**Mid-week Caterham Racing League- MCRL**sign up now**

At CSR5
20 min was really long for the stock race and when I did 20 laps for the tuned race it took around 10 min for the race and the racing was very close

I think your math is a little bit off. The tuned cars were only 4 seconds quicker than the stock ones. 54 seconds vs 58 seconds. The length of the race only varied by about a minute and a half, not 10 minutes.

So we were looking at something like ~56 sec/lap (field average) x 20 laps = 1120 seconds = 18 min 40 sec. And that was about a perfect race length. So just go about 20 mins each race and we'll be good.

As for the reason the racing was closer in the tuned race, well that's quite simple. The tuned cars are easier to drive because you can tune some of the crappy handling out of it, and the accelerate quicker, which makes it less of a momentum car, and makes spinning out a bit less deadly because you don't have to wait for the car to wind up through the long 1st gear. The tuned car is a lot more user friendly than the stock car.

well even though we had a low count there was some good races alau02 showed up for the tuned race and won and no_bull_racin97 won the stock race. congrats to both!! I'm debating whether or not to have a third preseason race because I had a crazy idea. What do yall think about racing an off road race maybe next season I'll make a spin off for off road only or maybe add in some off road tracks to the calendar for next year. Let me know what you guys think.

never mind you can't buy dirt tires for the caterham

Some nice racing, though numbers were short. Really need to practice with the tuned car though, or all races would be dirt. Heck, could probably find a random speck of dirt on Monaco the way today went :sly:

Must not suggest something stupid for one off; like Kart Space, Autumn ring mini or Top Gear Test Track...

By the way, if we stay with current qualifying system, don't back out! You lose your times :dopey:! That or introduce formation laps so the order can be sorted if we want to keep same kind of time pattern.

BIG NEWS

I have decided to push the first MCRL season race back one week in order to test a new race procedure that may be benificial to the league.

here is what I am proposing.

-two races for both stock and tuned same number of laps for both
-the first race will be stock and we will qualify for 15min
-second race will be reverse grid of the first
-then we repeat the process for the tuned races with a 10 min break in between the second race and qualifying for the third race

thanks to MonSpaNur for suggesting this to me

3rd preseason race will be next week instead at tsukuba for 10 laps each

practice lobby open: 1472-6118-4130-9220-0098

room closed third preseason race tomorrow
