Marussia Test Driver Maria de Villota in Serious Crash

Great to hear she's out of the hospital. 👍

Marussia to conclude de Villota crash caused by 'mistakes'

Marussia is tipped to reveal in the coming days that Maria de Villota's test crash was the result of a "chain of unfortunate circumstances and mistakes".

In the meantime, Germany's Auto Motor und Sport said Marussia is planning to release "within the next ten days" a further report about the circumstances leading up to de Villota's impact with a stationary truck.

Tough woman indeed. Maria has made her first public appearance since her accident. The link isn't for the faint of heart. There is a 3d image conveying the damage she sustained in the accident.

Fairly shattered right side of her skull and some on the left side too, shes very lucky not to have severe brain damage. It's great to see she is fine now 👍.

I can't even begin to comprehend how painful that must have been.

My homage. Wishing her the best, and the most complete recovery possible.

A woman driver, coming back from a life threatening (and life changing) accident.

This woman is absolute proof that anything is possible in this great sport of motor racing as long as you believe.

Glad to hear she's better. I wish her the best from here on out.

Best news possible

And a disgrace she will get no more coverage than a certain female NASCAR driver anytime soon.

Is Marussia saying 'the car was not at fault' basically saying that she was?

HRT are no longer in F1 so that would make Marussia last since Caterham beat them.
