Mon 20:00-21:30 UK time - PC2 - Hosted by @IfAndOr - Please refer to new threadPS4

It's taken me awhile but I've just realised what it probably was you were seeing, it's Livetrack in action. That's the gravel and dirt represented on the track surface. Someone had been off track and had returned at those points, It stays there until someone drives over it a few times and clears it away. It does reduce adhesion so watch out for it - I think it "glitters" slightly more than what would be natural just to grab your attention. So it's not the game at fault it's the game being quite clever actually. :)

Oh and it's generally on corners that you see it because drivers don't loose control on the straight at all. Well rarely. Maybe sometimes. Ok you can see it all over the circuit. :P

Thanks IfAndOR - I noticed twinkles on the track in that round as well - thanks for explanation!

Drivers don't loose control on the straight at all. Well rarely.

I once saw Divina Galica lose control of her car on the start finish straight at Brands! Very rare as you say. Maybe she sneezed? Graham Hill once said that sneezing was the thing he feared most while racing!

Everyone Please Note - Update 7 has arrived = 4GB

Hopefully most people will be able to update before the meeting. NB No sign of the Ferrari DLC yet - I think that will be available on Wednesday.

Standing Start - accelerate after the row of cars in front has done so, no overtaking until after the first corner has been completed.
Don't know what I was thinking as I completely forgot about this rule. Sorry about that.
I quickly realised the mistake though and let everyone through,
then fought my way from the back up to seventh.
I had initially hoped to finish Top 8 so pretty pleased with that result.

Good job, Paul. Pole and the win. Can't get any better than that.

You've just downloaded it in the update. It will just need activation via a small file when it appears on the store. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Since it's mainly sandy at Laguna it probably is more evident there.

Good job, Paul. Pole and the win. Can't get any better than that.
Cheers Jocke. I'm glad I made it back in time from my day trip now. :)
Good result for you too.

I know some of you have T300. Earlier I often had random button press issue, know it acour only sometimes, but know I often have controler have been disconected problem. Guys with T300 do you have it too? My wheel is 2 years old and I am still on original FW. Maybe I need to update it?

It might be a good idea to do an update. It will discount that as a problem if nothing else.

Is your wheel plugged in securely both for mains power and usb into the PS4? I'm just thinking a poor connection might cause a problem.

@Sick Cylinder I can join next Monday if there is a space available.

If so, which car shall I use?

That would be great! Use a Nissan 240ZG number 3 (if there is more than one number 3 use whichever you prefer!).

Just a warning to everyone racing the Jag on Monday - I did a few practise races in Wednesday's car then did one in Monday's Jag and found it took a while to recalibrate my brain for the extra speed and much bigger braking distances - I had to start braking about 100 metres earlier!

Another good race yesterday in the big machine around the rather unforgiving Long Beach. I was closely following DD for a couple of laps when I got over excited and lost the rear end - which the Camaro is prone to do. I then spent the rest of the race locked in a close battle with @lancerevoo in his 240Z. I'd got the speed but he'd got the manoeuvrability and the better brakes making it very interesting. He'd have got 3rd but misjudged when the final lap was and eased off! I shouldn't have done but couldn't help but smile.

Congratulations to @Harsk100 for keeping it pointing forward and the win

After giving the Jag a quick blast for a few laps I have to say I liked it. I ended up being faster than in the Camaro! The brakes are better but are easier to lock. And it sounds great. The engine is a little more fragile though.

Thanks DD:D

I found the Jag, if you brake too hard, they fad and under steer. At Longbeach hit the walls, a couple of times, because of that. So now I try, gentle with the brakes, important not to give it too much throttle on corner exit. I can't drive it like DD, but it feels better, on this track, won race last night.

For those who struggle with the Jaguar brakes, below a 1:46.5 lap.

It could give you a good indication of braking points. I was carrying 50kg of fuel so you can probably be a bit more optimistic with the braking.

Should be a interesting race, had a quick go in the jag and its around 5 sec a lap quicker around here than the Nissan 👍.

I broke a bit earlier than your video to get the car slowed so you can get on the power earlier and it kept the back end in check as well for the exit.

Did you try the Camaro? Should be fast with such long straight sections.

I only had a quick go with the Jaguar and by no means I am familiar with the car.

I found that trail braking or simply carrying speed into the corner, made the car rotate, breaking the tendency of this car to understeer due to the heavy engine at the front.

But it might be down to personal driving styles.

Someone as fast as you could easily shave a couple of seconds from that lap.

I don’t race Mondays (unless rare occurrences) so I won’t be able to explore further how to get faster with the Jag.

Some of the othe people driving it can get their input as well or try both options and tell which one makes them go faster.

Sick, why am I with 11 points on Round #3? I won the race... :ill:

Thanks for pointing out the error - the wrong page of points got copied into the spreadsheet - it has now been corrected! (on page 1 of the thread).

Your doing a good job lately Harsk!!But tell me,where have you found this extra speed? You've gone from a midfielder to a front runner overnight. Is it extra practice or has something just clicked?

This is what I expected and hoped for when planning the series, given the difference in lap times between the cars - the top drivers are in a slower car (the Nissan) and sometimes the Camaro drivers are taking podium slots. Both Harsk and IfAndOr are doing very well indeed!
