Good race everyone, was able too keep up with Sick for a little bit, till crashed in to wall.
Car was damaged a little, drive okay, then later got more, hope I didn't get in the way trying too pit. Was right up against the wall, hard with damage entry, spent nearly 3 mins fixing, why did take so long.
By the time I came out was miles behind, very frustrating watching everyone go by.

Was good race at end with Joe, Harsk trying too keep up with them.

Anyone else have problem pitting?

Sorry I didn't show up, I lost track of time while painting a gate and fence. By the time I'd grabed a bite to eat it was nearly 8.45 and since I'd had zero practice in the 49 around Longbeach I thought it was best to give it a miss.

Guys I guess you got bored due to my complaints, but I want to show my another post in Bugs threat. Maybe someone there know answer:

What is a "Default" tune when racing with default setup? Not "Loose" not "Stable" but "Default"?
Mostly I race with default setups and since last patch I haven't had any race without problems - game randomly loading different setups even if room was set to default setup. Last example: I entered practice room yesterday (room was set to default) and my setup was "Default", leaved pits and car (Lotus 49) felt awful - FFB almost gone, seamed I was driving on cold tires in winter. After some laps I pushed "return to pits" and my setup changed to "Loose" by itself. Got 60 l of fuel instead of 7,2 l of course but when I leaved pits car was fine - grip and FFB were as usual.
Later I joined race lobby, qually started and I had "Loose" setup loaded (room was set to default again) - car and FFB were fine, but when race started car has no grip and no FFB again and I was "boating" all 30 min. race. We don't use "Ready" function and race starts automatically after qually so I couldn't check what setup was loaded, but I guess it was "Default" as a car felt the same as it was in practice room with this setup.

So, what this "Default" setup means and is there any way to solve this different setups loading problem (is there a way to have "Loose" setup all time without returning to pits or manualy loading Loose setup, because these things adding full tank of fuel and I can't do that in the race anyway)?

So, an eventful race then?

Good to see some old good lads back.

Congratulations to @beachboy6658. Impressive 3rd position (It seems that those YouTube videos on how to become an alien are paying off...). Good to see as well, the brains behind all this finishing in 5th place.
Yes have found videovery useful especially the 'thou shall not coast'bit!I think i had a habit of coasting up to the apex. Thanks for the link

I don't know the answer to this, but I only use the default "Loose" Setup as this is the one created by SMS for wheel users. I don't know why you are having problems - in theory the game should assign everyone who enters the room the same "Loose" setup being used by the Host and I think this is happening in the majority of cases. Recently an update has given people the option to select the "Stable" (understeer) setup which was created by SMS for hand controller users. I am not sure why the game is getting confused in your case @Napalm_LT

@Sick Cylinder Maybe we should try the Ready option before the race? Would only add another minute or two and I always feel like we get thrown in too quickly (I have a weak bladder)...

@Napalm_LT I didn't have that trouble. I only had the option to choose Stable or Loose – during practice I tried Stable option out of interest but they might as well label it 'chronic understeer'... as soon as I tried Loose I knocked 2 secs off my lap time straight away. If you're sure you've got a bug you should report it on the official forum. The community is good at maintaining a log of bugs, whether it'll be fixed is another story! More chance of it if it's logged on there than on here though.

The introduction of the option to select between the 2 setups seems to have brought some bugs with it which hopefully may be fixed with the next patch/update.
What are the new default settings? I'm not sure anyone knows.

I'd opt for a moments pre-race pause as well. Everything seems to happen at once, qualy finishes then immediately you're on the grid!

I have a weak bladder
You need a bespoke racing commode. Or is it a bucket seat? :P

Interesting! A new Pcars game

Could anyone please explain this option, where I find it and what it means - thankyou! Maybe @IfAndOr knows?

PS - I can't last 50 minutes so once I have roughly equalled my best practise time in qualifying I park the car for a comfort break, then resume (normally more slowly) on my return - we used to race with a 5 minute warmup on Project Cars 1, but this was deleted in favour of a 20 minute qualifying session which incorporates comfort breaks.

it's under Host Settings.
Click on Host Settings at the top of the Online Custom Event window.

And it's called...
Wait For Race Ready Input.
Turning this On or Off determines whether the Pre-Race screen is displayed at the beginning of a race session. If On, then drivers can adjust their Tuning Setups, pit strategies and game options before the race begins. The race session will not begin until all drivers have signalled that they are ready.
Waiting For Players will be displayed at the bottom of the screen until drivers join the lobby. Clicking the Lobby Launch button will begin a timer, counting down to the session start. This will be 60 seconds if not all players have clicked Ready, otherwise there will only be five seconds. Players will still be able to join active non-race sessions.

Hope that helps. ;)

Light rain throughout @Sick Cylinder or variable damp to dry to damp etc? Might be interesting with the racing line drying here and there. With continuous light rain I think it keeps getting wetter as the race progresses.

If weather changes (wet to dry) you need to go pitstop to change tires? Whole race with light rain, whole race with same tires?

@Sick Cylinder I will be able to join next Monday, if there is an available space.

Yes - please take over the space and number (6) reserved for Daley87 - he didn't show last week and I haven't heard from him so I think he is no longer interested.

The current plan is for Light Rain in qualifying and the race with only one weather slot, so there should be no need to change tyres.

So far I have only tested with light rain for a maximum of 10 minutes - it does get gradually wetter. I will do some more testing - I want to be able to avoid tyre changes and also avoid it getting too wet - at the moment it becomes difficult to control the car towards the end of the 10 minutes, so in testing I will experiment with the settings slightly. Probably won't get time for any testing this morning as I'm currently on my way to Brands Hatch - I've just stopped off at a café on the way with free wifi - time to post a few pictures from my last trip to Brands (my first of the new year) about a month ago.

750 Motor Club Meeting at Brands Hatch April 2018
The club was originally formed (I think 80 years ago) to provide races for the owners of modified Austin Seven's - these had engines of less than 750cc hence the club name. Many Austin Sevens were produced so parts were cheap and plentiful and scrapyards were full of all the bits needed to home build a racing special. The standard car only produced 13bhp from its tiny side valve engine, but they were easy to tune - my elderly neighbour managed to coax 42bhp out of his, back in period when he was an apprentice - today good naturally aspirated examples produce 50bhp, while supercharged examples, especially those running on exotic fuels produce even more - enough for some very exciting racing in these very lightweight cars!

Below the stunning "Miss Green" was the best prepared and fastest car in the H750F class (Historic 750 Formula) - sports a much modified 747cc Austin 7 side valve engine with Shorrocks centrifugal supercharger - the orange spots let the scrutineers and marshalls know that this car runs on exotic fuel.

Below H750F included a class for Formula 3 500cc cars from the 1950's - it was great to get up close to cars very similar to the ones with which Stirling Moss and Peter Collins started their racing careers. Cooper was the biggest producer of these cars which normally ran 500cc single cylinder engines running on methanol and producing 45-50bhp. Some period competitors had a second car fitted with an 1100cc V twin engine so that they could enter Formula 2 or the unlimited class in hill climbs.

Below only 22 JBS (James Bottoms and Sons) cars were produced so it was a rare treat to see this one powered by a J.A. Prestwich engine - note the remote float bowls for the carb. In period, in the days before seat belts and fitted seats, drivers would typically corner with one hand on the wheel and the other vigorously holding the side of the car!

Nice shots @Sick Cylinder. A proper camera rather than a phone I would think?

I like how yellow "Miss Green's" speedometer appears to be held in with insulation tape. :) I expect it's probably to stop the vibration. Would its exotic fuel be methanol also?

I've wondered before what J.A.P. stood for, now I know. 👍

(I'll try out a light rain, or variant, race later. As you say you wouldn't want it too wet. Although DD said it wasn't too bad on the Wednesday thread - although there's a roof on the V8 :))

Does Lotus have wet tyres Sick?
I hope so John! Otherwise I'm staying in the pits until the rain stops. :P

Need help big time!!!!!Seems I cant go a hundred yards without spinning. The slightest throttle or steering imput and im off!!!!What am I doing wrong?

@Tavilha reported the same issues on the Wednesday thread.

Try to open a new session. It appears that in some instances the game loads slick tires.

I don't think the vintage cars in the game have wet tyres - they don't use slicks - I think they use the same tyres for all conditions (except studded tyres for snow).

It does build up. However, with light rain and so many cars on track, it won’t be an issue.

I tested over 30 min light rain and it was ok. Sometimes it rain and sometime it was getting clearer weather - less rain. Nicely changing.

For me it just rains continuously.

I've now done a lot of testing including 30 minute races and multiple sessions - I like the effect for the first few minutes / laps, but in my experience the rain water on the track continues to increase until the lap times drop by about 25 seconds and eventually the car starts to spear randomly off the track - the AI seem to have magic tyres and continue unaffected!

I think if we go ahead with a wet race, it will be fun for the first 5 minutes, but an ordeal for the remaining 25 minutes for most people. This track works well in the dry so I have decided to stick with dry weather at Silverstone Classic for both Monday and Wednesday.

Apologies to people who have spent time practising in the wet, but I know we can have a good race if it is dry, but there seems to be a high risk of a bad race if it is wet.
