the summer are at night. If you set on the third base side or left field you'll only have to worry about the sun for the first few innings. If you set on the first base side or right field, you'll have shade until the sun goes down.

As for today, my arms didn't get sunburned thanks to spray-on sunblock.

Seven straight losses for the Astros. Today's fail was 4-1 at Oakland. I actually learned the Astros COULD have won Saturday afternoon's game at Oakland 3-1 had it not been for the Astros falling apart. But... the Astros are stuck on five wins. I'm sure going to Seattle isn't going to help make times easier with the next series.

At this point, I care more about how soon the Astros can be a consistent winner rather than hope and pray they win at least 50 games. Prospects mean crap if the current major team couldn't even beat a college team or a Little League team.

Thanks for the info. I thought the Astros' series was during the day. I was eyeing July 8th and went to StubHub (just to look for a generic price range) and I saw that 2nd deck Club seats (sec. 236, row 1) were only $34. That's cheaper than Astros home games in the same area...

I have sat in 236, which is part of the Lexus Club. View is great. Plus, people come around and you can order food, which is later brought to you, and is only available in the Lexus Club. And once you get in your seats, you'll see paper menus in the cupholders.
