Well... the Astros lost by a score of a lot to nothing (7-0), due in part to shoddy defense... but in other news, Jordan Lyles hit a homer in Arizona to left center... I miss him. He was one of my favorites :( That game is currently tied in the bottom of the 9th at 4. Arizona has already put 2 across in the 9th, hoping to get that last run in.
edit- extra Innings in Arizona

Well we managed to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th. Maybe we can come out of this homestand with a 2-5 record.

Edit: yay a win.

Oakland went on to win 12-1. The Rangers scored 4 runs the entire series, in contrast to 25 by Oakland. That is what cost them the AL West/wild card last year.

Off day tomorrow before heading to Anaheim for three. Yay late games...

This is only one month down. There are still PLENTY of games to be played. So keep playing hard! My Astros will duel with the Seattle Mariners here in Houston for the weekend. Here are some other series to be played this weekend:

* Oakland Athletics at Boston Red Sox
* Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees
* Milwaukee Braves at Cincinnati Reds
* San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves
* Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Have a great weekend of baseball! Good luck to all of your team(s).

Jon Lester is pitching a gem right now. 15 K through 8 innings of one hit ball. Definitely helping my Rangers.

My Internet was down yesterday and today, so I was unable to report my Astros winning 5-4 in 11 innings on Friday night against Seattle. Today, we failed 9-8 to Seattle. The Astros led 2-0 early before Seattle brought it to 2-1. Then, Seattle went Marshawn Lynch on us (beast mode) and inflating their lead to nine runs. We did all we could to bounce back, but it wasn't enough. So a Rubber Game tomorrow afternoon between SEA at HOU.

That win for us on Friday finally put us in the double-digit win mark. Congratulations to all other winners from Friday and Saturday.

Winning streak to 3. Almost gave it up though, Putz just needs to retire. Guy just doesn't have what it takes anymore.

Astros head to Detroit next, and they'll head into MoTown losing 8-7 to Seattle here in Houston today. Yay.

How did your boys do today? Still on deck tonight is the St. Louis at Chicago Cubs game.

Rangers currently routing the Angels 9-3 through 7. Yu Darvish did better today (6.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 9 K), but had control issues. Prince Fielder has 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and JP Arencibia and Michael Choice went yard. JP almost had a grand slam in the first inning.

Reds took 3 of 4 from the Brewers somehow. We rallied from a 2 run deficit in the game today, thanks to a BP game tying homer in the 8th, then Frazier knocking in Heisey from first for the walkoff in the 10th.

I'm expecting PLENTY of offense with that TEX vs. COL series. Defensive struggles or pitching duels don't seem likely for that series.

I'm anxious to see how Perez and Ross (tonight's/tomorrow's starters) will handle the Rockies' hitters. Coors Field is like home run paradise.

And a pair of Colorado bombs has Texas down 5-0...

We failed last night. Very first pitch in the game and they hit one out of the park. Then a 2 run shot in the 2nd. :indiff:

Although the way the Brewers have been playing, I expect to get swept anyway.

The Astros got dropped 2-0 last night at Detroit. The MoTown kitties whacked us like a piñata on Cinco de Mayo last night as we got blanked.

Rangers get routed 8-1 last night, and currently losing 5-1.

Hope the Rangers can at least split the series when they come back to Arlington tomorrow and Thursday.

Come from behind victory it seems, sadly I missed it. Good to hear though, especially since we were down 5-0 after the 1st inning.

12-1 ended up being the final. Colorado piled 20 runs on us up there, compared to only 2 Texas runs. That's pathetic.

It's a four-game set in Detroit for my Astros. It was a 5-1 fail on Monday night... and it was an 11-4 fail for the Astros last night. Game 3 of 4 is tonight. We have yet to figure out the Detroit Tigers.

Why does Bryan Price keep sending out Hoover to pitch? He blew another one tonight in the 8th. Reds lose 4-3 (and the 2 game series) for the second consecutive evening. :grumpy:
