I don't think it was excessive speed @Napalm_LT. I'd been practising and found out Daytona is very susceptible to pit lane entry speeds.

What I think it was is that I entered the pits in slightly the wrong place. Because the pit lane has quite a wide entrance I'd misjudged it and gone in a little too far to the left. The AI "grabbed" my car and slid it to the correct position on the right and in doing so it ended up facing the barrier. The AI then took over in auto-drive and drove forward straight into that barrier. It then shuffled the car backwards and forwards into the barrier while it tried to sort out what to do.
Because I'd been practising using manual pitstops* I hadn't encountered that before.

The trouble was, besides loosing time, I'd switched off the repair damage option for that pitstop so it came out damaged. The steering was pulling to the left which was luckily the right way for the track. :)

Note for future Daytona meetings - enter the pit lane further to the right. And slowly.

*Manual pitstops work well on the Ovals. You really need to pay attention to prevent getting a penalty. In fact manual pitstops are good everywhere. Hint hint. ;)

Gutted I missed this one. Looking forward to the upcoming races.

What’s the game like physics-wise with the oval racing. Not done too much of it...

Does it realistically replicate side drafting? If it does that would be pretty awesome. Just get in alongside a quarter-panel and stream past the competition! Haha!

It’s been a bit of a mad few weeks for me...including endurance racing at Spa and then the Blancpain GT at Brands. Sort of looking forward to getting some evenings back to play PC2...

It does indeed Shauny. The aerodynamics of this game are ridiculous and really should have been made more common knowledge, I reckon it would further people's appreciation of what they've got. I know for a fact that the aerodynamics are affected even by the altitude of the track (thinner air meaning less downforce for those that are unaware).

Hey Sick and fellow racers due a new project, a wedding abroad and my vacation.
I will skip the rest of this championship and sign up again for the next championship. :irked:

Thanks for now and I wish you all a happy holiday until we meet again !

Stay healthy and keep racing, cu in month or two / three :sly:

Hi, guys
back from a little "Tour de France" (was a bit more than 2000 km with our 37 years old camping-car) visited Le Mans and Rouen les Essarts btw.
Now its time I could use a little help from all of you. Tomorrow I´ll drive the EGTM Div.B Leage at Bathurst. There is a fan-boost voting and the one with the highest votes gets 3% more power. Please give me your votes at http://egtm.racing/fan-boost-division-b-bathurst/?contest-gallery-order=random&contest-search=simba thank you
It is only possible to vote once and only today

People often knock NASCAR because ‘it’s just cars going round in circles’, but it’s all nonsense. NASCAR drivers have to be physically very tough...it takes a lot of skill to manhandle one of those cars for hundreds of laps. Also, with all due respect to the various levels of undoubted skill in the group...but we are all over the place...so much for just going round in circles haha! Real-life drivers have pin point accuracy...anything else ends up hurting you either in seconds per lap or physically. Massive props to NASCAR drivers.

On a side note...how are people coming along now the racing season is underway. Anyone been to see anything yet? Does anyone use Instagram? I’d be happy to give you a follow...I have a Motorsport photography page.

...and on that note...I picked up a new book today. ‘Art of the Race’...it’s a photography book by a guy called Darren Heath. His F1 photography is pure genius. The book was dirt cheap too...highly recommended!

Yes they are quite brave NASCAR, drivers, we don't experience the g force most exhausted at end of a race. When you watch on TV, can be boring, because they only show the leaders.:boggled:

I think it was free if you pre-ordered the game, it isn't actually included in the season pass
Hmm, perhaps I bought it then. It was sometime back, I cant remember. The 2&4 is still fun. :)

The full game is quite cheap at the moment. I'm considering buying it again! Mine is currently the disk version. Having it fully on hard drive would be slightly more convenient and quieter. It would also free the disk drive up for other games - Pcars 2 rarely gets taken out!

Hey there!
I was looking for a series on PCars 2 and @Sick Cylinder invited me here.
Just want to mention that I'm an old Gran Turismo veteran (and A+/S on GTSport) but a pure rookie on PCars 2.

I confess that it took me a while to set up all options for my wheel etc.

Also, regarding this series, I would like, if possible join the next race today @Indianapolis.
I have to say that I'm not used to cockpit view but I'll have to deal with that ahah.

Best regards.

PS: I'd like to join with the Mooneyes Racing #78 if possible.
My PSN: Will-Friedmann.

Hi Will, good to see you here. We're a wide range of abilities so you'll definitely have one, two or three people to race against in the field.

Welcome Litchi - I have sent a Friend Request to your PSN.

Please use race number 92 tonight.

Hopefully the race will go well tonight, but if not, please do not be put off - we start normal racing again next week with a new series of GT1 on Monday and LMP900 on Wednesday. This week is our last week of oval racing, which I have found to be very unpredictable and difficult to get a good race.

Sorry for double post but..
Do I have to learn how the pit strategies stuff works for the race tonight?
I've seen that we can create multiple pit strats but dunno how that works. Is it useful?

No problem, it doesn't change my racing style anyway :D
Foot down and go for it. That's the best way. :P

Good to see a new face Will. 👍

Is it useful?
It certainly can be useful to change pit strategy. Cars can be partially repaired or tyres not changed thus saving time.

But for this week I'd say leave it on default because....

@Sick Cylinder perhaps for our final 2 oval races you could switch the damage to visual only? I think it would make them more enjoyable for all. And save any pit stop repair problems.

Finished upgrading my rig ast week - aded TV stand. Distance to TV now is 80 cm, earlier it was 130 cm. Tried it on weekend and can say I am more than happy. Closer TV added some in car feeling when use cockpit view. So, I highly recomend mount TV as close as it possible.

Also added shelf for PS4, holder for headphones, secured all wires to the rig (I hate mess :) ).

T300 has pour power suply so I every time disconected pover kord when finished. To not do that added aditional power extender with button (under the seat) just for wheel and cooling fun.
Can't wait evening
