Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Ran some practice laps with MontalvoMC

the car feels nice here , still havent found a nice flow to the track yet but more or less i am comfortable.

a 1 stop is possible but i will more than likely go for the safe 2 stopper.

Guys I just wanted to say thankyou, now this might sound a little soft, but I have been online tonight in the open lobbys, and have noticed how much better I have got, not just with the dfgt, but actually how I drive, and it has made the game a million times more enjoyable, and it's all because of this and kingy's (random racer club) leagues. So soopa thankyou for all the hours you put in, I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure that the others will agree with me when I say that your hard work is appreciated, its because of people like you that people will continue to appreciate this masterpiece for a long time to come.

I can definitely say you have improved since the first time we raced. Just keep practicing and it will help you in the long run.

Yeh neal never give up you will become as good as us very soon , just keep putting in the practice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,I was impressed with your pace when you ran the wheel on Sarthe first time.
Just keep at it and you can punch out a good consistent race sooner or later.

Glad to hear you're getting on so well, I enjoy racing with the MRC and we have a great bunch of people here who are always keen to help each other out, but hearing stories like this makes all the effort in running the league even more worthwhile 👍

It's great fun this series,I don't care too much about position as long as I have a good race.
Even though the NSX's had problems on Trail Mountain I still had a good time!
I remember chasing down Soopa while Kingy was trying to catch me at the start,a small battle with Allascato in the middle then ZK chasing me down in the end.
It's just about having fun for me.At least until I improve enough to chase a podium.

That's right. It's about the fun. Winning's just a bonus. All the better if you've had a breakthrough, like yours being improvement in skills and mine being the NSX's setup.
I've been a back-runner this whole season but I stay in it, why? Because it's great fun to run with friends. Great fun to share troubles with friends. :P (NSX people, probably except the immortal alien) Great fun to run with midpack and podium runners before inevitably falling back all the way.
Great fun to drive. To race. ;)

Yea in glad I stuck with it now, I still might not b a frontrunner but I'm definitely enjoying it more than any other game I own ( namely MW3 and BF3).

Has anyone entered that leauge for the seat?? It's on the news page.

EDIT: guys I have just found out that I can't make the race Friday, I gotta medieval banquet to go to, It only finishes at half 1, sorry soopa, my commitment to season 3 will be tenfold.

It's not the winning, it's the taking part! 👍 Well that's what I tell myself each week...

Good to see you are improving with the wheel neal and see you at Spa.

I blame my performance last week on a late change in controller. I got a new one and the reaction times on it seem to be a lot worse than my original one. I noticed it when I was getting caned on Fifa because of it.

So, I am back with the old controller and hopefully I will do a bit better at Fuji.

Guys I'm really sorry for it to come to this but I must drop out. I have personal matters that I must attend to and if I have extra time I will return. I'm sorry once again.

Its a real shame to lose you whilst leading the championship, I will keep you in the loop for next seasons signup, hope you make it back soon 👍

I'm sad to see Montal go but happy at the same time , hopefully you just miss this race and make it back for the next .

Fuji practice tonight starting around. 8 30 - 9 pm gmt

I'll be there SkengD :)

Fuji does look promising based on some testing I did with Montal earlier in the week , I had better tire wear than him ( can you believe that ) .

I've developed my Calsonic quite a bit since the start of the season : )

If I can beat the NSX cars here and have no or little mistakes I should be on the podium

Skeng what is the trick to tire wear?

I think it has to do with camber , brake balance and driving style .

You seemed to have had a breakthrough with the nsx and tire wear last race thats why i asked you to show me the settings you used .

Still undecided what car i will use next season , really love the GTR's but I think i will leave the decision up to my teammate.

Skeng what is the trick to tire wear?

I'm not anyone to tell someone else how to tune their car, but I find that if I put my brake balance to 5 on the front and 7 on the rear then front tyre wear is reduced by a lot, then a little bit of negative toe in both front and back and tyre wear is usually good. Of course this in in a gtr, so nit sure what that would do to a nsx.

Sad to see you go.

I wish I could have had some more battles with you but for the most part you outperformed me. I'm sorry to see such a talented driver leave the MRC. Guys like you challenge us all to improve.

I hope that whatever is troubling you is resolved in short order. Hope to race you again down the road.

Sincerely,

Garagefather

Hey mc, I owe u a lot pal, and I'm gutted t c u leave, u near enough walked me through gpd, hope everything will be ok for u m8, c u in season 3

I was surprised as I was actually pushing it quite hard and yet the wear indicators barely moved.

In last nights practice Gprilli had the pace , could it be time for his first win , its quite overdue .

Fuji is a great track , requires lots of patience on the throttle and precise braking.

I am struggling with my braking points here , especially the first corner after start/finish.

Bad race, should not have changed those 2 settings, made the car have awful braking oversteer and the wear dropped off alot later on.
It was so bad that at the end of the race down the back straight I had wheelspin at 150+mph.
First turn I had nowhere to go on the right then moved left and ran into a GTR,then bounced off into the grass.Won't use cockpit view to start next time.
It was also frustrating to have people you passed draft back pass you on the straight.
Then after that I got involved with a GTR again,he spun out right in front of me and I had nowhere to go,bounced off him again into a wall.
Frustrated.

Sorry for the bumps Soopa and anyone else I managed to hit, I can assure you they were not at all intentional but to be honest, I expected it at Fuji, horrible track for me. :ill:
At least the replay gives me a clear view of the incident where Allascato spun, it appears to be a racing incident so I'm glad I wasn't at fault for that because I was unclear at the time.

Still, I had a few nice laps of racing with allascato, lot's of overtakes. Was going for 4th but I completely messed up the pit stop, braked way to late and missed it to avoid overshooting the entry chicane. After that I was pushing hard to catch up but it wasn't to be. 5th is good though considering it's Fuji.

Well done to IMMORTAL and the other podium finishers. Good luck tomorrow in Spa gp, skeng and allascato. As soon as I get back from work, I'l be practising non-stop.👍

Great race chaps, well done IMMORTAL, you are an animal!!

Congrats to SkengD & Garagefather, both improving on their grid positions to take a podium 👍

It was also frustrating to have people you passed draft back pass you on the straight.

It is frustrating but thats racing, it happens in real life and I don't think GT5 is too far off the mark with the effect it has now ;)

Good luck with the race tomorrow guys, I should get back in time to catch most of the race so I'll be there cheering you on, do us proud 👍

I felt sick at the beginning of the race and after I while I had to go to ...

I'm so sorry I bumped a little SkengD and Soopa but I was not so focused.

I'm so frustrated because in qualify I had a 1.33.90x that was very good :ouch:

Sorry for my no show last night.

I was intending to race but after a tough week at work I fell asleep at about 9pm last night and didn't wake up (well until now of course).

I will see you all at Spa.
