Shuffle Mixer Track Day
__________________________________________________________________

All cars lists needed, previous week's podium decides the list
used in each race. Track vote will take place at event start.
Then all 5 races will be at the voted track! First race
will be a one-make with a car from the car lists.
_____________________________________________________________
As we have now a total of 12 lists, participating without any car list means buying and changing oil of 171 cars.
So to make it more accessible i would say we make 3 lists mandatory, so everybody should have those:
We can have more variety in the races by shifting the lists, so someone can choose Vintage +5, then the winner of the previous race gets car 5 from Vintage, second gets car 6 and so on.

BTW: the links above are links to filter views in the Car Lists and Parity Sheet, it contains all car lists and the current parity rating. The first tab contains all cars and can be filtered by clicking the filter icon on the far right.

I think this is an important issue you're mentioning. It might definitely be deterring new people from joining races when they realise they'd need that many cars (and we have so many ideas for adding even more). I'd therefore suggest to keep the number of used lists in an event (or maybe in a week?) limited, so that new people can gradually stock up on needed cars as they are used.

I could imagine something like 3 used lists maximum per event. The shuffle rules should permit enough variety anyway.

What are next lists in priority? :D

OMG, don't start ordering the lists, car ordering is difficult enough...
Here are some of my favorites:
Limbo Stick is the low power end, Historic and Retro are all about older cars, Legends is -- well, legenday. ;)

When i had my first event here, i think i prepared 2 lists and it was quite a drudge with the oil changes, so 3 should be absolute maximum for an event.

Last week's results: (it's been a week already?! :odd: )

@watermelon punch I hope you can make it to some racing again soon! We miss our benevolent overlord. :D Vertigo stinks, my mother developed some mysterious inner ear issues a year ago and it wasn't any fun. She couldn't even watch racing, which is something we get together and do quite frequently. Even things like reading could trigger it, and watching subtitled shows or movies was right out. Boo to inner ear issues!

It was great to see @hobbsy and @Cu3e on track for Wednesdays' parity races. Too bad the timing didn't work out for you @Tijee . Parity races happen the last week of a three week series, just to be clear. Though, I keep thinking it would be nice to have a series that was only parity races, as I really like the format.

Regarding our profusion of lists, yeah, I worry about it being a bit overwhelming. Heck, even some of us 'veterans' stumble over getting in the right car. *cough* I always keep it to 3 lists per event (one make with car from list A, race with list A, 2 races with list B, 2 races with list C,) but limiting it to a few lists for each series might be a good idea.

For instance, only using 3 lists for an entire series, and perhaps using just two per event. That would also mean the parity races would feature all the list used in a series, which would be a nice touch I think...

Great races at Brands Hatch, too bad the cat prevented the bonus race for me. I hope everyone was ok with me not switching to the modern layout, i like the 80's subtle differences.

So from now on we'll do the track day list picks before the races, so everyone can start buying in. ;)
So pick your lists for the next track day @Litchi, @amarynceos and tacom08!

Good fun as always at the Track Day.

I'll pick... Vintage for the next Track Day.

Hello gentlemen, I'll be available on Wednesday if there's an event. I have to buy the cars from these lists, right?

Yeah, I'll stick with those three lists for the next Series of events. 👍

General announcement: For the Wednesdays Series, I'm going to utilize just three lists per series from now on. Whether or not I use two or three lists per event, I'm undecided as of now -- obviously the Round Three Parity event will use all three lists.

Those of you with prize picks aren't restricted to the three lists to be used for this coming Series, but if you choose other lists I'll use your picks in the following Series. :) So I suppose you could view it as a way to influence the list choices down the road.

Errr... Sorry guys, call me stupid but the more I'm reading the last few posts, the less I understand.

For Wednesday, are we talking about
  • Vintage + Perf Coupé + 90's Sports
or
  • Vintage + Historic + @Litchi's choice

I'm not sure I can attend next week... But again I don't get it: didn't @amarynceos say he would only use the same 3 lists for this Wednesday's Series?

So this Wednesday, May 20 (and the next two events of the Wednesday series) the following lists will be used:

Vintage, Performance Coupés and 90's Sports

On the Track Day this Friday, May 22 we use

Vintage, Historic and (if @Litchi doesn't pick his list until then) 90's Sports. :)

So it's four lists to buy until Friday, and three lists until Wednesday, if you haven't got them already. :) BTW, you are not forced to do every race, you can join late or leave early or just watch a race when you haven't got a list.

@amarynceos, my combo picks are:

Shuffle: 90's Sports @ Trial Mountain
Parity: Performance Coupés @ Spa, preferably at dawn :)

Tomorrow's Itinerary:

Series 23 -- Event 1
Wednesday 19 May 2015
2:30pm US EDT / 11:30am US PDT / 7:30pm BST / 8:30pm CEST / 18:30 UTC

Race #1: 12 laps @ Indianapolis Speedway // Corvette C7 (1 pit stop, Light Damage)
Race #2: 4 laps @ Grand Valley Speedway Reverse // Performance Coupés
Race #3: 5 laps @ Trial Mountain // 90s Sports
Race #4: 5 laps @ Twin Ring Motegi East // 90s Sports
Race #5: 7 laps @ Silverstone Stowe // Vintage
Race #6: 3 laps @ Matterhorn Rotenboden // Vintage

Thanks for tonight's event :)👍

And so sorry about Race #4, I did not practice much on this track and I messed up with the lines, braked early (way too early), turned late, etc... I did not intend to cause trouble, if I did I sincerely apologize!

That's fine, Tijee. Everybody makes mistakes. If you happen to bump into someone because of it though and even gain a position, you can't just continue. You're supposed to at least give the position back and then you can continue.

I totally agree with that, that's what I did when I bumped @tarnheld in the last race. I really don't remember when I did such a thing in race 4 however, but again I apologize for that. I'll watch the replay to be sure I won't ever make the same mistake.

Shuffle Mixer Track Day
__________________________________________________________________

We'll use the car lists Vintage, Historic and 90's Sports.
Previous week's podium decides the list used in each race.
Track vote will take place at event start. Then all 5 races
will be at the voted track! First race will be a one-make
with the Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2) '63.

See you on track!

I might be able to make some racing tonight guys. Just need to brush up on my "Shuffle Mixer Track Day" knowledge... would it matter if i missed the first race though?

As my time to make Race 1 will be tight!

Cheers,

No problem, just join when it suits you! If you come late, you get assigned car #3 from the current list and the first grid position. :)
