As to be expected, the Houston Astros Baseball Club has the worst overall record... again. Stuck on only 10 wins, we lost 3-2 at the Detroit Tigers last night. The series finale is later today. Either they sweep us, or we salvage a win in MoTown. The former seems more likely the way the Astros' luck and fortunes go. Yay, us...

Too early to look ahead to the Texans and Dynamo for a Houston sports fan?

Stuck on 10 wins... no more. Win No. 11 was a 6-2 victory for my Astros today at the Detroit Tigers. Three homers were struck by the Astros in this one. We take only one out of this four-game set. Up next for the Astros is a three-game series at Baltimore. Astros. O's. [L.J.] Hoes (who is from the Baltimore area). The fun begins this Friday night.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday afternoon and evening.

Texas salvaged the final game against the Rockies by a score of 5-0. Matt Harrison pitched well but didn't go deep into the game, but he still picked up the W. Prince Fielder also went yard.

This series was still pathetic. Colorado outscored Texas 29-9. Hopefully the Red Sox won't slaughter us this weekend.

Yu Darvish has 7 innings of no-hit ball. David Ortiz reached base thanks to an error on Rougned Odor by not catching his pop up in the 7th. Mike Napoli also drew a walk after Ortiz reached base.

Make that 8 innings.

Broxton blew the 1 run lead the Reds got in the bottom of the 8th, then got the win as Votto homered in the 9th for the walkoff. I really wish the MLB would change the rules to revert back and give the win to the starting pitcher. Cueto deserved it. I hate having a pitcher blow a save and be rewarded with the win.

Darvish gets Darvished again...8.2 IP of no-hit ball. And Ortiz singles to right field. :ouch:

At least Texas is going to win; 8-0 currently.

Losing is second nature to my Astros. The latest loss for the Astros was a 4-3 loss at Baltimore on Friday night. The only time I checked into the game, we were trailing 2-1 in the Top of the 6th. End result- another Astros loss. It's almost as if baseball deities hate Houston so much that all we do is fail... and fail often. Just mind-numbingly depressing for the Astros to continually fail. Damn shame. But what can I (or anybody else) can do about it? Again- Astros fail 4-3 at Baltimore. Game 2 of 3 is on Saturday night.

5-4, 10 innings, Orioles over my Astros. A lead in the Top of the 9th was our first in the game. O's came back to tie things at 4-4 in the Bottom of the 9th. In the end, it was walk-off magic for the Orioles to beat my Astros for the win. It's going to be a long Spring and a long Summer for my Astros. Then again, it's been that way for them for several years. When will the Astros EVER return to relevance? Even the 2005 Astros were relevant despite all the losing they've had. How far did that team go? The World Series, which we'd ultimately be swept by the Chicago White Sox. Astros seem like they can't be on the winning end of games even if their lives depended on it. Damned shame.

Elsewhere, let's see who DIDN'T f:censored: up winning opportunities today/tonight...

* The Diamondbacks knocked the socks off the Chicago White Sox in Chicago. A 4-3 victory for the Snakes came on 12 hits and no errors. Wade Miley won for ARI with a save from Addison Reed. Losing for CHW was José Quintana.

* Prosthetic's San Francisco Giants. Villain's Dodgers. Who won today in the greater Los Angeles area? The Dodgers- by a score of 6-2. It was a win for Greinke of LAD and a SF loss for Jeremy Affeldt.

* In Atlanta, the Braves blanked the Chicago Cubs 2-0. Ervin Santana won along with a Save from Craig Kimbrel for ATL. Brian Schlitter lost for CHC.

* Yankee haters, thank Milwaukee today because the Brewers beat the New York Yankees 5-4. Both teams had 10 hits and 1 error each. The Brew Crew won with Zach Duke and a Save from Francisco Rodriguez. Losing for NYY was Alfredo Aceves.

* It was 8-3 in Arlington, Texas as the Boston Red Sox hammered the Texas Rangers. Winning in the BOS hammer job was Jon Lester. Martin Pérez was the losing pitcher. Both pitchers have four wins each after this game (Lester is now 4-4 while Pérez is now 4-3).

* Nicksflix's Cleveland Indians got trounced in Tampa Bay with a 7-1 spank job by the Tampa Bay Rays. Erik Bedard (former Astro?) picked up the win for TB while Zach McAllister lost for the Tribe.

* It was an unhappy day for Blitz24's Mets as they failed 5-4 hosting the Philadelphia Phillies. The boys from PHI saw Mike Adams win along with a Save from Jonathan Papelbon. Kyle Farnsworth was the NYM loser.

* Canadian hospitality was served to Justin's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and the Angels weren't having any of it thanks to a 5-3 victory in Toronto. Winning for LAA was Tyler Skaggs along with a Save from Joe Smith. Former Astro J.A. Happ was the Toronto loser.

* Justin's Twins paid a visit to Joey D's Tigers, and it was not pretty for the Twins. Detroit won 9-3 over the Twins. Max Scherzer picked up his fifth win of the season for Detroit while Kyle Gibson was the MIN loser.

Congratulations to all other winners.

Mets lose again. 5th straight and 7th out of 8 games. The bullpen is beyond pathetic and if the starter doesn't get like a 12-0 lead, the bullpen will just happily throw the game to the other team.

In Baltimore, it was 5-2 today as the Astros managed to salvage one game out of this series. A big part of our win was an early 3-0 lead after the Top of the 1st. The Astros managed to man up and hold onto that lead fr the rest of the game. Never trailed. Up next for the Astros... we will be having some Texas Rangers problems at Minute Maid Park. I wouldn't be surprised if we got swept or lose this upcoming series starting Monday night. And after all, nobody cares about the Astros except for myself and ildd. But... we'll see what happens when the boys from Arlington come down to H-Town.

Here's something funny from today's games... we beat Baltimore 5-2 today in Baltimore, and the Texas Rangers lost today 5-2 in Arlington.

Elsewhere... I want to shout out to the New York Mets on coming back to win. They were down 3-1 or something to come back to win 5-4 in 11 innings. Good job by Blitz24's Mets.

Very solid rookie pitching and a couple out of parkers got us a 5-1 victory today. We went 6-3 on that road trip, for the first time since 2011. Hopefully we can keep it up.

For some reason Papelbon has struck me as a closer the Mets have gotten to. Turns out in 20 appearances he has 7 saves but also a 1-3 record vs. the Mets. A 3.79 ERA against them (which is only better than that against the Yankees, Rockies, A's, White Sox, and Reds. Granted, it's not as bad as he was in 2009 or 2012 against them but it is food for thought.

EDIT* Papelbon didn't pitch last night. Bastardo did so ignore my silly comment.

Rangers begin a three game series in Houston tonight. And, lucky me, the place I'm staying at for the next week doesn't carry their broadcasts. And I doubt they'll carry the Houston broadcast either.

Looking forward to the subway series starting tonight. Hopefully the Yankees can get some momentum going. They seem tired and old. Probably because they are tired and old.

That makes it 34 TJ on the year. I really think there needs to be a change of priorities in ALL MLB systems.

688 days since the Yankees have beaten the Mets.

Misery loves company, so let me sshare that the Astros lost 4-0 last night hosting the Texas Rangers. Yep. Another fail for the Houston Astros. We'll battle again later tonight with the boys from Arlington.

Actually it's a torn UCL... Otherwise known as Tommy John.
I'm so sad... He's one of the very few pitchers that makes me watch every single pitch.

I know. Even worse. I hope he can come back from it. What a shame.

He'll be back mid 2015 if he gets the surgery within the next week.

Meanwhile, the Yankees have decided they want the Mets to play long ball. Mets have 11 runs already.
