Hamels to the Rangers for Alfaro, Williams, Eickhoff, and Asher.
Matt Harrison, Alec Asher, Jerad Eickhoff, Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro & Jake Thompson for Hamels+Diekman+Cash.

Good, they pulled a fast one on the team with that trade attempt. Wilmer Flores was distraught over being told he was traded since he was still in the game.. and Terry Collins, the manager, only found out when someone mentioned Flores was upset on the field..

Alderson is a 🤬

Two reasons why the trade didn't happen.

1. Wheeler failed physical/Brewers were somehow not aware Wheeler was injured.
2. Someone over heard the deal, broke it as official and effectively screwed up any deal because he jumped the gun.

Meanwhile here in Houston...

The game between LAA at HOU ended in a 6-3 victory for the Astros. This win gives the AL West lead back to the Houston Astros. We doubled up the Angels last night. More of the same tonight. Picking up the win for HOU was Lance McCullers. Taking the loss for LAA was Garrett Richards. One more time between these two teams tomorrow night to conclude this series.

Congratulations to all other winners from Wednesday, including Cleveland wrecking Kansas City 12-1 in Cleveland.

 So he was only there for half a season. He was solid in Cincy, but that trade for DeSclafani is looking better and better by the day.

Speaking of which...following the Reds' 4-0 win and Leake's domination of the Cards last night (8 inning, 4 hit shutout), DeSclafani had a fantastic outing (7 inning, 3 hit shutout) in the Reds' 1-0 win tonight. I'm stunned we took the series against the Cards (first time doing that in St. Louis in 9 series' over there). Amazingly, the Cards only scored in 1 inning the entire series (which was only one swing of the bat (unfortunately) resulting in a grand salami, leading to a game 1, 4-1 loss). Other than that, the pitching was stellar. After tonight's game, it was the first time since 1937 that the Reds blanked the Cards in back-to-back games in St. Louis.

Starting tomorrow...a 4 game set at home against the Pirates. Since Cueto is now gone, David Holmberg is being called back up from Louisville to take his place. It's going to be a rough rest of the season with him gone and even more so when Leake gets moved.

I'm pretty sure most MLB teams were by default unwilling to take Wheeler because of the injury, especially since the Mets have plenty of prospect pitchers worth dealing. Also, them trading a shortstop, when they have a lack of shortstops, for an outfielder, when they don't need an outfielder, was a dumb move.

Lagares will need Tommy John surgery. Cuddyer is hurt. A 4th of wouldn't hurt. However if the reports are true and Gomez has a medical uncertainty (which is being reported now) then the trade nixed makes more sense.

Back to the weird trade.

Los Angeles Dodgers send INF Hector Olivera, LHP Paco Rodriguez and RHP Zachary Bird to the Atlanta Braves. They also send RHP Kevin Guzman, RHP Jeff Brigham and RHP Victor Araujo to the Miami Marlins.

Atlanta Braves send 2B/SS/OF Jose Peraza, SP Alex Wood, RP Jim Johnson, RP Luis Avilan to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Miami Marlins send SP Mat Matos and 1B Michael Morse to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They also send their competitive balance round A pick in next year's draft to the Atlanta Braves

Looks like the suspected Price to Toronto deal would have get Detroit get Daniel Norris and a couple other valued Toronto prospects.

I wasn't going to follow Baseball at all this year, until I found out that the Yankees were in first.

But of course the one year I decide to not care about the Yankees for most of the season, everybody stays healthy.

EDIT: And as I say that I find out Pineda goes to the DL.

Because I was trying to install Windows 10, I been away mostly. I was watching on MLB Network of my Astros concluding the LAA at HOU series. It was 0-0 the entire game until Jason Castro hit a walk-off three-run jack to deep right to win 3-0. This was otherwise a defensive struggle. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim had three hits and one error, and the Houston Astros collected six hits. Our winner was Luke Gregerson, and LAA's loser was José Alvarez.

Up next... Houston gets a snake invasion. It's a National League reunion for the Astros when we host the Arizona Diamondbacks for a weekend series. I am pretty pleased we picked up Carlos Gomez and M. Fiers in the trade market.

Elsewhere...

* I think I heard that the Mets haven't given up six or more runs in a game in over 45 years. Sad way for Blitz24's New York Mets to fail this spectacularly. From a 7-1 cruising... to an 8-7 disappointment. This one hurts for sure for the home crowd in Flushing. The winning combination for SD was Marcos Mateo with a Save from Craig Kimbrel. Jeurys Familia was NYM's loser.

* There was a little play date between the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers in Arlington, TX. The Rangers won 7-6 on Thursday. Maybe the Yanks from Tuesday should have been in this game considering how NYY won 21-5 on Tuesday. Texas split this four-game set thanks to a win by Shawn Tolleson. NYY's loser was Andrew Miller.

* A walk-off walk gave St. Louis the victory in St. Louis against the visiting Colorado Rockies. It was a 9-8 final. It was a win for Carlos Villanueva for STL, and a loss for John Axford for COL.

* AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers managed to hang on to win 9-8 at the Baltimore Orioles. Detroit picked up their golden (50th) win of the season to go to 50-52. They had a great lead until Baltimore rallied. Unfortunately, their rally came up one run short. Alfredo Simon was the DET winner while Alex Wilson got the Save. Losing for the O's was Miguel Gonzalez.

* The Cincinnati Reds had some fun today, at the expense of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dolph Drago's Reds tripled up the Buckos 15-5. Kicking Pirate booty (for lack of a better term) was David Holmberg getting the win for CIN. A.J. Burnett was PIT's losing pitcher.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday.

The 2015 Trade Deadline has come and gone. The wheeling and dealing that makes this so exciting has ended. It will be time to see which trades worked and which... may not have worked. So good luck to your teams going forward.

I wonder how the assets picked up from the Price and Cespedes trades will do. At least the Tigers got something since the to start with since rebuilding the heavily depleted farm system is going to be a long road ahead.

Leake got shipped off to San Francisco for another arm as well as a corner infielder. That means, with Bailey on the DL, 0 (yes, that's ZERO) of the starting rotation at the beginning of last season is currently pitching with the team now. Cueto in KC, Latos now in LA, Simon in DET, and now Leake in SF. Amazing how quickly things change. With that said, both Chapman and Bruce are still Reds.

The Astros led 4-1 for a good part of the game, but the Diamondbacks made their comeback to level things at 4-4. This game couldn't be settled in nine innings, so some extra innings was needed to settle this one. The Top of the 10th saw back-to-back jacks by the D-Backs. We couldn't do any more to try to extend the game. The D-Backs have been hot lately, and I am NOT talking about them coming from the desert to the urban heat of Houston. Deflating loss for the Astros. Six straight wins for Arizona and are now 50-51 after my Astros got subdued in Diamondback venom. The win for ARI went to Daniel Hudson with a Save from Brad Ziegler, and the HOU loser was Pat Neshek. Arizona got their golden (50th) win of the season to improve to 50-51. Got to hand it to the D-Backs. Astros fail in 10 innings 6-4 to Arizona here in Houston.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners, including a walk-off jack by the Mets in Extra Innings against Washington.

Duda has 8 HRs in his last 9 hits. Mets take another one from Washington 3-2. A win on Sunday Night Baseball will vault them into a tie for the NL East lead.

After last night's saddening fail, we stomped on the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 9-2 wrecking. A big key in our win tonight was a Grand Slam by Hank Conger in the Bottom of the 4th. HOU saw Dallas Keuchel pick up the win while Jeremy Hellickson took the loss for ARI. Tomorrow's the Rubber Game of this series. My Astros are now 59-46 on the season.

Elsewhere...

* I do think the New York Mets can take the NL East. Washington is strong, but I think the Mets are just a touch better. So I wouldn't be too surprised if the Mets somehow be atop the NL East. I do salute them on the 3-2 win. Hansel Robles and a Jeurys Familia Save combined for the NYM win. Matt Thornton had to take the loss for WSH. Both teams each have 54 wins so far this season.

* The Orioles bested AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers 6-2 in Baltimore. The O's won with Kevin Gausman. DET's loser was Anibal Sanchez. Baltimore can win this four-game series if they win tomorrow. Detroit can go for a split with a win.

* Dolph Drago's Reds took down the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 in Cincinnati. CIN saw Raisel Iglesias get the win along with a Save from Aroldis Chapman. For PIT, the loser was Gerrit Cole. Rubber Game tomorrow for this series.

* It was 3-1 in Rancho Cucamonga as the Los Angeles Dodgers defended home turf against Patrick's Los Angeles Dodgers of Anaheim in the Battle for Los Angeles. Big, bad Clayton Kershaw was LAD's winner along with a Save from Kenley Jansen. It was Andrew Heaney that took the loss for LAA. If LAD wins the series finale tomorrow, they can sweep the Angels.

* It was a football-like score of 7-6 as Kansas City took down the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto. The Royals maintain the best record in the American League with their 62nd win of the season. KC's winners were Yordano Ventura and a Save from Greg Holland. Mark Lowe took the TOR loss. Tomorrow afternoon is the Rubber Game of this series.

* "You can... put it on the boarrrrrd... yes!" White Sox hammered the New York Yankees 8-2 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, and it was John Danks who got the win for CHW. Losing for NYY was Bryan Mitchell. Not many "see ya!" moments for the Yanks on this day.

* Philadehlphia still has the worst record in baseball, but they are getting it together for sure. Just ask Atlanta after they got flattened 12-2 in Philadelphia. The PHI winner was Aaron Nola. ATL's loser was Matt Wisler.

Congratulations to Saturday's other winners.

We took the ARI at HOU Interleague series with a 4-1 victory here in Houston. Back-to-back wins for the Houston Astros Baseball Club as we got our diamond (60th) win of the season. We also maintained the best home record among American League teams. Collin McHugh picked up the win for HOU with a Save from Luke Gregerson. Robbie Ray was the ARI loser.

Up next for Houston... it's back to American League play as we're on the road against AL West opposition. Starting tomorrow night, the Silver Boot series continues when we're at the Texas Rangers for a three-game set. And after that, at the Oakland Athletics for a four-game weekend series this coming weekend.

Congratulations to all of Sunday's winners, including Detroit roughing up the O's in Baltimore.

Go figure. I didn't even bother watching and the Tigers win. I shoulda known that would happen since they lose when I watch.

Mets sweep Nationals with 5-2 win. Duda connects for his 9th HR since last Sunday.

CRAZY game in Arlington, Texas tonight. My Astros were getting the crap beat out of them, down 12-3 in like... the 3rd inning. The Astros did all they could to try to salvage this one. In the end, we failed 12-9. Good news for the Rangers in handing my Astros their backsides was Adrian Beltré Hitting for the Cycle. He is in rare company in being one of few players in history to Hit for the Cycle 3 or more times. Credit the Astros for not giving up, but this was crazy!

Whether pretty or ugly, congratulations to Monday's other winners.

[UPDATE] Colby Lewis and Shawn Tolleson (Save) won for TEX; Lance McCullers the HOU loser.

Have to think somehow McCullers will go on the DL following this nightmare.

In other news:

New York Mets win their fourth straight game. This one came at the expense of the Miami Marlins in a 12-1 win. Yoenis Cespedes had 4 RBI and Michael Conforto smacked his first career HR.
