Why would you want to tune your car though? There's a chance that your skill level would be around the top of Tier two, but if you use a tune when no one else is it might push you up into the top tier, and you'd have a non-enjoyable season at the back of the grid.

There are no bonus points for doing well in the Tier qualifying, the whole point of it is to make sure everyone is matched up fairly and has an enjoyable season.
If you're able to tune in the series but not in the qualifying, any tuning (dis)advantage you might have via tuning won't show up until racing begins and it might have altered your Tier qualifying. Most consistent approach is to have qualifying with the same parameters you are going to race with. If you suck at tuning and get blown away you might belong in Tier 3 and that's where you'll end up. Likewise if you are good at tuning but only a decent driver you might belong in Tier 1, not Tier 2.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't be so quick out of the gate. There is a crapload to learn in this game especially for the non-tuners. I'd be looking to organize a couple of non-points events to iron out the bugs and work on tuning and getting used to the physics, starts, racing in packs etc. before qualifying even begins, let alone the series.

I don't know how to effectively tune though, so I won't be tuning my cars in the qualifying. If I get put with teammates who do know how to tune, then as an example I might jump from competing for the podium to winning almost every race.

It's a purely hypothetical scenario and probably won't be too much of an issue, but I think making everyone drive the exact same car will give the best gauge of ability.

Also a thought just occurred to me, surely the car we choose is going to have a major influence on where people end up in the tiers? Different people prefer different setups in their cars, if someone likes their cars to be smooth and a bit understeery and they get put in their perfect car, they are going to get a much better time than they would in a car with an opposite bias to front end grip. I suppose the best bet would be to pick a car which is balanced right in the middle, but when it comes to the championship we might see people who were average in qualifying suddenly come to life if they pick the right car.

Here's a few things for you guys to think about. We haven't had many sign ups lately. Right now we have 28 signed up. I could close the Series at 28 Drivers.

We could have 7 Teams of 4 Drivers To Team. Have 2 GT Pro and 2 Semi Pro to Team. We would have 14 to a Lobby. Give me your thoughts on this. It's better to have an even number.

Yeah especially now with qualifying on 1st june.

Do you think it is possible to enforce the no tuning rule or is it a gentlemens agreement?

It would be a gentlemen's agreement. But tuning is a part of nearly every race series, so I don't see a point in forbidding it.

I actually like this idea. It will give you someone to work with. Build a team strategy. If one falls off the pace the other can go back and help by giving them a drafting partner.

I like this idea too, it also gives you an instant "rival" - your team mate!!! Unfortunately that means someone will be stuck with me. ;)

I really dont know what i want to do. Others told me to, wait till after release. That could bring in more sign ups? It's up in the air right now. Anyone up for a poll to decide the matter?!

Tell that to Lewis hamilton and Nico Rosberg, or Vettel and Webber or any of the BTCC boys.

Point well made.

Wait and see but if more join, you could always have each tier be made up with sets of teammates.
