Round 0 Group A.jpg

Next Round - Barcelona Day Monday 19th November

What layout of Barcelona and what date should be used?

Note - for this series, unless specified otherwise, the track used is the longest layout (i.e. normally the GP layout), the date is the current date minus three months (to have a warmer track) and the year is 1991. Time will normally be 14:00, dry with varied clouds unless separately specified. For this round the settings are:
Barcelona GP
Time 14:00
Time Progression x5
Weather Dry, 4 slots, Light Cloud / Med Cloud / light Cloud / Med Cloud
Sync to race

Yesterday I gave all of the cars a go. I hadn't really tried the group A machines before and they all have different traits.

The BMW is lively in its handling but is the slowest on the straights. Brakes very sensitive. (It has the worst engine sound!)
The Nissan is a lot of fun, being quick and has loads of grip. Can be a little twitchy when braking though.
The Audi is fast and also very stable, especially on the brakes The 4wd provides good grip. (V8 sounds great to)
The Ford can be very fast but needs a firm hand since it's a bit of a handful when the power cuts in. (and also sounds good)

A well driven Skyline could be one to watch out for on most races. Although the surefooted Audi could be the easier to keep on track. The BMW will be nimble on tighter tracks and the Ford will shine on faster sweeping circuits. Should be interesting.

See you over in Catalonia later. 👍

Apologies sick
, I've been busy with work today plus I had to fit in today taking one of my 2stroke bikes for dreaded mot , it passed only because I spent all day Sunday getting it prepared and swapping piston and barrel over lol,

It had a sick cylinder , it's why when I see your name it makes me chuckle , if you have space next monday I will definitely be there , anyways sorry about missing last nights race,

You've got a regular slot on Monday's and Wednesday's now so there is room for you if you are available.

What 2 stroke bikes have you got? There are a lot of bike fans on this thread!

Fun race guys , lost touch with the leaders with pressure from behind but turned out to be a battle with if and sick .
Sick keeping the pace if gets past me both use sick for tow down the straight ,hot on if's tail i finally get a chance if makes a small mistake i get through :)

Nice to see harsk read the rules first corner lol

a battle with if and sick .

I like the group A cars, just fast enough.

Twas a great many position swapping scrap indeed. Sick had the speed in his Audi but I think his tyres were wearing quicker than the BMW's. In the end he braked, I jinked to the right to avoid him and you snuck through on the left. :P

The name's Paul by the way, use that if you (or anyone) like . "If" this and "If" that sounds very odd at times. :)

How's your shoulder now?

I could only make it for the end of quail but couldn't select my Nissan – is it a DLC car? I don't have pre-order Japanese pack but have the season pass.

Hi Joe - if you swap cars with @Skip7950 that would sort the problem - if you switch to the number 46 Audi and Skip uses the Nissan number 2 when he is available.

Next round - Le Mans (Modern) 24 Hour simulation.

Regarding my bikes it's just mopeds and 100cc,s some vintage some modern now but must be 2 strokes , I miss my beloved X7 and coffin tank RD 250 , remember I grew up riding fizzy,s. Even plenty of crunchies arh 4strokes lol

I sold my R1 yes 4 stoke, last year now that was a hairy bike ,

Is there space tonight , I notice my lucky number 66 is gone .

I never had an AP , but 1 great little bike I had was RD 50 it was so race turned it would melt the piston every 2 to 3 months regular as clockwork , red enameled frame black tank and it would beat all the 100cc around at the time ,

Biggest regret as I didn't know what I had as a young pup was 1970 Yamaha 100cc twin , it had chrome on side of tank but that's the one I really wish I had now, so rare but no one wanted them

Aaah I've got your lucky number on Mondays then Rich! Wasn't lucky for me in the last race :D

Definitely seems like two stroke gets in your blood once you've had one. I've got a mate with an rd400 drag bike and a good few more two strokers as well, he loves them.

As for me on the bike front, I've always been around British bikes. Had my little Triumph Tiger Cub since I was 11.

I had a RD400 myself, enjoyed the smell, it wasn't the greatest of condition.

Can still enjoy the smell of 2 stroke, going to my local kart track. Watching little kids on their, minimotos, haven't been this year.:D

Anyone play bike racing games?

Isle of Man is a good racing game but don't bother with the 3 wheels around the mountains and that game has only dropped price once in 6 months ,the day after I bought it lol,

Yeah I had the rd 400 with mag wheels ,

Castro R treat yourself to some of that ,I run one of our souped up scooters , not vintage that one lol 1995 Yamaha jog mint condition in shiny black lol , or a 72cc Peugeot ludix lol another one we have fun on, my big bike days are over ,

Currently restoring a Honda 400 for my eldest son ,great little 4cyclinder yes dreaded 4 stroke but are super super fast, that one depending on conditions would hit 150mph , my days of doing them speeds on bikes even my ex R1 or truly over ,
