Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Hmm. This race was disappointing. D: (Not to mention my epic fail moment for accidentally starting the race! :P Sorry guys!)

Fuji isn't the easiest tracks , had a great start and jumped from 4th to 2nd in the first corner , got some bumps from Gprilli in the first few laps which made immortal open up a gap which I couldn't pull in.

Decided to run a 1 stop once I saw Gprilli spin out , I had enough of a gap to Garage to safely make it work. Made a few mistakes on the worn tires and this cost me to re enter the track after my only stop right behind allascato and tyrellracing having a battle on I believe about 5 - 6 laps old tires .

Took me about 4 laps to get past them , was the most fun I had in the race. Happy with 2nd , good result no way I could match immortals pace not with a 1 stop . Garage was pulling me in in the last 3 laps , one more lap and he would of surely made an attempt to pass . Very close call on the strategy.

Spa next , hope I can challenge for a win here . Immortal needs to be beaten or else he will win the championship.

Good race considering I had only an hour of practice just before the race. I should have done one stop but I hadn't time to study a pit strategy and I didn't want to take this kind of risk. I think if I would have done one stop I could fight with Skeng and Garage. My tyre wear was good and allowed one stop.

Anyway I had fun with Tyrrell and Skeng and a 4th place is not so bad.

Unless his car blows up I think IMMORTAL winning is a certainty with the tracks we have left, Spa is fairly even for the NSX and GT-R, Monza is more an NSX track and I suspect despite the difficulty in getting an NSX around Nürburgring safely he probably has a great deal of experience there (possibly even in real life). He only needs one more win to take the lead if he gets all bonus points again, or two more if he doesn't get any bonus points.

It really is quite an achievement considering he is one race down on the rest of us!! :ill: Thank god he didn't get a car he was comfortable in :scared:

I think with Montal out we will see the Z and Calsonic on the championship podium, although it will be a close call in which order they will sit, hopefully it will come down to the last race 👍

The NSX requires skill and dedication, as I've proved with my dramatic drop in the rankings, practise for these races is a must and probably more so in the NSX than any other.

Your tune was pretty good thanks, I think I just softened the rear a little and that was the only change I made, softening made it a bit easier to catch the slide it likes to go into around most corners!! ;)

I think we need to ask Immortal to show us his tune after the season.

It might help ? I'm jus interested to see it.

I just had a look at the table, thought he was 10 points behind but it's only 5, so he doesn't need as much as I thought if he wins next week even without bonus he'll take the lead!!

To be honest I think to a certain extent tunes are a personal thing, there isn't one magical tune that's the best one for a particular car, it depends greatly on driving style and will also change with each track...

You're right. The NSX's like a big test.

after the not so lucky 3D3 race, it's time to get back in our league :)

my first test with the NISMO Z at Spa gave me a 2.11.656

Just imagine gp those guys are running a faster time on medium tyres .

We just don't know this track as well as we should .

I'm still disappointed at my 3d3 race result , too many mistakes and we held each other up quite a bit . We just had no luck at all , sigh .

Well we keep practicing and we will improve .

How the hell are we gonna beat Immortal at Spa , he set fastest lap in the 3d3 race.

We're using 202hp instead of 218 now mind, but still it will take a LOT of luck for anyone to beat immortal, only chance is if he spins like in Trial Mountain.
I think we were capable of beating three of the IGTC team. I did about 3 spins and still finished only a bit behind Erik, no spins and a better qualifying result and I would have at least beat him. I only managed a 1:15 in qualifying.:dunce:

I hope there is a another one of these events as it was organised excellently, live stream of the final was great it's just a shame we weren't there. Next time I will practice more as we are certainly capable of making the final.

Top half of table race 202bhp, bottom half race 502bhp at Spa? I think it will work well Soopa.

SkengD I might pop into your lounge later in the week if that's alright as I don't have the DLC.

hehe, SkengD you practise a lot every week, in fact I don't think I've seen you playing any other game, I think you should seek help for your addiction

So true , I just want to be as good as Immortal :)

I noticed on spa my gearing must be set up wrong , watching the replay most people are using 2nd when I'm in 1st or using 3rd when I'm in 2nd .

Could my gearbox have costed me 2 - 3 seconds , I doubt it

That's true soopa, skengd is a addict, but maybee thats y he's as good as he is, lol. Maybee I should be online as much as him. U online today at any point skengd??

yeah I'd like to be as good as IMMORTAL too, unfortunately I don't think any amount of practise will help me get that fast!! I think most of us have been through a GT5 addiction, last season I was running in 3 leagues and loving every minute, especially dominating in Kingy's league, but I just always had the faster car though right? ;) Now I have a new addiction I must seek professional help for...

Yes I will be on later between 4 pm to 10 pm , I'm usually back n forth from the ps3 .

I will try to get in around 20 laps today , hoping to match gprillis time , he is a bit faster than me here.

Yea I'm gutted about the new maps, is it the back to karkand expansion? Cos I had the limited edition on order were you got that free, but my ever knowledgeable girlfriend told me to cancel it for one reason or another, stupid me listened to her, then she bought it for me for a 5er more, as a surprise for my birthday except it wasn't the limited edition. So no expansion for me unless I buy it, how much is it likely to be soopa?

Girlfriends always know it all , lol

I can't really complain about mine she bought me my wheel :)

I think it will be $14.99, so should be about £10 for us...

My wife bought me my wheel for my 30th... great present. My mistake was asking for GT5 for xmas, expecting it would be released close to it, but as it turned out I had to wait almost a month after it came out to get my hands on it :ouch:

What's the point of a wheel if you never get to use it,thats what its like for me right now.Might have to drop out of the series this week.

dont drop out , only 3 races left :)

I love that we have our dedicated set of racers here in the MRC , even though Neal and Montal havent been with us much of late . Hope they can make some of the remaining races.

I'm tryin skengd, just that my girlfriend keeps insisting that we do stuff on a Fri! (don't think that she wants to miss x factor, lol)

Yeah, I don't know how you got away with it for so long. It's like your cars were on steroids. Still, at least I'm a 3 time champion eh! :sly:

The league had potential but with only 4 or so each week I think it had run it's course. When I was running it I took a fairly relaxed approach which is probably why we didn't get more involved. The MRC is very professionally done which is why you have attracted a lot of good racers, so well done on that.

I like the sound of the new format a lot for next season. Will shake things up a bit and should stop people quitting mid race.
