I know DD does his videos and apologies if im stepping on his toes.

Aston @ Sugo

First video is in TT mode in loose setup, but I found the stable setup better for a race, 2nd video, less work with the wheel :)

Lap breakdown from the stable setup in race mode.
@Oldbass47 and anyone else.

Turn 1: Brake at the 150 marker board that is on the left hand side wall, release the brake and turn into the corner, applying a little throttle in the corner (apex speed about 60 mph) so you'r still scrubbing some speed so you run wide to the kerb ready for turn 2.

Turn 2: You should of scrubbed the speed from turn 1 to around 52 mph on the outside kerb, dont touch the brake and use the accelerator gently to hit the apex of turn 2 at around 58 mph, apply more throttle (not full) once you pass the concrete that is on the inside of the kerb, run the car to about a few meters from the exit kerb so you can pull it back across for turn 3.

Turn 3: Not running to wide from 2 allows you to pull the car back to right side of the track, you should get to the right (about 72 mph) so you are able to turn left into turn 3 before the kerb on the right hand side, holding a bit of throttle keep your speed around 73 mph, once the car is facing the caravans on the side of track you should be able to apply full throttle.

Note between turn 1 and turn 3 I dont apply full throttle till the exit of turn 3 and I dont use the brakes once ive finished braking for turn 1.

Turn 4: Brake point, there is a gravel line that runs to right of track by about 2 meters, were the gravel line turns right is the braking point for turn 4. (around 29 secs on the video you will see the gravel line and the kink). Turn in to turn 4 aiming to hit the apex were the concrete starts inside the kerb, (around 42 mph), then apply the throttle gently until the car is stable and as straight as possible to apply full throttle, aiming for the start of the yokohoma signs outside the track

Turn 5-6 chicane: took to much kerb in the video, dont brake for the chicane, release the throttle then use the throttle gently to control your speed through the chicane, turn in just before the kerb on the right, release throttle then gently apply to keep your speed through the chicane around 60 mph, apply full throttle once the car is settled.

Turn 7: just after the 50 mtr mark on the wall on the left or just before the dark patch of track, start to turn in when you see the green board on the wall aiming to get the mph down to around 57mph. On exit feather the throttle till the car is straight then apply full throttle.

Turn 8: brake just before the start of the dark patch on track, turning in and aiming to hit the apex at the end of the inside kerb around 53 mph, you should then be able to apply full throttle so you get a good exit for the straight. (you might need a bit of countersteer on exit, if youre struggling apply full throttle a bit later) top speed around 130 mph before braking for turn 9.

Turn 9: move to the middle of track so you can brake in a straight line and to avoid the little bump, braking point is the 150 mtr board on the wall on the left hand side. Aim to get your speed down to around 54 mph and aim to hit the apex when the concrete starts just inside the kerb, then hold the kerb until the concrete ends when you can start applying the throttle.

Turn 10: again brake just before the dark marks on the track, turn in and aim to just clip the kerb around 70 mph, I took it in 3rd in race run I did as it helped look after the rear tyres a bit.

Turn 11: lift of the throttle and turn in when the dark patch on the track starts, should scrub your speed to around 69 mph hitting the apex then apply full throttle.

Turn 12: Lift off the throttle, but try to keep a little bit applied, turn in just before the 50 mrt board on the left wall and scrubing your speed down to 70 mph, then aim your car for the 2nd exit road on the inside and keep on the inside till you pass the red patch on the barrier, the car should drift out nicely for the start finish straight.

Excellent guide! Loads of work there.

I do my videos whenever I find the time. Sadly these days, it does not happen every week. I am really happy you have covered this combination this week and in so much detail.

I’ll try to upload one for the Wednesday race tomorrow, just not as detailed as yours!

Project Cars 2 doesn't have any front engine Grand Prix cars - the logical choices if they stuck to the current manufacturer list would be Mercedes-Benz (W196), Lotus (12 or 16) or the Aston Martin DBR4. The Aston might have been a success if it had received enough development and was introduced on time, but priority was given (wisely) to the DBR1/300 - with which Aston won Le Mans and the World Sportscar Championship. The DBR4 used the same engine, but de-stroked from 3 to 2.5 litres and produced the same power, but at much higher revs. Much of the running gear was the same and I think it would make an ideal addition to the game and save me playing AC (I bought the AC Ultimate Edition just to get the Maserati 250F). I found this wonderful video of the DBR4 which I just had to share with you all - hope you like it!

I believe this is the ex-Roy Salvadori car. Best finish was second in a non-championship race. Like the American Scarab F1, these two cars might have been competitive if raced a few years earlier, but were made obsolete by the lightweight rear engined revolution started by Cooper. They are both now competitive in Historic Racing. Below the Scarab being tested by Lance Reventlow at Riverside in 1960 - Riverside a track which we also need in the game - such historic significance as it was used for all major categories of racing. Dig the increasingly frantic mood music in this great clip and look how much the car slides around on the track - not much grip in those tyres!:

Great video and description, must have taken ages to do.Almost wish I wasn't on holiday so I could try out your method. Will have to try it when I get home!

In the prerace screen I can send invites by pressing R2, but how to do that race loby is opened?
On the pre-race screen click on "Return to lobby". You can then send out invites as usual via the R2 button. Pressing the circle button will return you to the pre-race screen.

Basically, the return to lobby option does not exit you from the race track. ;)

John you had a bad start mate, by the time you pulled away I thought the rest of the field would lap us , I so much wanted to pull away, I was thinking go go go hahaha ,
Those cars felt great with a set up but without and in default every lap was tough, I could hardly get onto full throttle, even down main straight the car was sig sagging,

I was a nervous wreck by time race finished, but we had fun

Welcome New Guys !!!

Welcome to @Senna94f1 (PSN: mark___f1) and @Paulzx (PSN: Paulzx)
Hopefully you will be able to join us on Monday - the cars to use are: Mark = Ferrari 250 TR, blue race number 12; Paul = Aston Martin DBR1/300, green number 8. Mark - If you don't have the Ferrari DLC please let me know. Paul - do you have the Ferrari DLC?

The Wednesday Series is full, but I have put you down as first and second reserves:

Mark = Porsche 908/03 race number 2, Paul = Porsche 908/03 race number 7.

Please let me know if you have any queries. PS GTPlanet is misbehaving at the moment hence strange font etc.

I'll get any of the required DLC. Not been able to make it yet but should be okay for Monday coming

Guy Martin program, tonight, channel 4, drives van round, Nurburgring:D

I'll watch that on catchup. I saw a programme where he did a race in the USA in a modified Transit - his van won the "Hookers Choice Award" - the local ladies pick their favourite racing vehicle!

I'll get any of the required DLC. Not been able to make it yet but should be okay for Monday coming

Nothing needed urgently as there are alternative cars for any DLC in current series - just the Aston Martin DBR1/300 tomorrow and the Agajanian Watson Roadster in a weeks time. On Wednesday if you haven't got a Porsche 908/03 the alternative car is the Lotus 40.

Settings for Monday
Time = 14:00
Date = 05/08/70
Time Progression = 5X
Weather = Medium Cloud / Light Rain / Heavy Cloud / Medium Cloud
Weather Progression = Sync to Race

The race will start dry and bright. After a few laps it will start to rain. It will then gradually dry out, but watch for a puddle after the bridge which remains even after the rest of the track has dried.

Guys - I posted a wishlist / dream pack assuming that there is a 2nd Season Pass for the game - there will soon be a big announcement from SMS - probably about their new mobile game, but it would be nice if it was about continued expansion and support for PC2. Please visit the thread - click like to show your support for the suggestions if you agree and add any others you have. I will be adding further suggestions when time permits (it takes a lot of research to put together logical, period correct suggestions for the historic classes in the game. Same as hasslemoff, I can't join this evening either so my spot is available to a reserve driver.

I started finding a nice comfortable way of driving towards the end of the race last time in the rain when we raced at Le Mans, so it's a bummer I have to miss this one.

Didn't see that one Sick, usual see most of the programs, have to look for it.

I misread, thought we racing 24hrs, so had practised in the dark.

Recalibrated my wheel, car feels so much better now, was terrible in practice, loose settings. Got a better start than last week, good race with Beach, but wasn't able too stop from crashing into him, when he spun off.
We both needed to pit for damage, manged to get to finish line first.:D

:D I'm always in the dark John.

I'd forgotten to practice in the wet. It didn't go too bad though. I just eased up a little and hung on a lot. Most of my places were because of other drivers misfortune. I did pull a overtake on B-boy that was actually me completely missing my braking point! Harsk was a constant distance behind me which helped keep my concentration up towards the end. I think LC was occupying his attention luckily.
