Hmm. Considering joining if its Tekkit.

Would be nice to see if it was updated to v1.4.6/7 for Tekkit Lite too, if possible :D

Likewise, when I get round to playing Minecraft again, I'll ask to be Whitelisted.

I played FTB for a while... but I always wavered back to Tekkit. General preference, I guess.

Nothing against FTB though, enjoyed it while I played it :D

Hi guys. I started playing Minecraft almost 2 weeks ago, and last week I might have done something stupid that might have ruin my Minecraft. As I was playing through Minecraft, I was still trying to learn all the Minecraft controls, so I starting playing with F keys on my keyboard. As soon as I touch the F10 or the F11 key (I don't remember which one), suddenly my screen turns black, and froze. After restarting my computer, I went back to Minecraft, and guess what happens again? It froze again. I wonder if any you guys know how to fix this problem (I'm using a Windows Vista to be specfic). Please help me, I really want to go back to playing Minecraft, and I really need a break from GT5.
 
If you have any mods installed it may have caused a problem.
Also if you are using the new snapshot it could be a bug.
If you are just messing around not really doing a whole lot like building surviving and whatnot then you can go into your %appdata% and just delete your minecraft folder and reload minecraft OR do the Force Update under options in the Minecraft launcher.

Just to check java. What version you are using?

I haven't install any mods or use snapshot, so that not the case. I have already start force update, that was working ok. The 3rd option should looks like it could work, I should try it.

Oh hi there. Any chance I could get whitelisted for the server please? I pretty much just want to play with the ComputerCraft computers to do some stuff with Lua, if that's cool? I found these guides and I'm interested in, even if not any good at, programming and electronics so it would be cool to prototype some stuff in a collaborative or at least communal environment, doing it solo is a bit dull!

The thing is I do this at college (admittedly not much as it's more about electronic hardware than software, and it's C, not Lua) so I can't be sure I'll keep up with this, as much as I'd like to. If you know what I mean.

It never got any traffic and I've probably spent nearly £300 on keeping it hosted.

I'm probably going to go back to hosting one at home. I'm not sure yet if it will be Tekkit or Bukkit/Vanilla.
 
That's a real shame. I really miss the old days with Rapture, when I was a total minecraft noob. :lol:

Just out of curiosity though, who was it hosted with? I seem to recall it being DaddyCheese, but can't remember. I'm thinking about setting up a small private server with some friends, and am looking for a good hosting company.
 
DaddyCheese is the one.

You can get free MineCraft servers with only 4 slots if you don't mind the restriction.
 
Yeah, I looked at that but I'd like to be able to play on it whenever, and paying for a host will mean much less lag. It'll be £1 a month between us as well, so virtually free.

And besides, there's always the opportunity to expand and go public. ;)
 
Oh, shame. DQuaN, it was you who got a Raspberry Pi (well, one of the many of course) wasn't it? Have you seen this? I might look into this myself.

Just had a quick go on his server at randrade18.no-ip.org, it's slow but really not bad for a Pi-based server!

Yeah even a 512mb Pi wouldn't be great as a MC Server. I'm using mine as a mediacenter connected to the TV.
 
Have you tried his server? It's really not all that bad, but I'd be interested to know how many players it could host before things got really slow.
 
I would say not many. It is not a very powerful device.

Where is everyone playing nowdays? I'd like to find a new smallish friendly server to play on.

Kinda like mine used to be. :(
 
I spend so long looking for a server just like this one used to be, back when everyone got along and there were no griefers. :(

I think I may have a copy of Pandora that I could upload if no one else can.

Real shame. I've been busy with LoL lately to think of anything Minecraft. Although it's for the best, I guess. What made you stray from you hosting your server by yourself?

I went hosted because it was a lot faster and more stable. I think I'll set it up from home again.

Would anyone play on it? I hate having an empty server!
 
I'm just going to mention here that I've got a personal FTB server up and running, I'll try to post pictures when I get back home. It's nice, if some turdbucket didn't spawn a hydra in front of my house, but what can I do?

I think this is enough of a grace period to make another post here.

So, on our server, I made a nice house.

It's pretty much all I wanted, space for things, a nice mage tower, and overlooking a town.

However, others have had different ideas. After a bit of a fight, and a few issues surrounding, I had to find a new home.
