but it's complicated to navigate in the menu while racing lol.
Yes it is a bit like trying to drive while changing channel on the radio and texting at the same time. Not recommended! (Especially the texting - don't do it folks.)

By the way to save confusion my name is Paul. You'll see some of the others call me that on occasions.

Didn't know pit entry from straight is alowed, but folowed Rich and others. New guy decided to pass by left and I couldn't enter pits :). Pited next lap but did half lap on the inside line. It was mandatory?

It was mandatory?
Yeah I thought that not using the long pit entry would have been penalised too. But I saw others enter via the short route and went that way as well. I'm not sure it was any quicker actually, looked about the same according to our finishing positions.

Very close at the end Napalm, 0.005 in it. I thought I might just get a run on you from the final corner. :)

Unlucky @Litchi. You'll get used to the various penalties and other odd PC2 related things eventually. You had good pace though. 👍

Here's the finishing times.

Perhaps I wasn't allowed to race because they'd weighed my car or my team were too busy changing numbers ;)

Nice video @rj5992 but I don't think it is very accurate.

In 1967 the Penske Team purchased a road going Camaro from a dealer and then race prepared it, but found it was over weight. They then had a very expensive set of special lightweight body panels pressed using thinner steel - unfortunately Mark Donoghue destroyed the full set first time out when an axle failure caused a big accident at Loudon.

Roger Penske found out that the other Trans Am teams were using a cheaper alternative - an Aerospace company to acid dip their standard body panels - so he copied the other teams.

The video makes it sound as if Mark Donoghue and Team Penske were cheating, but they were doing the same as other teams at the time. Mark was more honest about it than other drivers and plenty of detail is given in his book "The Unfair Advantage".

Thanks for giving us the true story!

Really enjoyed the race on Monday, surprised myself with my performance to be honest – after very little PC2 time lately and only half hour in the practice room, my main goal was to actually finish the race! After this mini-series I have a newfound appreciation of oval racing – I was one of the people that said 'it's just driving round in circles' until now, but I think that was because on other games it pretty much was. It's amazing how many new variables the PC2 physics/aero engine introduces... no two laps feel the same.

That said, I am looking forward to getting back into some circuit races next week after what feels like ages. And GT1 too, can't wait! Which two cars will we be using @Sick Cylinder – please tell me the Macca is one of them?!

Does anyone use Instagram? I’d be happy to give you a follow...I have a Motorsport photography page.

You can find me here – not much motorsport stuff yet (becoming a dad has significantly reduced my ability to go to events), but I have just bought a new lens for my 60D and nabbed a load of beginner's photography mags that were going spare at work, so that might change soon...

'it's just driving round in circles'
That sort of covers our racing in general. :P

@Sick Cylinder "Drivers use 2 GT1/LMP900 cars"
Are they a pick your own choice? If so I'll give them all a go.
First race in the wet!! :scared:

Note: I have the Panoz Esperante (I think it was a special DLC so maybe not all have it?) and it sounds superb through my superwoofer - hint hint. Although I've got no idea where the front of the car is because the bonnet is that long!

I think I might be up for that Napalm, I have a busy day lined up but if I’m around I’ll join. Will try to keep an eye out on here for details.

@Sick Cylinder are you still at the AMOC race meet on 8th June? I just got back from the Masters Historic F1 (where, to be frank, the Formula 2 is always way more exciting IMO!) and I was wondering if you were still going on a couple of weeks.

I was trying some practice races, with new cars, set to rain at some point. When came in in to change tyres, sent me out again on slick's, so couldn't drive car. I choose wets in pit strategy, should have been, by weather instead?:boggled:

Did you have 'Change Tyres' set to 'Recommended' instead of 'All'? It needs to be on 'All' or the game will decide for you and normally chooses wrong.

@joedakiss - I've given the Macca a bit of a go and I see what you mean about it, it is a bit tail happy. Now I shouldn't probably be telling a rival team member this but as a online racing friend :), try out the stable setting. It improves the handling no end. It might not be quite so much "fun" but it makes it more enjoyable, if you see what I mean. Try it with ABS on low as well, it's just enough I found.

I've seen that the stable setting is just for controllers only but personally I don't think it is. It's just a different setting for anyone to use and well worth trying out on all the cars. Controller uses can use the loose setting after all.

I hope we don't have too much rain a Silverstone @Sick Cylinder

Light Rain with no time acceleration, just to slow down water build up.
That would work.

I've tried it,1 weather slot set to light rain, and it works really well. In fact the best wet race I've had at Silverstone. There's a slow build up on the track but the cars keep clearing a dryer line with very little puddle build up at all. Very realistic, much better than accelerated weather there. Recommended for our 30 minute races.

Summer with a 6am start @ x2 is nice too. ;)

Am I not in this championship @Sick Cylinder ?

Apologies for error Joe - you will be on the second line currently listed as vacant. The spreadsheet has been corrected already, but will be uploaded later.

Yeah, I hope that if it's going to be a completely wet race then it'll be Light Rain with no time acceleration, just to slow down water build up.

Yes - your suggestion will be followed for Wednesday and Monday - Light Rain with 1 slot and no time acceleration.

Yes - I plan to be subject to weather conditions. I opted not to go to the Lydden Hill Historic Festival on Bank Holiday Monday (mainly because of the terrible circuit access) and opted for Saturday at Brands (I also went Friday morning for testing). I'm guessing that you went on Sunday. The F2 is normally better than the F1, but on Saturday the F1 race was epic! The F2 race was also great until Mark Charteris had problems and dropped back. I'll post up some pictures from Friday later.
