In May PD updated with content twice 2 weeks apart. We don't know that September is even a big update, could be just the VGT like when the BMW was added. Plus PD has been saying they want to keep updates monthly so it's still very very likely there is an August update.

EDIT: And there still isn't any actual business sense in putting the Toyota VGT with Zahara because business wise all the media is done with Toyota VGT because everything they need to know about is available at unveil, they don't actually care when it makes the game.

Trust me, September's update(s) will be big, PD has to be holding some stuff back for the next few months. And it stills makes business sense to add the Toyota VGT in with Zahara as the some media outlets report when the VGT's hit the game. So you're wrong there. As for PD wanting to keep updates monthly, if that's how you're basing your prediction on, I'm sorry to say this but there has already been an update this month so PD has already checked off their monthly update off.

If PD wanted to release Zahara with a VGT for buisness it will be a new VGT that hasn't been unveiled yet because the unveil is when ALL the media is interested. When the Nissan was unveiled it had some media hype, not one of those outlets wrote about it again when the game was updated. And again, in May, in the same month, they released content updates 2 weeks apart. Ever since May, updates have been monthly and PD has said all along they want that frequent of updates. We have content guaranteed already in September, so if they get an update out in August that will make 5 straight months of new content. That's a big deal for PD. It would be the first time they've done that. There's no better marketing than keeping true to your company's word. Not to mention if they wait for September you'll start to get the community crying again that it's been so long since an update. But regardless you can't be so sure of yourself because unless you've talked to PD you don't, same as the rest of us.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been tracking GT6's revision update history. Below is a screen shot of every version, revision and build I've been able to capture. Dates are when I downloaded and installed each. The dates highlighted in gray are PSN updates. The average since December, excluding this month, is 3.25. February had none and the lowest month after that was April with only 2. Admittedly, most of them were patches to fix bugs and such, still, I think we'll see at least one more update this month. What it contains? I wouldn't care to hazard a guess.

The only things I'd like to see added to the game, aside from actual content, would be some useful community features and functionality to export race data.

So because you are busy, you hope other people can't play it either :odd:

I've seen similar posts during this week.
I don't understand that.
It's if people think that the track or update will only be there for one day and one day only.
Well I guess you probably right, but at the same time I didn't meant that I don't care that you guys wanna play on it, I was more of implying how there are other awesome things out there that you can do to fill up your time.

Yes I know I used my words poorly and gave that wrong impression, I guess I'm sorry then.

@Amac500 @NW48

It seems that the assumption was that there wouldn't be 2 updates in a short time, but if the Toyota was released early in September they could have an update next week in August and have it already included and just code it to release at a later date (like with the goodwood update).

Personally I don't think that's the case as it hasn't happened like that up to now.

The last patch was an unplanned bug fix and they know that.

I still think we'll get a proper update next week with a VGT car (or 2). Whilst I've no idea what happened February to May, since then there is a definite impression that they are working to a regular schedule and have things planned out.

If we don't get an update next week I think it will still be the case that one was intended for august but it just isn't ready for some reason.

Also re loading the new track, it occurred to me that Bathurst was only very recently optimised better. I wonder if they are using the same technique for the new track that they worked out for Bathurst as part of the solution (just a thought).

I may have to admit defeat on this one. There's a good chance that they may have the content ready and just be holding it for September to release alongside the VGT's to have a bigger "oomph" and make a bigger impact on the GT community.

Right, it's not necessary to release the track/features alongside the VGT/'s, but what better way to enjoy a new car than to race it on a new track/with new and improved features?

Whether it's Zahara/Sierra, a track editor, community features, another feature said to come "in a future update", or all of the above (doubtful), it would be better to group something with the VGT's than to implement the features alone. Makes the new vehicles that much more enticing. ;)

They have actually done this with a few updates already:
Brake calipers
Spoilers/wings
Red Bull Course
and some others that I'm too lazy to look up right now, but you know it's true. I would very much like an update next week, but if it doesn't come, September will simply be THAT MUCH MORE EXCITING to look forward to...

Possibly

Atleast we can still kinda anticipate a VGT for August, they have to double down on these cars if they want most of them out by 2015.

One of these months will likely be a VGT BLOWOUT. But there's also the drip feed option for longevity. I wouldn't put it past Kaz to break past his 1 year mark for VGT content. There's also the likelihood that other automakers, inspired by Toyota & VW, decide to do real world reveals/in-game reveals of their own, thus delaying the in-game reveal for the real ones production. There are some brandsthat may have made revisions as well. Kaz has even said that it's a possibility VGT may even continue on to GT7. Kinda curious to see how that goes, along with what new & real, street & race vehicles will be added to the GT7 roster.

I'm still holding a bit of hope for August however. I've only refreshed the news page, what... about a dozen times today alone?

I think September will be one of the busiest months since May.

Or actual race recording
Not really sure what you mean by this, since saving replays has been in the game since release, even if it was broke about 50% of the time for the first 2 months. I'm guessing you mean a direct export of the replay files to a self contained video file, such as mp4 or avi or whatever the latest compression format is. The problem with doing that is, the videos will not be interactive.

It would be nice if they could include qualifying sessions in the replay, for those races that had them.

When you think of the variety of locales and what's involved on this track, city streets, fields, lake, hills etc. if they have mapped this in as much detail as say nordsfhleife, you can't help but think this was an absolutely mammoth task. If they took 2 years to do nordsfhleife (which I remember reading somewhere when gt5 came out), I wouldn't be surprised if this has taken up to 3 years to build.

Which makes the wait even more unbearable.

(Still 7 days left in august. Fingers crossed)

I just hope they don't hold it back for GT7.

But if GT6/PS3 can't handle it or the track maker properly, being in code could be its final GT6 designation.

Let's just hope there's some RAM to spare when running the thing on our PS3's.

720p will likely be the saving grace for the course maker and this track.

Why would they want them all to be out by 2015? As long as they're out before GT7, but I'm not even sure PD takes that into account.

IF they want MOST of them out by 2015.

Important detail but my question still stands.
It would be ideal to have a sizeable number of them out by the time GT6 turns one year old. But you never really know as you point out.

Because the VGT Project was initially a 12 month plan. FIA content is planned for spring* 2015, so focus from VGT to the next stage/phase of GT6 development should be well underway by then.

@sparkytooth knows this as well & likely couldn't recall those details on the spot while responding.

Also the whole point of the VGTs were to celebrate Gran Turismo's 15th anniversary and it wouldn't make much sense for it too carry too far past the end of the year. Though then again PD is kind of at the mercy of the auto manufacturers on this whole project, so as much as we like to call into question PD's work ethic there might be nothing they can do on this one if the manufacturers but it on the back burner.

Also its unfortunately an even numbered year, so there isn't a Frankfurt Auto Show in September to look forward too, so I don't know what the next big event for a potential VGT unveiling would be. Maybe Essen in December?

Kaz has said that the VGT Project has shown significant promise, making a big ripple with many brands in the auto industry. With companies like Mini and others joining in on the project late, the question does remain, will it extend, possibly, well into 2015? Or will there be a VGT Project Series II? GT7 Edition? It will give us some production insight as well, if we clock the date from when it was announced that 'Mini' was joining, to the day the is released via update.

Hey, has anyone noticed a slot for 'Mini in the VGT section? 'Could give us insight into whether it's GT6 or GT7 bound depending on it's presence or lack thereof in the VGT section.
