And I can tell you the faster half and slower half, although quite a few of them are basically indistinguishable.
I'm not sure if we could work something like that out so late in the game, but it's a neat idea that we should definitely do sometime. One could even take the results of this shootout, and use it to reform another one, on a different track in a different land. All hail psychosis, something terribly unforgiving. :crazy:


I work 10-15 hours a day monday through thursday, the OP will be fixed up over the weekend. 👍
I'm still testing the difference between real and low grip. Low grip is actually significantly more accurate for testing cars than real is, so if it doesn't fudge anything up, I'm actually considering it.
The reason is quite simple: The driver can't get in the way as easily.
That can also be the case for driving aids, but SRF is a criminal offense, and those found guilty will be slaughtered by fire-breathing dragons.
TCS, ASM, etc are banned.
Driving line is fine.
Should ABS be banned? :P
Aero is probably allowed, though I'm thinking mandatory on some over-steering cars and banned from the rest is the simplest way for testing. Thoughts?


I'm strongly considering allowing testers to run either forward, backward, or both. Sounds just crazy enough to make everyone happy.

I never use low track grip before, and the word real itself sounds much better :D ABS is up to you as a host :) I don't tune with one, but testers or most who drive my cars are using ABS 1 anyway. For aero, it should be okay as they will only add 20 point of aero, keep things interesting.

If you ever host another event, consider Cape Ring Inside or Cape Ring South for track :) They have nice flow with relatively short distance, good for 400-500PP cars.
 
I would like to add can to this, I have forgotten to change to real when starting a tune, get almost done, finally change to real and feel just as comfortable with the tune. This could, of course, just be my poor driving skill though (although it is getting better). :sly:
The main difference on low and real is the driving line. The black streak on the track has a good 50% more then the lighter color track when set to real. So if your always on it you won't notice much of a difference when you set it to real. But if your using a non standard line for the track you will feel it if the car was tuned with low grip and a line that PD didn't set as the fast line.
 
Got some checking specs done, last night before bed and,
Aero parts are banned, except:
SRT Viper GTS '13 - Custom wing B
Lamborghini Countach - Custom wing A
Viper ACR - Remove wing
Diablo GT2 '98 - Aero IS adjustable!


This will save testers further time trying to change body kits on and off in the event a car get entered more than once. (among other things)

ABS being banned was a joke. I won't alienate people like that. :lol:
Driving without ABS is it's own demon, and people will conquer it when and if they want to.


I would say tuners call for aero kits some tuners like them some don't. I feel rear wings are not needed except in very oversteering cars unless I'm going for consistency them most cars get them.


I've been doing mixed grip level testing on joint tune @shaunm80
And I are working on and I will tell you a car tuned on grip real and driven on grip low performs fantastic but a car tuned on grip low and driven in real is horrible.
See that is exactly what I was looking for.
I do use low for parity testing frequently, and it works very well. (I don't lose laps to nipping the grass as much) But if it affects tuning, it can't be used. (Not in my shootout anyway)


I always tune online, in a private lobby,tire wear,fuel low, grip real,slipstream real. Replicates real world and there is no issue if you want to go online.
That's how I ran all of these cars in initial stages, then verified them offline. 👍

Now, regarding grip low/real.
In GT5, I remember cars were significantly faster in a straight line with grip set to low. In GT6, they are a bit slower, in fact. :eek:
As of currently, I have found no difference whatsoever.

However, for the sake of the shootout, this won't be a testing ground for that and we won't try something new, instead I'll make a grip comparison thread, if there isn't one already, and put my findings there. 👍

With Engine stage 1 + Super charger = 560PP / 562HP
I'm not on the PS3 currently, did you try ES2? Sounds like it's ES2 or 3 then, but I will check later if needed.
Hoping I didn't accidentally grab an old car with an oil change. :lol:
 
I've got it the same as the OP. Supercharger and ES1 for 568pp and 590 BHP
Did you do an oil change? I'm still getting 562/1500/560 with E.Stage 1 + SC, Limiter at 100%

check your Power limiter that's the most likely culprit.
Its out off the box, nothing touched except trying to put on the power parts.

@CSLACR , I've tried a few combinations but it's not happening. EDIT : just tried the oil change and it works, but OP says
Transmissions are stock for all.
No flat floors.
No oil changes.
No chassis reinforcement because it cannot be undone.
Nothing that changes the power, weight, or PP of a listed vehicle.

Generally speaking, I tried to reach figures with as few parts as possible. It's likely the Stingray will just get an engine stage upgrade if plausible.

An oil change is about equal to a Sport Cat and Intake tuning. Give thouse parts a shot see if you get close to the listed numbers.

The best way I've found to check if an oil change has been performed is to remove all the parts and check the PP against the dealership example, you can't trust the power/torque figures in the dealership (they frequently lie :lol:) but the PP is always accurate 👍
 
@CSLACR don't forget to check the Viper GTS '02 as well ;) With your given specs I get 690 instead of 680. PP575 and Weigth 1569 are correct 👍

FYI: I bought it new from the dealer
Mine is 680HP, I believe your power rating is PS, or something equal to it. 562HP is 570 PS, so it stands to reason 680HP is 690PS.

I just checked the OPs, and why I'm under the Tuners section? I asked to be a tester! I can't tune a car if it meant my life! :lol:

I am a DS3 user so I have no idea how this will handle for wheel users. For the DS3 I used -1 for sensibillity. I changed the settings many times but I kept comming back to the one above. It suited my drive style quite well. However I haven't ran GT6 in a long time and the last couple of weeks / months I returned slowly to the game. Photomode mainly and when I saw this shoot-out I thought, well why the hell not :lol:

I am not used to run these kind of cars, I prefer the 400 to 450 range so this was a big challenge. Well anyway, I hope the testers will still be able to enjoy:cheers:
