I've had a couple of incidents reported and spotted a few myself during the first run through of the replay, it's gonna take some time to sort these out so there will be a delay in posting results and video this week, gonna have my work cut-out editing all the action again but it's great to watch. :)

In general though it looked like a good race and I certainly enjoyed my part in it, although I do feel bad for stealing a position from Hurley on the last lap for the second time this season, sorry dude but I took a gamble on pushing my worn tyres to catch you and it paid off.

Garagefather's Recap:

It is better to be lucky than good.

I didn't work my tune much this week due to the nice balance and tire wear with the current tune and the fact that a good friend had a tragedy happen this week which diverted my attention away from such trivial pursuits as GT5.

We are truly blessed in the free world.:gtpflag:

I have to say the first stint was a bit treacherous for me but I survived to battle again. Trebor, Hurley, and Soopa had great pace and were very frisky. Soopa battled to the front and an incident ahead of me catapulted me to 2nd pretty early. The big draft was a good equalizer and the race remained tight. I had some difficulty with traffic and Trebor was able to recover and catch us up from an earlier incident he was involved in.

I got shafted a little on pit 1 due to traffic but that is racing.:grumpy:

I battled with Soopa most of the second stint and had a difficult time catching the consistently fast Trebor. I could gain on the final laps of a stint but it was too little too late after battling Soopa for so long on our stint 2.

By the second pit I had increased the gap over Soopa enough to break the draft. I wasn't as badly penalized on pit 2 but I still seemed to pit slower than Trebor. I thought I would gain on Trebor since I wasn't contending with Soopa's pressure but I was mostly just about even with him most laps. I knew I would gain slightly over a stint but did not think it would be enough.

Unfortunately, Trebor was involved in an unfortunate collision with Hurley and spun about lap 35. Lacking any sort of pride about taking advantage of the situation:rolleyes:, I darted between the spinning Trebor and the slowed Hurley (who I had gained on due to them battling for first). I knew Hurley's tires were beat because he was on a 1 stop strategy and we were catching him pretty quickly after our second pit. He battled with Trebor to retain his position which slowed Trebor and allowed me to gain time substantially faster. I was surprised when they both wrecked but quickly took advantage.:sly:

I really think Trebor had the pace to win it but it didn't work out for him.Tough luck.:ouch:

I would have rather battled him for the win but, like I said, I don't have so much pride that I would not take the win any "fair" way I could get it.

Good run Trebor, I think you were the class of the field but I was the lucky one. Like I said, it is better to be lucky than good!

That was a fun race even though I was the last of the finishers.:(
Just saw some of the replay and apparently it wasn't lag,it seems Gprili bounced off another car into me.
But I kind of returned the serve later trying to pass at the 5th last corner which is a awkward right hander.:P

Passed out at 9 pm and woke up at 3 am , sorry i missed it guys , im just burned out after a week of work , need to set my alarm next time . in practice i was running consistent 1 35's in my high tire wear phase , will try my best to make the next race looks like it was awesome

It was a bad race for me yesterday. Lost many positions at the start. At a certain point I was chasing boshuter and I did not expect him to brake so early in the last turns and I hitted him, he spinned a little. I felt bad and I waited for him something like 20 seconds. Got passed by cobrius and kingy and then boshuter retired :grumpy:. The rest of the race I was following cobrius and kingy and I managed to pass them. Sorry Whincup_88 If I hitted you, I have to see the replay I don't remember when it happened :(

It was after the altercation with a red NSX,near the last couple of corners.
Don't blame you though because frankly the visibility is terrible,no rear view mirrors, useless side mirrors, small windows and thick A pillars.
Heck in cockpit view I cannot see that last corner at all but sadly I am not used to driving in any other view.
I suspect the red NSX also had a similar issue with the visibility at turn one lap one so no hard feelings there.

My recap::banghead:
yep, thats how i felt after the race, as garage said theres being good, then theres being lucky. only being good was with me last night, but no luck!

the first lap went well, managed to get into the lead then lap 2, taken out by hurley! I'm not going into detail in till i hear more from the 'stewards' but i had to gain on the front runners quick, which i managed to do.

After the first pit i was ahead with garge and soopa behing fighting for 2nd. garage managed to break draft with soopa but after that i was pulling ahead and was 5 seconds ahead at one point.

the last half was still the same but hurley ahead with his 1 stop. when i caught up, he takes me out again!!!!!!!!! I could of won this race! I managed to complete my main objectives of finishing ahead of soopa but to think i could of been the first person to beat garage (when he is running full laps ;)) 2nd is good for me though.

Looking forward to indy, the race i'm most looking forward to as it's my best track

Damn Trebor thats some killer pace! Still good position after being taken out twice. But hey at least you're not last like me.:(

Is it too late to join?

You can have the #23 XANAVI NISMO Z '08 as the driver has been a no show 4 weeks in a row now and is not responding to my PM's

My recap:

I had a good race, lap 2 I caught good draft and shot past trebor/hurley and managed to stick turn 1 inside both of them, I was also fortunate to benefit from the incident between the 2 of them and gained an early lead. I knew this wouldn't last with drivers behind me benefiting from drafting each other and sure enough a few laps later garage and allascato are right behind me and with trebor also having caught the 2 of them a four way battle for the lead ensued (great to watch and be a part of). At the end of the first stint trebor and I have broken away from the other two and I enter the pits right behind trebor, unfortunately as I'm so close when trebor turns in to his pit crew my car is slowed to 30mph to let him in, back up to 50mph after that but it was enough for me to have lost the draft by the time we exit the pits and he is away :ouch: Have learnt a valuable lesson there!!

During the 2nd stint me and garage battle for most of this and realising he is much quicker than me I start drafting him down the straight and get right back in front of him to pull him along and then allow him back through turn 1 so that we can both catch trebor. I make a couple of mistakes towards the end of the stint though and garage breaks away to catch trebor on his own.

3rd stint I exit the pits just ahead of allascato who had pitted a lap earlier, a few mistakes on my cold tyres and he is all over me and for a couple of laps we trade places, I eventually out drive him through the turns once my tyres are bedded in and get him off my slipstream then slowly creep away. With about 3 laps to go I see Hurley in the distance down the straight, I was aware he was on a one stop and thought I could push a little harder to try and catch him. My tyres are also worn but I get closer and closer and catch him in the complex on the last lap, I come out of the last turn behind him with good drive and just manage to draft past him to snatch the podium from his grasp. :sly:

My recap:

I had a good race too, but I was too nervous being close with the fast guys. :nervous: I'm not used to and I made some mistake, again I'm sorry and I will accept any penalty if it is the case. I give some big bump two or three times if I remember right. :guilty:

In the first stint was fantastic to fight with soopa and garage and later with trebor. I could keep the pace quite easily until the first stop. I also felt myself quicker than soopa in some turns, maybe because of the maximum downforce I've set, but I was too aggressive and I gave some bump to soopa and garage.

I also have to say sorry to garage when I pit the first time for cutting his line.
In the first stop I put the fuel for mistake and that made my car slightly heavier than soopa, so he could pull me away, brake the draft and slowly put a gap of a few seconds.

The rest of the race I was alone and ended quite easily in fifth position. Maybe, doing a perfect race, I could fight for the podium but it's still a good race.

Was surprising that also this time Garage caught up the first and won, I didn't think he could and was also surprising when I saw soopa third in the last seconds. Anyway, despite the mess I've done, was a fun race.

Next time I had to be less aggressive and more calm. :)

Bye.

You guy's think we should have a manufacturers championship next time? That would be awesome.
I hear ya Allascato this is the closest racing I've had ever.

I agree :) to have a team championship would be awesome 👍

I also like the idea of a team championship, however next season will be the same format, this seasons champion can defend his title and it will be up to us as individuals to stop him. Starting as soon as this season ends (8th October), car choice for next season will be a 2 day first-come-first-served amongst the bottom 8 drivers from season 1, after that the top 8 will choose in reverse order, the champion getting whatever is left over.

Season 3 I'd like to introduce teams, two of each car will be allowed to enter, those that choose the same car will be team mates. We may stick with GT500 or have SuperGT with a mix of GT500 & GT300 running at the same time. It will largely depend on what you guys want to do. We can decide the finer details nearer the time but teams will definitely feature ;)

Recap over the accidents on my screen. both times trebor overran the turn and I cut inside then he got grip and came back and hit my bumper. I ran the line, he overran and tried to correct. I can't be sure because of timing errors due to lag but thats what i saw.

As I saw it on my replay, on lap 2 in turn 1, Soopa came in on a draft pass and had position which forced Trebor wide. Contact between Trebor's right front and Soopa's left rear occurred as Trebor attempted to apex as Soopa exited. He attempted to return to the track but your left front was there to hit his right rear. He had position to take the line and there was no way he could have saw you. You did slow and allow him to keep his position but it looked like you could have avoided the contact. I think you knew that and that is why you slowed to allow him to retain his position.

On lap 35 you bumped him under braking in turn 1 and he went wide due to that. He should have been afforded the room to reenter where he could and retain his position since he went off due to your contact.

Both hits were really light but they upset the Raybrig none the less.

I can say, w/o being too negative and poisoning our thread, or taking away from the best battle all year for the league as a whole, that upon further review, Trebor was no angel either. I think he was a victim of karma to an extent.

I wasn't perfect either. I am just glad that for how hard I was running to catch up, that I never put anyone off.:scared:

It was a tough battle with a lot of lead changes and hard driving. That is how it should be. We just need to watch the etiquette and be patient. Never easy.:banghead:

You all have to admit that it was a great battle even though it was a little rough around the edges.:)👍

I concur, well said

Just want to add to newcomer nealcropper, I know you didn't have time to prepare but you were on racing intermediate tyres, these are for wet conditions when there are dry patches! That said you did incredibly well to stay with the drivers around you for as long as you did. Remember to put your racing soft tyres on next week and I'm sure you'll do alot better ;)

Results have been posted, now I've finished deliberating over the incidents I can get on with the video :)

Quite surprised I had the 3rd fastest lap! Shame I couldn't produce that in qualification and also more consistently through the race.

I had some good battles with hurleyman and cobrius mainly and 8th is a bit disappointing in the end. Overtaking 2 cars on the straight was probably my highlight..

Superb highlights as always Soopa..

Was quite surprised how much contact took place during the race. Looks like I missed out on all the fun!!

Another great video soopa! even though i don't like looking back at this race :ouch:

looks like some people seemed to get off lightly with penalties at the back of the grid, there was a lot of contact

Unfortunately I only get so much time to go through the replay, so I rely on people reporting any incidents they feel wronged by, if it isn't reported then I won't always spot it. There was one incident I can think of which I saw and didn't penalise because I felt the driver had penalised himself and it wasn't reported either. I try and give out penalties as fairly as I can but it all depends on the circumstances, I think its pretty well laid out in the OP...
