That's a little extreme @rj5992! I've never seen that amount of time for one penalty. It's not like you even seemed to get all 4 wheels over the line. Perhaps Sick might be kind?

Well done to @Litchi too. You seem to be rapidly getting to grips with PC2. Great pace. 👍
(You'll be liking it more than GTS if you're not careful. ;))

And a good old scrap there Rich. We swapped places a few times!

I confess I already like this game more than GTS
It does sort of grab you doesn't it. There's a greater degree of realism that makes it more appealing to me. GT is still a great game but for me it doesn't quite have the same pull somehow.

And talking of realism. The authentic aids are fine as they are @Sick Cylinder, don't disable them. It's very realistic to be able to switch in and out the real life counterparts when available. It'll make the GT1s harder to drive for most since when they practice the aids are on by default. When I get to drive the Panoz I won't be able to use ABS and that'll be ok too since I'll adjust.
(By the way, none of the LMP900s have any aids anyway.)

Nah, I didn't, it was only two wheels. What made it worse was that it was the wet rumble strip that actually dragged me off the circuit in order to get the penalty as well.

And talking of realism.

Here's another realism thing I discovered in practice. I ended up on my roof at one point and realised that I was able to start the car without clutch in all gears (I use manual clutch on all cars, sequentials you only need it to pull away). Normally the car will stall without the clutch applied in all gears, but without any weight on the rear wheels they were left to freely rotate in the air. It makes you wonder just how in depth the coding must be. I now know that not only is the clutch position, and its effect, related to the revs of the engine but also affected by the mass of the car preventing the wheels rotating.

It's interesting to see the depth of the modeling. Next time I'm in that position I'll have to see if the rain runs down (up) the window screen.

One thing that I have noticed with penalties is if you lift lift off the throttle as soon as you start to head out of bounds you often don't receive a penalty. Yesterday for instance Rich was close behind when I missed my braking point. I went off track completely cutting out a corner and still came out on track in front of him. Because I'd bounced across without any throttle I didn't get any penalty.
It's not always the case but it's worth trying to remember, no throttle no penalty. Possibly maybe.

And also about remembering...
@ShaunyB always remember the golden rule of Pcars... When you're ready press ready. :sly:
(Sick never hardly forgets)

How can you tell if the car is using aids, I just thought that, if you have them off, it means that.

If you have the hud displayed onscreen (the speedo etc) there's a few symbols that display the state of the various functions. If ABS and TC (and SC etc) are available and switched on they light up white. If they are in use, wheels locking or spinning, the appropriate icon flashes. If they aren't flashing you are driving within the cars limits. If greyed out they are either switched off or not available. Because of their age they are not available on the majority of cars that Sick uses so you probably might not have noticed them.
Some cars display the information on their dashboard display also.

You can map the functions to buttons so that they can be switched between off, low and high. Since it's linked to both stability control, where available, has to be switched off before the others can be disabled.

Thanks Paul will have look for that next time, too see whats happening. Found Panoz a little understeer with loose settings, stable was better.👍

The last photos I have of it from 2013 when we were sorting out tyre sizes (that's a Norton Commando rear wheel on the front, as we were weighing up whether to go 19" or 18" on the front):

It's still a basket case at the moment. I need to weld up the crankcases after someone ground through them when repositioning the front engine mount to shift the chain line around the old 18 X 4.00 rear tyre. Full engine rebuild need after that with new barrel liners and then possibly a high comp piston and a high lift cam. It'll be converted back to a road bike, but not standard. I've got a new/old rear subframe to go on and a pair of 18" flanged Borrani's. The 5 1/2" front drum is going and I've got a Ducati 250 front drum to go in its place, I'll probably send the front and rear drums off to have green Ferrodo liners put in them if it's still possible to do that.

Sick what time settings were you using?

Good little bike to get you about, what's the black car, can see Escort too. Once you get all finished be quite nice, with full rebuild, new brakes. Enjoy.:D

Hey All
i have seen my mistake starting on the left , but now two races in i will stay with the car im in . Next time i'll start on the right ..

Was sorry to see people droping out not the race it could have been !
good race in the end untill i f up last lap.

I want one of these
Have you got a long enough lawn though?
I suppose to make it even quicker you'll be able to cut the corners on it. ;)

I see it's a new version they've built. The old one was quick but this is faster still!
Here it is again.

They missed a chance there. It could have started cutting the verges.
