Manhunt in SoCal, suspect is surrounded in a cabin, two officers down.

Damn, where is Batman when we need him .... another cornered man took himself out, the truth will never come out ...

Then why do you believe he took himself out? It's just like Waco TX. They didn't take themselves out. FBI crashed the compound, people came out running with hands empty, they got shot and killed and then FBI torched the place.

What happened there happened in that cabin, IMO. They wanted him dead and worked it like that. I'm just waiting to hear how manny innocent people they killed doing it. At least two made it out alive.

I doubt it would have even if he did survive. He obviously had a vendetta so would more than likely have fudged some facts and the LAPD is probably the 2nd most crooked police force behind Chicago so they obviously aren't going to admit to anything and will cover-up what they can.

I'm glad to see common sense has prevailed, and we are now throwing around serious accusations of first-degree murder and a widespread conspiracy based on events that happened twenty years ago.

I only read the news online, said a single gunshot was heard before the cabin was engulfed in flames. Not sure what to believe ... but even if he surrendered, I doubt he would survive to face the trial anyway, a lot of opportunity for the cops to silence him.

If LAPD confirm Dorner's death, I reckon the current investigation would end up as a cover up just to save the LAPD's face.

Sounds like somebody is completely clueless as to what the LAPD and other local law enforcement agencies having been doing here lately.

They repeat what works for them. No widespread conspiracy there.

LAPD spokesman just said they haven't even entered the cabin, still too hot, don't know whether anyone is even in there...next news conference tomorrow morning...nothing, I repeat nothing has been confirmed one way or the other...

Forgive me, then, if I believe in innocence until guilt is proven, as opposed to believing someone is guilty until they are proven dead.

The fact that people are questioning the official version of events before the identity of the body has been confirmed - combined with the accusations made by the suspect - demonstrate that it is in the LAPD's best interests to play this one straight.

There are, after all, so many more ways to destroy a man than simply killing him. If the LAPD effectively murdered the suspect and then burned the cabin to hide the evidence, he wins. He might be dead, but he has proven everything he has claimed about the LAPD to be true, and will probably become some kind of folk hero, even though he killed two innocent people before he even posted his manifesto. If the LAPD were motivated by nothing more than petty revenge, they'd play everything by the book, and be open and honest about it, and demonstrate that every accusation levelled at the was nothing more than the fantasy of a disgruntled former employee.

Hmm, is it possible a UAV fired a missile and the cabin got blown up :(
If it was, don't you think the press would have a field day with it? Reporters claimed that they heard a single gunshot coming from within the cabin, which is currently believed to have been self-inflicted. If they were close enough to hear the gunshot and identify it as originating from the cabin, then they would certainly be close enough to identify a missile fired from a UAV.

Furthermore, not all UAVs are armed. Many of them are simply used for reconnaissance.

Reporter where not let anywhere remotely close to the cabin, how did they hear a single gun shot exactly?
Here:
The Los Angeles Times reported that a single shot was heard from the cabin where Dorner had taken refuge after shooting two police officers, killing one, earlier today.
The accompanying image is clearly taken from a news helicopter, close enough to see the cabin, but far enough away to be in any exclusion zone.

Furthermore, the cabin is remote, and so there is less noise pollution, meaning the sound of a shot would travel further than if the suspect was in a built-up area. It's unlikely that the police would try and cover up any sound of shooting or a UAV firing a missile with the use of sirens or other noise, since minimal noise is better for negotiations - excessive sounds would threaten to overwhelm the suspect, and make him less responsive to negotiating - and any sudden change in the ambient level of sound would likely alert him that something was about to happen.

No reporter heard a single gun shot, you are being silly yet again.
In comparison to what? The people who have suggested that an unmanned aerial drone fired a missile at the cabin and nobody noticed it?

Now you're just opposing me for the sake of it.

No reporter heard a single gun shot, you are being silly yet again.

Do the reporters need to hear it with their own ears to, report it?

It's possible they could've just heard officers reporting over their radios, "shot fired, single shot from inside."

From an article posted by CNN.

The cabin caught fire after police detonated smoke devices inside the cabin, the source said.

Now CNN is saying (sort of laughing at this article):

The law enforcement sources said they were told by officials at the Los Angeles Police Department that it is Dorner's body.
The sources told CNN contributor and former FBI assistant director Tom Fuentes that law enforcement removed the body and are conducting a forensic exam to positively identify the man.

Then, in the same article, they said this :

Later as the fire burned, with authorities staying back, she said authorities weren't 100% sure the suspect was still in the cabin.

Gotta love the media. Hell, even they are clueless.

No, no missle. Just an 'armored entry vehicle' destroying all the walls of the cabin. Then, a big fire. Just like Waco.

Throwing in a 'smoke' grenade that sets the building on fire is a tactic the local police use here. I've seen it done several times. Once, on live TV. Same O', Same O'.

I'm clearly saying that news people where not close enough to hear that single shot, I'm not targeting you in anyway.

I'll try it again, no reporter heard a single shot.

Found this on ABC News:

Officers broke the cabin windows, pumped in tear gas and called for Dorner to surrender over a loudspeaker, the LA Times said.

When they got no reply, they deployed a vehicle to rip down the cabin walls.

It did so "one by one, like peeling an onion," a law enforcement official told the newspaper.

When it got to the last wall, a single gunshot was heard, before flames began to spread through the structure.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I've seen many times where police surrounded a house, bombarded it with teargas and then used a megaphone to yell at a guy to surrender. Can't seem to recall it being standard procedure to procure a vehicle of some kind and proceed to tear the house down, wall by wall, "like peeling an onion". Seems a bit bizarre if it's true.

Take your tinfoil hat off. The Mount Carmel Centre at Waco was big enough to hold over eighty people. This cabin appears to have been big enough to hold three people.

arora
I'll try it again, no reporter heard a single shot.
What's your source for that? Or are you there to confirm it personally?

You demand references from me. It's only fair that you back up what you say with evidence.

Is it possible, the police fired a small explosive projectile into the cabin which cause small explosion and subsequent fire ? I was merely asking the possible way the cops would do to kill the man ...

There is reference in this thread already, go back and check a few links. I know you do not live here and probably don't have access to the tv reports, I watched some of it and the news casters where held on a road far from the site.

It's strange because prior to today I think they where in a 'center' of some sort, very close to the cabin.

No mater actually, I'm saying no reporter heard it as you think happened, rather they are reporting what the police told them 👍

Lame. Try again.

Reporters weren't allowed near the place. They only repeated what they heard over police radios. What is said over these radios isn't always the truth. Especialy in this town.
