5 subs seems a bit excessive in a 10 race season, that 50% of the races. If someone think they will be away for half the season there's not much point in them joining unless they aren't that bothered about points (which is fair enough). If they don't care where they finish, then they won't worry about no having subs.

I think anyone missing 1 or 2 races is understandable, but having someone else drive half a season for them seems a bit strange.

If we are going to consider subs then I think it's fair that main drivers get an extra point for bothering to turn up to a race.

I'm on my phone so I can't link, but if you go to the motorsport forum its abundantly clear that GTP doesn't want those kinds of videos posted.

Good thought on Subs. I've been busy all day. One rule about Subs. The person missing the Race is in GT Semi Pro. Can not go out and get a top fill in Driver. That sub you get. Needs to be in your skill level. Then he needs to qualify. Cause thst fill in driver will get you championship points. With a little points taking off for you not showing up

Also if someone isnt that arsed about the series then that brings me back to the point of not being bothered about the rules and clean racing,just like @Bethany Dawn said,we want a true race car driving experience,that means im afraid,taking it seriously whilst having fun,too many people think that seriousness isnt fun,but look at professional drivers,they have to take it seriously,but i challenge anybody to show me a professional driver who doesn't have fun doing what they do?
 
I always though 50% was high also. It started as the first time you missed a race you got 100% of the subs points. the second time was 90% of the point of the race and so on. Then it went to 90% of the point of a sub for the first two subs then 75% after that. It settled the 50% rule and one drop by the end.

we had two levels of drivers in that series and the race officials decided on the which room what subs could race in based off ability. And since they always practiced with us the officials had a good amount of time to evaluate them.

I don't know if you guys even want a sub rule or a dropped race rule in effect but I saw way to many guys leave the series once they had disconnected in a early race or missed to a family emergency and not having a way to catch back up.

The biggest thing is the guys who do make every race need to not feel they are being screwed by teams that don't make every race. Hence the lowest score being dropped being a main driver score when a sub is used. But you also want the someone who has to miss a race feeling he has a chance to close the gap.

Yes @Fight-Test youre onto something we do need a ruling @STALLIONO but i really dont know what,im out of ideas on this one.i think we should have a limit like f1 does with teams not showing up but i think the staff should be informed when someone cant make it and then they allocate a driver.

Aha now i see,i wasn't considering people being upset,i was taking it from the angle that gtp doesnt want the glorification of fatalities or to have them ridiculed,but yeh fatal crashes can be gut wrenching,theres a scene in senna that i wouldnt let my kids see,and that wasnt even a fatality.

I agree and Im sure something will get worked out. I will probably miss 2 sundays out of a 10 race calender for work. I can see two being a good number. Three at most. If you incorporate a lowest score drop then things can be tinkered with in a lot of ways. Alot of smart guys in here so im sure something will get figured out.

You know I was a little worried back in the day how the game thats demanding on hardware like this one was going to convert to console. I've got to say that man it looks good. They did a hell of a job.

Welcome to the GT3 World Tier Championship Series



Okay guys, i'm trying to get a Series going for Project Cars. It will be just, GT3 Cars. This will take place on the PS4. There will be 3 tiers of Driving skills. The Tiers help the avg Racer, a change at winning and a possible Tier Championship. Also, there will be Teams involved for this Series. The 3 tiers are GT PRO, GT SEMI PRO and GT AM. When the game comes out May 5th. There will be a Team of 3, in all three tiers.I will hold Qualifying to get your time. Your time you Qualify with, will put you in that tier of your Driving Skill. No one will know the track or car for Qualifying. That'll be selected the day of qualifying. To give everyone an even playing field. The Races will be Sundays at 2pm est..

Let's talk a little more about the 3 Tiers. In each Tier, i want at least 12 Drivers in each Tier. We get more interested, more spots will open up. I'm looking to get, 36 interested Drivers for the 3 Tiers. Each Tier will have 3 Drivers from each other. No Drivers will be split up. That's why i need 3 Room Hosts and 3 backup Hosts. Each skill Tier will have it's own individual Point Standings. The Team Point Standing, will be judged by Points of how your 3 Teammates did in the Race that Weekend. It's shaping up, and looking like a great Series. We just need, to fill the slots. LETS GO RACING GUYS!!!

Tier Qualifying Tier Placement Start Date is May 31st at 2pm est USA
Track: Silverstone GP Laps 10
Car: Aston Martin V8 GT4

Season 1 Sign ups will close on the 18th of May. So if your interested please Sign up!

GT Pro Drivers who Qualifying in the GT Pro Tier. Picking your Car, Race Livery and Teammates Details:

The top GT Pro Driver, that Qualifies for GT Pro Tier. We will have a Snake Draft for the Top GT Pro Drivers, in picking their car (only GT Pro Driver picks the car) Race Livery and Teammate #1.

Then GT Pro Driver #2 picks the same. The same for the other GT Pro Drivers.



Tier Performance after Season Details:

For example, in GT Pro the last 2 finishers in that Tier. Will get Regulated, to GT Semi Pro. In GT Semi Pro, the top 2 finishers, will move to GT Pro. The last 2 finishers in, GT Semi Pro will move down to, GT Am Pro. The top 2 finishers, in GT Am Pro will move up to, GT Semi Pro. Nothing will happen, to the last 2 finishers in, GT Am Pro.

Race Length

A timed Race of 1 Hour
If ican not do a timed Race. It'll go off of Laps.

Time Schedule:

Lobbies will Open at 12:45pm est USA
Qualifying will Start at 1:15 pm est USA

Races will be held on Sundays at 2:00PM EST (USA)
Qualifying will Start on Sunday at 1:15pm. It'll be a 30 minute Session.

Lobbies will be open 30 Minutes to Race Start.
We will have Room Hosts For each Tier. Make sure, whatevet Tier your in you add them. ( need help for that)

Series Rules:

Pitting

You must Pit, at least once in the Race. If you don't Pit, one you may run out of Gas 2nd you will be penalized in the Series Standings. Race Organizers and myself, will Review and Determine how many Points we'll be taking away from you.

Also, when exiting Pit road. Stay inside the white lines, until traffic is clear. Do not pass on over to the Track when exiting pit road.

Start of the Race

Start of the Race, is with a Starting Formation Lap. This goes for all Tiers. Then Start of the Race.

Cutting the Chicanes, shorting the Track at any time isn't allowed.

If a Driver has to leave in the middle of a Race. Please don't just exit. Pull into the grass when you see a safe line. If you exit without pulling in to the grass, it could cause a wreck and end someones race.

Careless Driving

No Careless driving. Always have respect for your Opponents. They'll show you respect. When Racing have Patience in your Passing. Don't do an Aggressive pass and end someones Race.


Driving Behavior

1. Don't Drive like a fool and ruin, your Opponents Race.
2. Your are to respect all Drivers as you want to be treated.
3. Aggressive Driving is not allowed.


Race Incidents:

Come to me or a Race organizer. Explain your issue. Record the incident If you can. We will dedetermine the outcome. Depending on how bad the Incident was. Penalized points, will range from 5 to 20 Point Range.

Disconnects

Disconnects If you get Disconnected in less then 2 Laps Completed we will start over. That also goes for all Tiers. If you get Disconnected, after or more then 2 Laps you will get last place Points.

To make, disconnects less to happen happen. Try and Hard wire you PS4. If you can not Hard Wire, try and have your Internet Modem closer to your PS4. That will also, give you a better Wifi wireless Connection.

Weather for the Series:

We are going to go with a live Weather report for each Track. Where ever, we're Racing at. The live report of Weather. We'll custom the Weather at the location for the Race In the online Lobby.

You can Tune any part of your car.

I think we should keep the point system as simple as possible especially when fractions of points are being mentioned. I think - no subs, if you miss a race, you miss a race, c'est la vie.

This is just my opinion and as always, I will be happy to go along with whatever is decided.
 
To be honest I don't really understand the whole sub thing. One dropped score works for me.
 
How are we going to handle caution flags? Are we going to slow down and reform according to position or race on?

Good question. I wish pcars had an option for this. What's going to happen. The 2 involved in the crash. Theboth of them will call out Caution! Everyone on the Track will slow down. Stay in your current position. Once you enter the start finish line. 1st place will call out GO GO GO! Then the Race continues. Pitting is on you. we can do what Nascar does. They do afew laps under caution.
We can do one complete lap under Caution. Caution lap speed will be 55 mph

I would suggest 2 caution laps that way people can pit then have time to rejoin the pack.

Hopefully this feature is in game before the series rolls around.
