Go-Karts would be awesome, but I personally don't think stunt arenas and a track editor goes along with the style of GT.

Stunt arenas is really what I could never expect... this man from Sony not only confuses GT5 with ModNation Racers... but also with Destruction Derby!
Not 100% sure about this, but I am afraid they will correct that article soon

Here's to hoping that with the track editor, custom modders will be able to accurately recreate initial d touge tracks. It'll be fantastic tackling those tracks with realistic physics, unlike those of the arcadey initial d arcade machines.

Depends what they mean by stunt arenas. What if the stunt arenas are autocross/gymkhana areas? That would be a welcome addition for many people.

I still call this unconfirmed. We do not know if these features will make it into the final release of GT5. Its beyond rumor but its not confirmed.

Gran Turismo 5. The newest title of the Play Create Share line of Games for the Sony Playstation 3!

I'm not denying that it won't be awesome, but at this point of development, and haven't seen anything about go-karts, makes me put the go-karts in the doubt pile unfortunately.

Well it is a win win. If we get gokarts that is a great and interesting new addition to GT5. If we don't then you know PD didn't waste time adding gokarts instead of modelling premium cars.

+1 👍

Go-karting would be tons of fun, and it's where most (if not all) F1 drivers begin their career so that's a good reason to have it as well.

I can't help but be curious regarding the timing of this "leak" - it's a convenient bit of exceptional news shortly after everyone was upset over the standard/premium cars. :) (Granted, it seems few people outside of this community were upset over that.)

The article was posted on the 15th. Day 1 of E3.

I am drooling at the possibility of that happening

Guys... It's from Shuhei Yoshida, President of SCEWWS and posted on the official Playstation website, it can't be more official than that. Not to mention he's one of the board members of PD.

👍 unless Yoshida has completely lost the plot i'd say it's confirmed.

Also karting fits with the driving school thing.

I still think there's something wrong with it.
Don't you have some contacts at Sony which you could ask?

You get a quick peek at it around 7:14 👍

Yes, seeing as the track was fully modeled after the real location, they also included the inner grounds of the track. Doesn't mean anything more than that for now.
I have my fingers crossed and hope track editor isn't just for these rumored go karts.

I wonder if the track editing will be similar to PGR? Weather I am guessing will just be for certain tracks, also like PGR. I will be shocked if the weather is dynamic. I really dont expect that at all. But I also didnt expect a track editor either.

That's the date on the website. I think it is related to the date of the interview.
I can't imagine such a news being not caught by us for days... (even with the E3)
I made (I am sure I was not the only one) several, and frequent, google searches during these days; that article was not published the 15th (or for some reason was not caught by google engine, which I doubt)

Go Karting...? Holy sheet that'd be beyond awesome, though I'm not buying it til I see some screenshots.

Gokarts + rain = Endless fun.

Anybody ever done that in real life? Think it had to have been the most fun I've had driving anything in my life.

Go-karts may be used as a basic control tutorial, after all F1 drivers come through go-karting and they are some of the best drivers in the world.

As for track editing he is sony's top dog so he should be reliable.

Yes I have and it's great fun!

It says publish date, and is on the second page of news from the Sony website. There was alot of info from E3.

I said ages ago I thought it could be stadium events for WRC,you'd just plot out a route, but a Kart trak editor would be ace:dopey:

Weather effects is definately a great inclusion. But I'm not too fussed about the other things being included. I would have preferred it if they didn't include them and just released the game earlier. But oh well.
