1.5 inches is barely noticeable for something to be called the "Long Tail" version; the original GT was around 25 inches longer than the F1.

Also, it seems to be an ambiguous statement. The front end could also be longer with that deeper chin spoiler/fascia. Wouldn't it be hilarious if it was longer not because of the rear, but because of the front?

Mclaren 675LC

Long Chin.

I originally assumed that's how the car would increase in length; by the rear & the front expanding out much like the GT did. To be blunt, the 675LT seems like the 650S that finally dropped the MP4-12C rear & upped the power again. :indiff:

This is kind of a lateral thing, but does anyone else think that Mclaren has the ugliest alloys of the entire premium car spectrum? The 650S' look particularly "Pep-Boys" to me. The LeMans special looked far better because they were simple beefy 5 spokes.

i love their alloys.

The only thing long about this car is the tale they'll make up to explain why this car's tail isn't actually long.

Or the abbreviation to describe the car's actual shape:

The McLaren 675IABLTTNCBSNRTML, or to give it its full name, the McLaren 675 It's a Bit Longer Than The Normal Car But Still Not Really That Much Longer.

Supposedly the "LT" name is more in homage to the original, as the car is supposed to be similar in spirit to the F1 Long Tail... as a race-ready sports car.

Of course, if it were really that, they should have called it the 675GT. :dunce:

Silly name aside, the 675LT is an interesting car. Lots of aerodynamics, one commenter on another website guesstimates about 200 kg of downforce at about 180 mph... given the percentage increase of downforce McLaren is claiming.

Also dig the intakes and outlets in the sills and bumpers to clean the aero through the wheel wells.

And it comes on Trofeo R's... which are road-legal R-comp tires.

McLaren should just dump the 650S, rename the 675LT the 675GT, sell a 625GT with the same body, and 675LT and be done with it all. :D
