I'm really not looking forward to this 1, this track just hates the NSX, at least the lowest 2 races don't count

I predict an all GT-R podium, will be very impressed if an NSX gets on there, will require supreme skill to do that!!

Quickest I can do is a 1.09.9

What setup do you all have on your brakes? I've got 5/7.

I worry about hitting people from behind when braking. Have you all got stronger brakes at the front?

It is better to have stronger brakes on the front...I have 5/2

It really depends on the car and your driving style. I almost always end up with stronger brakes on the rear, on my NSX I'm running 5/7, I had to lower the front to keep the front wheels from locking up. Strong front brakes also cause my car to "nose dive" under hard breaking, which unsettles the car right before turn in. I use the LSD to prevent lockup.

To avoid running into people under braking you have to remember that when drafting into a corner, you will be running faster than normal and will have to brake earlier than normal. Also consider that the person you are following may brake a lot earlier than you do anyway. Just make sure to brake early to get a gap between you and the car in front, either that or swing out to the side to get out of his draft, that will prevent a collision in case you don't brake early enough.

Having stronger front brakes shifts all the weight to the front wheel and there is less force pressing the rear wheels down...As a result the car may oversteer..However going back on the accelerator may solve this because all the weight goes back to the rear tires however you may understeer due no weight on the front wheels...Its about finding the balance...With stronger front brakes I have 10% throttle atleast while cornering to balance the weight...

I do most of the time but find stronger on the rear works better on Xanavi GT-R. Well I find it better anyway!

OK thanks for that.

Think I will keep the same setup then and just take your advice on board. I do try and brake to the side on other cars when possible to avoid contact but then when I go down the inside and brake late that can create problems with contact. Although I am improving on this so hopefully I won't have any incidents tonight.

The main concern of mine was that my setup was different to everyone else's but sounds like it is ok.

What happend tonight in my lounge Garagefather? I didn't have my mic on when you first entered, when I did put it on, I couldn't hear you and don't think you could hear me. After you left, I left also to see if you were in your lounge, but it didn't show you as online.

I could have used some tips for this track, it's definitely not one of my favorites. :)

I entered your lobby to apologize for last week in person, so to speak. I wasn't sure if you quit because of me or you were just frustrated.:guilty:

You changed from blue to black with the loading bar on my screen when you mic'd up. I tried to leave and reenter and it gave me some BS about not being on a compatible network or something. Who knows but PD?

:tup:I run 8/6 on the GT-R. I always use more front than rear. Like 8/5 or 4 on NSX. I like the brakes biased just like a real car is. The car is more stable under hard braking.👍

You did it again garage, another brilliant performance, the legend grows...

gprili that was comeback of the season, to finish 2nd was outstanding considering the crash and damage you suffered on lap 2, looking good for you to take silver this season as you have done in most races ;)

Looks like the battle for 3rd spot on the podium is still on between Trebor, Myself & Hurleyman though :)

Garagefather's Recap:

Did I mention I like Deep Forest?:)👍

After The bitter pill I swallowed at the 24hrs of Lemans (Super GT style), I was a man on a mission this week at one of my favorite fantasy tracks. I tried several different tunes this week but ended up fairly similar to my Tokyo tune. Both tracks have a faster overall pace than tracks like Grand Valley and Nurb GP so a similar tune worked out pretty well.

What I like so much about the current tune on the GT-R is the tire wear and performance I achieve over an entire stint. I tried Praiano's tune (straight up and tweaked) for the Yellow Hat GT-R and killerkandy's (kk20) and was actually faster with Praiano's but only for the first couple of laps. I could punish the clock for 5 laps and then the times took a beating. I went back to a modified Tokyo tune and I was slightly slower on my fastest laps but I was rewarded with average times over a stint near 1:09- 1:09:5. I would still be in the 1:09s at lap 13 of a 16 lap stint. I would lay down my fasted lap at about 7 or 8 in a stint with my fastest at 1:07:3 on my third stint. With my style and the car tune, it is like driving a slot car once I got my shift and brake points memorized. :sly:

I was again a little surprised how I ran away with it this week considering the times that people were laying down in practice. I think my success this week was similar to Tokyo in that my tires and times remained strong while others faded.

Next weeks challenge at Fuji promises to be a blend of fast and flowing corners of Deep Forest with the tight and technical corners of Nurb GP. I think the long straight and draft could play a big part. The leader will find it hard to escape if the cars in chase remain close enough. I look forward to the challenge on a track that is as good as any for Super GT.:)👍

If you GT-R guys want my tune let me know. I am guessing some of you may not like it unless your style is similar to mine. Just know their is no shame in sharing since this is a Beginner/ Intermediate skill league meant to hone skills and improve competition. I happened on something that really works for me (on this style track at least) and I am willing to share.👍 My tunes get refined for each track but I never know that until practice.:) If you want it, just send me your credit card number and.......Just kidding:lol:

:lol:Just let me know and I will send it to you or post it if there are numerous requests.👍

Tunes are personal but it may help you guys. If it helps too much, the other guys might get ticked.:ouch:

If I had a good NSX or SC430 tune I would share it. I have a good Supra tune but I think Hurley has a handle on the tuning.:sly:👍

Either way, I just want us all to have fun and be competitive.

Well I enjoyed last night and drove pretty well I think.

Started off with a good battle with Trebor but then he retired and I had another good battle with gprili for quite a while. Whilst this was happening we seemed to close in on 2nd and 3rd to put myself in contention for a podium.

I remember on the 28th lap my right hand started to cramp up which did make things difficult for the remainder of the race. I then spun in the tunnel for one of the few mistakes I made and that allowed Soopa to overtake me.

But going in the last few laps myself, Soopa and Allascato were all very close and challenging for a podium place. Then on the last lap I overtook Allascato and was behind Soopa after the first corner when I hit garagefather from behind when he was on his parade lap. I did feel I was driving well so disappointing not to get the chance to overtake Soopa on the final lap. Not to be though and looking to kick on now at Fuji..

Kingy you had an awesome drive, I was very impressed, there were times when you started to catch and I had to step up my pace (though I wanted to save my tyres). Allascato lost control on lap 24 allowing me to pass, but then on lap 28 I lose control on turn 1/2 allowing kingy and gprili through, my incident was weird as the back seemed to just snap all of a sudden and then it felt like I was drifting off the track in slow motion. I was gutted as I was keeping a fast steady pace and 2nd may have been mine if it weren't for my mistake. I manage to get back on track ahead of allascato and start closing the gap on kingy/gprili, by the time we exit the pits on lap 33 I'm almost in kingy's slipstream, but allascato who had pitted earlier managed to overtake both me and kingy as we exit the pit lane. kingy makes a mistake going into turn 6 on his cold tyres and I pass him, allascato has warm tyres and is pulling away, but he makes a mistake at turn 10 on lap 35 and I pass him again but this time he's rejoined in my slipstream and comes back past me by the start of the next lap.

I spend the next few laps chasing hard and slowly pull away from kingy but allascato is also pulling away from me, I decide to ease off a little to conserve my tyres and avoid a mistake, then just try to keep kingy at the same distance behind me for the rest of the race. I then notice I'm starting to catch allascato who's front tyres are starting to fade, so I pick up the pace a little and am right behind him by lap 43, on lap 44 I manage to get past him at turn 12 having got a really good drive out of turn 11. He retakes position at turn 1 on lap 45 and a battle for position ensues throughout that lap with me finally taking 3rd at the final turn, this battle obviously slows us down and by this time kingy is on allascato's tail, I try my best to put in a really fast lap while they battle and manage to shake them free of my slipstream lap 46. After this I ease off the pace for the last couple of laps and just manage the distance kingy had behind me so as not to make a mistake and not let him get my slipstream. The incident with kingy/allascato getting past garage's parade lap was unfortunate, guess thats the problem you have with a pro driver in amongst the average on such a short track, but if it makes you feel any better kingy I had really good tyre life left and I was able to turn up the pace if you'd got too close on the last lap ;)

With so few participating this week we should see all the action in the highlight video, as my notes are only 2 pages long this week, I also hope to show garage's amazing 1:07 in all its glory, if I can just find which lap he did it on ;)

Finally I'd just like to give a huge thanks to Boshuter, without your tune I wouldn't have been anywhere near the podium, the car was always gonna be a handful on this track so what you did to tame it was truly astonishing to me
You really seem to have suffered with bad luck this season, firstly having to start off in a car you hated, so your championship position really doesn't do you justice and I really hope you can pull something off to improve your position in the final 4 races...

I'm glad that tune worked for you Soopa 👍

I never was comfortable on this track, for the first 8-9 laps everything was ok, not good, but ok. But I spun the car on lap 9 and after that it was like the thing was on ice, I couldn't keep it on the track. I finally just dropped out because I knew I wasn't going to be in contention and sure didn't want to be in everyones way.

It seems like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for me this season. Right before the start of the first race, my paddle shifter quit working so I've had to run with automatic, then last week my brake pedal started hanging up. I ended up having to borrow a DFGT just to keep racing. Hopefully I'll have a new wheel soon and can get it setup and back in form. I'm pretty much out of it, but hopefully we will have a season 2 and things will work out better. :)

Next season will be the same format, I want to give the defending champion a chance to retain the title before we move on, there will be a few track changes but other than that we will run the same.

I suppose I may as well dispose of the secrecy now, I've given enough away for people to know there will be penalties the higher up you finish, I was more concerned with those at the bottom of the table giving up to gain an advantage next season than those at the top. It's nothing much really, just that rather than having a first come first served for car choice, I thought we should allow choice of car based on reverse order of the championship standings. So whoever finished last gets first pick and the champion must defend the title in whatever is left. It means you will all have to keep a close eye on the forum at the end of the season to get your choices in asap since we'll be going straight into season 2.
This was my idea in order to make it more competitive, I didn't think weight penalties carried over to a new season was very fair, so this is what I came up with. Although if garage continues in his current form he could probably defend his title in a Prius

Season 3 I plan to change things up a little, will probably go for a Super GT championship where GT500 & GT300 will run at the same time, it will be a bit more difficult to manage the race start and may involve a formation lap or something with the GT300's starting about 20 secs behind... Or maybe GT500 again but with teams running the same car with a maximum of 2 cars the same. JGTC teams could also be an option since the cars are all available. Alternatively I'm looking at trying to recreate the BTCC with us running in teams, but not all the cars that run in 2011 are available in the game, so I'm still working on this but I think it could be fun if we can get the cars performing close to real life.

I never planned for the MRC to always run GT500, but it does seem to be the most popular kind of series and one of the few where the cars are all available, let me know what you guys think about the future of the MRC for next season and beyond ;)

I like the idea of GT300 being introduced at some stage to mix it up. Also, teams will be interesting and will add extra responsibility too. I'm sure there will be less cars retiring if they are racing for a team.

By the way, if anyone touches my Xanavi GT-R next season I will be absolutely fuming!! ;)

Am looking forward to the highlights this week Soopa. I'm sure you won't be cruel and show me spinning in turn 6 though. Thanks in advance for not showing that 👍

 ... you know how it goes kingy, I show as much of the action as possible to best represent how the race went, I'm afraid several of us will be subjected to watching ourselves lose control!! ;) :nervous:

I really regret retiring from this race, but being really tired on a course that needs full concentration it was probably the best way to go instead of crashing into someone costing them positions. I was really slow, everyone was pulling ahead and catching up, probably of came last anyway

Anyway, Fuji raceway, indy road course and monza, 3 fast racetracks and 3 tracks that i love (and nurburgring, but we'll get there when we get there). im going to work very hard to get my car to perform its best on these tracks, im going to get some early practice in and post my time for Fuji later.

I won't get to start practising until Tuesday at the earliest, as I have another league on a Monday night I need to get a setup for, I'm gonna try and get more hours in for the MRC in these last few races so I can challenge you for that podium spot ;) I also like the remaining tracks and I think they should be good for the NSX too...

I like 3 of the last 4 tracks. I'm not a big fan of Indy to be honest. So I expect to finish well down the field again on that one.

This weeks video highlights are now up.

Garage-father got a well deserved spotlight lap in the video this week, he was incredible all race and the 1:07.302 fastest lap he set was all by himself on lap 35, I know its a short track but he also went on to lap everyone except 2nd place!

gprili that was comeback of the season, to finish 2nd was outstanding considering the crash and damage you suffered on lap 2, looking good for you to take silver this season as you have done in most races ;)

thanks Soopa, I did a good start but after I was behind Garage_father I went wide and I was stuck between the fence and Allascato that was coming. After that mess I chilled down and started to do many good (not extraordinary) laps and after some battles with Kingy and Allascato (and after many mistakes by everyone) I was able to regain my second position...

GREAT VIDEO SOOPA AS ALWAYS!!

about fuji... my first best test time is 1:30.979
