John, on a complete whim I took the day off work and went to the Friday practice of the BSB at Brands.

I was very impressed...and whilst it’s still not quite car racing...it was bloody good fun. Saturday and Sunday that weekend I spent trying, and failing, to beat my non-stop Le Mans tv marathon (16 hours again this year...3am always gets me!)....but as soon as Alonso had collected his Rolex I switched straight over to watch the end of the Superbikes on Eurosport.

It made me want to get my motorbike license haha.

They were supremely good to photograph too. Got some pretty good pics, having only had my ‘proper’ camera for a few weeks now...they were super easy to photograph.

Anyways Knockhill looks like a great circuit (if a bit bloody far to go!) and I think you’ll have a blast. Enjoy mate!

Totally missed the BTCC that weekend too...need to do catch up on ITV4!

...and with the 24 Hours of Nürburgring last weekend, I’m feeling suitably satisfied with the levels of endurance racing I’m seeing at the moment (made up for a bit of a snooze fest French F1 race..!)

You would found racing really good Shauny, but least watch some practice. Looking forward to it, only hour away from Glasgow, hopefully the weather will good. Been rained of before:boggled:

Have you got some photos.:)

Ah from Glasgow eh? I know it well...despite being a southerner!

I do have some photos but they are all on Instagram! If you use that let me know and I can send you some.

Just a quick note to remind you all that this weekend (29th-30th June) is the "Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix. I will be at Brands on the Saturday (weather permitting) and would love to meet up with any of you.

If you are going look for a white bearded gent wearing a number 52 James Toseland hat - if spotted, just ask "Are you Sick?" PS - Grandstand seats are only an extra £5 so I will be in the Paddock Hill stand for the races (top left corner) and in the paddock / wandering about before the races.

I probably won't go on Sunday as I've been trying to limit my race attendance time for family reasons.

Personal favourites are the pre-1961 F1 cars fielded by HGPCA members and the Formula 5000 cars in the XL Aurora Trophy, but there are also many other categories racing.

@ShaunyB @rj5992 + all members of GT Planet.

Sick - sorry I missed you! I hope that you had a good time. That Ferrari was a really beautiful machine...albeit I understand that it was a replica.

Tiff Needell and Tim Brise (brother of Tony Brise) were driving in the pre-61 races too...which was pretty cool.

I love your photos! I took a few too!

All - really sorry, but I can't make tonight. I really hope to be able to make Wednesday though! I hope it's a good race!

Hey @slthree you'll get some points for being 13th*. :P

*Oldbass dropped out.

A race of tyre wear control. Quite interesting. Andreas seemed to have got it under control.
The sun did set a little quickly. It was light at the start of the straight and dark at the end! :)

Again sorry for the tap @Napalm_LT I think it unsettled your car. You'd gone slightly wide then pulled back in, I couldn't quite slow the big Panoz enough.

Lol @IfAndOr Please, give that point (or points) to Old

@John Wells Those photos are terrific.

While you guys raced I followed each and everyone of you for a certain amount of time and I looked at your cars from every view possible.

it was a little frustrating for me, however, because I couldn't identify the cars. I believe at one point I saw a Ferrari logo on the back of one of them.

This is one of the few things I dislike about this game, that, if you can't identify the cars visually, there is no way to know what they are.

@AndreasR I was shocked that you could open such a big gap so early... until I watched your racing line for a few laps. I noticed you weren't hesitant to downshift a gear lower than others in the field on some turns. That was very smooth and fun to watch

But, the battles for 3rd (@IfAndOr and @Napalm_LT) and 5th (I think @joedakiss and... forgot), before pit stops were my favorite to watch. That was must see TV

Thanks for letting me in guys

Honourable mention to IfAndOr who has become a regular podium man!
Slow and steady works for keeping on it on the grey stuff. :)

Actually I've done a couple of things recently. I've adjusted the position of my pedal box so it's more comfortable. I've also removed the stiffened progressive brake spring mod and refitted the original. Oddly I find I can now "feel" the brakes better!

Although a bit of a handful at times I quite enjoyed the GT1s/LMPs but I'm hoping for something a bit less frantic next?

@John Wells Dear Sir, I must demand that you stop posting these photographs. They are so beautiful they distract me from my work.

The photo of the mobile sponsored car in the barrier blocks is fantastic!!!

Now, please stop so I can make a few more calls and get home to race. Otherwise, I'm sitting in my vehicle just staring at pictures of video game cars! My goodness, how crazy does that sound?

Edit: I also love the one of the car veering off to the right with the beautiful trailing cloud (from the green cars perspective).
