You gotta remember people, its a track editor, not a creator, its very unlikely you will be able to create tracks from scratch. Take Madrid for example, relaying the route through the streets and the like, is probably what it will be.

I would love a full blown track editor to be true, but the logistics of it and the lack of mention or show up until now really makes me think we are setting ourselves up for another huge dissapointment with all this speculation as to what it could be. At this point in the game I am not even sure I trust the quotes from bigwigs anymore.

What's so bad about stunt arena? I'm thinking it'll be stuff similar to what you'd see on Top Gear, in which case it's good fun in my opinion.

Track editor doesn't excite me really. If the tracks in ModNation are anything to go by, it'll just be a pile of tracks that people have spent 5 minutes making and not even bothered to drive around to make sure they're not full of cock ups or even fun to drive.

I'll have to agree with this.

My best guess is that the gokarts, much like the stunt arena, are going to be more of a gimmick than one of the major aspects in GT Life mode.

I really doubt stunt arenas and go-karting are in GT5. If they are, then I can bet a lot of people will be pissed that PD did that instead of trying to get more Premium cars in.

Stunt arenas maybe like Ken Block and his tom-dickery with his drifting (good way to practice some mad drifting/handling skills) but I think Go-karts would be a great edition. Don't tell me you've never driven a go-cart before you were able to hit some high speeds in a real car =P.

I am shocked by this announcement. I have a close group of friends who will, without a doubt, be creating our hometown tracks.

Actually, I imagine people around the world will be doing this. I wonder if we can play.create.share like in Little Big Planet?

If there is some kind of filtering system to show which tracks are most in demand, I foresee a new online economy growing around the creation of high quality tracks.

It was frankly amazing to see the creativity expressed by some of the users in Forza 3. But what we are seeing here with GT5 is a whole different level of customization and feature set. This seals the deal, I am upgrading my living room to include one of those Custom cockpits from the ads I always see on this site.
